Leviticus 19

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 "Parla a tutta la comunità dei figli d'Israele e di' loro: Siate santi, perché santo sono io, il Signore Dio vostro.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Ognuno di voi abbia riverenza per sua madre e suo padre e osservate i miei sabati. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Non volgetevi verso gl'idoli e non fatevi degli dèi di metallo fuso. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Quando offrirete sacrifici di comunione al Signore, offriteli in modo da essere graditi:
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 siano consumati nel giorno in cui li offrite o l'indomani; quanto resta sia consumato col fuoco il terzo giorno.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Se fosse mangiato il terzo giorno, è cibo corrotto e non sarà gradito.
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 Chi ne mangia porterà il peso del suo peccato, perché ha profanato quanto è sacro al Signore. Quella persona sia eliminata dal suo popolo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Quando farete la mietitura della vostra terra, non finirai di mietere i confini del campo e non spigolerai la spigolatura del tuo raccolto.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 Non racimolerai la tua vigna e non raccoglierai i grappoli caduti della tua vigna. Li lascerai al povero e al forestiero. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Non rubate, non ingannate, non mentitevi l'un l'altro.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Non giurate il falso nel mio nome. Profaneresti il nome del tuo Dio. Io sono il Signore.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Non opprimere il tuo prossimo e non derubarlo. Non resti presso di te la paga dell'operaio fino al mattino seguente.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Non maledire il sordo. Davanti al cieco non porre inciampo e temi il tuo Dio. Io sono il Signore.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Non commettere ingiustizia in giudizio; non aver riguardi per il povero e non fare onore al potente. Con giustizia giudicherai il tuo compatriota.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Non sparlerai in mezzo al tuo popolo e non ti presenterai al giudice chiedendo la testa del tuo prossimo. Io sono il Signore.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Non odiare il tuo fratello nel tuo cuore; correggi francamente il tuo compatriota e non gravarti di un peccato a causa sua.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Non vendicarti e non serbare rancore ai figli del tuo popolo. Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso. Io sono il Signore.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Osservate le mie leggi. Le tue bestie non le accoppierai tra specie diverse; nel tuo campo non seminerai specie diverse, né indosserai una veste di tessuti diversi.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Se un uomo giace con una donna schiava, promessa ad un uomo, prima che sia riscattata e che le sia data la libertà, darà un risarcimento, ma non moriranno perché la donna non è libera.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 Porterà un sacrificio di riparazione al Signore all'ingresso della tenda del convegno: un capro di riparazione.
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 Il sacerdote farà per lui il rito espiatorio con il capro di riparazione davanti al Signore, per il peccato che ha compiuto e il peccato che ha compiuto gli sarà perdonato.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Quando arriverete nella terra, qualsiasi albero fruttifero piantiate, ne considererete il frutto come il suo prepuzio: per tre anni saranno per voi come incirconcisi; non ne mangerete.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 Il quarto anno ogni suo frutto sarà sacro; farete una festa di lode al Signore.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 Il quinto anno ne mangerete il frutto; vi è concesso raccoglierne il prodotto. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Non mangiate sui monti; non praticate divinazione né incantesimi.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 Non tagliatevi in tondo l'orlo della vostra capigliatura e non rasare l'orlo della tua barba.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 Non vi farete incisioni sulla carne per un morto e non vi farete tatuaggi. Io sono il Signore.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Non profanare tua figlia, prostituendola, perché non si prostituisca la terra e non si riempia di oscenità.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Osservate i miei sabati e abbiate riverenza per il mio santuario. Io sono il Signore.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Non rivolgetevi agli spettri e agli indovini; non interrogateli, rendendovi impuri con essi. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 A'lzati davanti a una testa canuta, onora la presenza dell'anziano e temi il tuo Dio. Io sono il Signore.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Se verrà a stabilirsi presso di voi un immigrante, non molestatelo.
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 Come uno nato tra di voi sarà colui che viene a stabilirsi presso di voi. Lo amerai come te stesso, perché voi siete stati immigranti nella terra d'Egitto. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Non commettete iniquità in giudizio, nelle misure di lunghezza, di peso e di capacità.
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 Abbiate una bilancia giusta, pesi giusti, un'efa giusta, un hin giusto. Io sono il Signore Dio vostro che vi ha fatto uscire dalla terra d'Egitto.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Osservate tutte le mie leggi e tutti i miei precetti e metteteli in pratica. Io sono il Signore".
