Leviticus 19

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 « Parla a tutta l'adunanza dei figli d'Israele e di'loro: Siate santi, perchè io, il Signore Dio vostro, sono santo.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Ognuno porti rispetto a suo padre e a sua madre. Osservate i miei sabati. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Non vi rivolgete agli idoli, non vi fate degli dèi di getto. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Se per averlo propizio, immolate al Signore un'ostia pacifica,
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 la mangerete il giorno in cui è stata, immolata e il giorno dopo, ma brucerete tutto quello che rimarrà pel terzo giorno.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Chi ne mangiasse dopo duo gioirli sarà profano e reo d'empietà,
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 e siccome ha profanato ciò che è sacro al Signore, porterà la sua iniquità e perirà di mezzo al sito popolo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Quando mieterai i tuoi campi, non mietere tutta l'estensiono del campo, nè raccogliere le spighe tralasciate.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 E nella tua vigna non racimolare, nè raccogliere i granelli che cadono, ma lasciali che se li prendamo i poveri e i forestieri. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Non ruberete, non mentirete, e nessuno ingannerà il suo prossimo.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Non giurerai il falso, nel mio nome e non profanerai il nome del tuo Dio. Io sono il Signore.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Non calunnierai il tuo prossimo, nè l'opprimerai con violenza. Il salario del tuo operaio non resterà presso di te fino al giorno dopo.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Non maledirai il sordo, e non porrai inciampi dinanzi al cieco; ma temerai il Signore Dio tuo: io sono il Signore.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Non farai ciò che è, iniquo, ne giudicherai contro giustizia. Non a ver riguardo alla persona del povero, nè compiacere la, faccia del potente ma giudica il tuo prossimo con giustizia.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Non diventare accusatore e maldicente nel tuo popolo. Non ti leverai contro il sangue del tuo prossimo. Io sono il Signore.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Non odiar il tuo fratello nel tuo cuore, ma, riprendilo pubblicamente, per non caricarti di peccati a causa di lui.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Non vendicarti, non ricordar l'ingiuria dei tuoi concittadini. Amerai il tuo amico come te stesso. Io sono il Signore.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Osservate le mie leggi. Non accoppierai il tuo giumento con animale d'altra specie. Non seminerai il tuo campo con seme di specie diversa, nè porterai addosso veste tessuta di due materie.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Se un uomo ha commercio carnale con donna schiava, nubile e non riscattata nè fatta libera, saranno ambedue battuti, ma non morranno, perchè lei non era libera.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 L'uomo però offrirà al Signore, per il suo delitto, un montone alla porta del Tabernacolo della testimonianza;
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 Il sacerdote pregherà per lui e per il suo peccato il Signore che gli diverrà propizio, e il peccato sarà perdonato.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Quando sarete entrati nella terra e vi avrete piantati degli alberi fruttiferi, li circonciderete, cioè i frutti che producono saran per voi immondi, e non ne mangerete;
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 nel quarto anno tutto il loro frutto sarà consacrato alla gloria del Signore;
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 nel quinto anno potrete mangiarne i frutti e raccogliere tutto quello che produrranno. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Non mangerete nulla col sangue. Non praticherete divinazioni, nè osserverete i sogni.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 Non vi taglierete a tondo i capelli, nè vi raderete la barba.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 Non farete sulla vostra carne incisione per un morto, nè farete sopra di voi segni o figure. Io sono il Signore.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Non prostituire la tua figlia, chè la terra non sia contaminata e non si riempia di sceleratezze.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Osservate i miei sabati e riverite il mio Santuario, lo sono il Signore.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Non andate a rivolgervi ai maghi nè ad interrogare gl'indovini, per non contaminarvi in mezzo ad essi, lo sono il Signore Dio vostro.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Alzati dinanzi alla canizie, e rendi onore alla persona del vecchio, e temi il Signore Dio tuo. Io sono il Signore.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Se un forestiero abita nella vostra terra, non lo molestate,
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 ma trattatelo come un nativo del paese, amatelo come voi stessi: anche voi foste forestieri nella terra d'Egitto. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Non commettete ingiustizia nel giudizio, nella regola, nel peso e nella misura:
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 siano giuste le bilancie, i pesi, giusto l'efa, giusto l'hin. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro che vi trassi dalla terra d'Egitto.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Osservate tutti i miei precetti, tutti i miei ordini, e metteteli in pratica. Io sono il Signore ».
