Amos 9

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 I saw the Lord standing by the altar, and he said, 'Strike the top of the pil ar so that the thresholdsshake! Smash their heads in, one and al ! And I shal put any survivors to the sword; whoever runs away wil notrun far, whoever escapes wil not make good his escape.	1 Io vidi il Signore che stava ritto sopra l'altare e diceva: « Percuoti la soglia, e si scoterà l'architrave. Siccome tutti son dominati dall'avarizia, fino all'ultimo li farò perire sotto la spada. Non avranno scampo: fuggiranno, ma di quelli fuggiti non se ne salverà uno.
2 Should they burrow into Sheol, my hand wil haul them out; should they climb to heaven, I shal bringthem down.	2 Anche se scendessero fino all'inferno, di laggiù li tirerà fuori la mia mano, ed anche se salissero fino in cielo, di lassù li farò precipitare.
3 Should they hide on the top of Carmel, I shall track them down and catch them; should they hide fromme on the sea bed, I shall order the Serpent there to bite them;	3 E se si nascondessero sulla cima del Carmelo, io, dopo averli cercati, li porterò via; e se cercassero di nascondersi ai miei occhi nel profondo del mare, laggiù darò gli ordini al dragone e li morderà;
4 if their enemies herd them into captivity, I shal order the sword to kil them there, and I shall fix myeyes on them for evil and not for good.'	4 e se andranno in esilio davanti ai loro nemici, ivi darò gli ordini alla spada, e li ucciderà. Terrò loro gli occhi addosso per loro male e non per loro bene.
5 Lord Yahweh Sabaoth- he touches the earth and it melts, and al living things on it lament, as al risestogether like the Nile in Egypt and then subsides like the Egyptian Nile.	5 E il Signore Dio degli eserciti, — che tocca la terra, ed essa si strugge, e tutti i suoi abitanti sono in duolo, ed essa tutta traboccacome un fiume, e sparisce come il fiume d'Egitto,
6 He who builds his mansions in the heavens, supporting his vault on the earth; who summons thewaters of the sea and pours them over the surface of the land: Yahweh is his name.	6 che innalza nei cieli il suo soglio, e stabilisce la sua schiera sopra la terra, che chiama le acque del mare, e le spande sopra la faccia della terra, — si chiama il Signore.
7 Are not you and the Cushites all the same to me, children of Israel? - declares Yahweh. Did I not bringIsrael up from Egypt and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Aramaeans from Kir?	7 Non siete per me come i figli degli Etiopi, o figli d'Israele — dice il Signore? — Non ho fatto io uscir Israele dalla terra d'Egitto, i Filistei dalla Cappadocia, i Siri da Cirene?
8 Look, Lord Yahweh's eyes are on the sinful kingdom, I shal wipe it off the face of the earth, although Ishall not destroy the House of Jacob completely -declares Yahweh.	8 Ecco che gli occhi del Signore sono aperti sul regno peccatore, e lo sterminerò dalla faccia della terra: pure non sterminerò del tutto la casa di Giacobbe — dice il Signore.
9 For look, I shall give the command and shal shake out the House of Israel among al nations as asieve is shaken out without one grain fal ing on the ground.	9 Ecco io darò gli ordini, e farò agitare in mezzo a tutte le nazioni la casa d'Israele, come si agita il grano nel vaglio, e non cadrà in terra un granellino.
10 All the sinners of my people wil perish by the sword, who say, 'Disaster wil never approach orovertake us.'	10 Periranno di spada tutti i peccatori del mio popolo, che dicono: « Non s'accosterà, non verrà sopra di noi la sventura ».
11 On that Day, I shal rebuild the tottering hut of David, make good the gaps in it, restore its ruins andrebuild it as it was in the days of old,	11 Io rialzerò in quel giorno il tabernacolo di David, che è caduto, e richiuderò le aperture dei suoi muri, e riparerò le sue rovine, lo farò riedificare come nei tempi antichi,
12 for them to be master of what is left of Edom and of al the nations once cal ed mine -Yahwehdeclares, and he wil perform it.	12 affinché essi sian padroni degli avanzi di Edom e di tutte le nazioni, perchè su di essi è invocato il mio nome — dice il Signore che fa tali cose.
13 The days are coming- declares Yahweh- when the ploughman wil tread on the heels of the reaper,and the treader of grapes on the heels of the sower of seed, and the mountains wil run with new wine and thehil s al flow with it.	13 Ecco che vengono i giorni — dice il Signore — in cui colui che ara verrà subito dietro a chi miete e chi pigia le uve, dietro a chi getta il seme. I monti stilleranno dolcezza, e tutte le colline saran coltivate.
14 I shall restore the fortunes of my people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them, theywil plant vineyards and drink their wine, they wil lay out gardens and eat their produce.	14 Ed io farò ritornare gli esuli del mio popolo d'Israele, ed essi riedificheranno le città abbandonate e le abiteranno, e pianteranno vigne e ne berranno il vino, e faran dei giardini e ne mangeranno le frutta.
15 And I shal plant them in their own soil and they wil never be uprooted again from the country which Ihave given them, declares Yahweh, your God.	15 Ed io li pianterò nella loro terra, e non li schianterò più dalla loro terra che io ho loro data — dice il Signore, il tuo Dio.
