Leviticus 19

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 "Dirás a toda a assembléia de Israel o seguinte: sede santos, porque eu, o Senhor, vosso Deus, sou santo.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Cada um de vós respeite a sua mãe e o seu pai, e guarde os meus sábados. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Não vos volteis para os ídolos, e não façais para vós deuses de metal fundido. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Quando oferecerdes ao Senhor um sacrifício pacífico, oferecê-lo-eis de maneira que seja aceito.
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 Comer-se-á a vítima no mesmo dia ou no dia seguinte; o que sobrar no terceiro dia será queimado no fogo.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Se se comer dela no terceiro dia, será uma abominação: o sacrifício não será aceito.
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 Quem o comer levará sua iniqüidade, porque terá profanado o que é consagrado ao Senhor: esse será cortado do seu povo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Quando fizerdes a ceifa em vossa terra, não cortareis as espigas até os limites de vosso campo, e não recolhereis o que resta a respigar de vossas colheitas.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 Não respigareis tampouco a vossa vinha, nem colhereis os grãos caídos no campo; deixá-los-eis para o pobre e o estrangeiro. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Não furtareis, não usareis de embustes nem de mentiras uns para com os outros.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Não jurareis falso em meu nome, porque profanaríeis o nome de vosso Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Não oprimirás o teu próximo, e não o despojarás. O salário do teu operário não ficará contigo até o dia seguinte.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Não amaldiçoarás um surdo; não porás algo como tropeço diante do cego; mas temerás o teu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Não sereis injustos em vossos juízos: não favorecerás o pobre nem terás complacência com o grande; mas segundo a justiça julgarás o teu próximo.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Não semearás a difamação no meio de teu povo, nem te apresentarás como testemunha contra a vida do teu próximo. Eu sou o Senhor.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Não odiarás o teu irmão no teu coração. Repreenderás o teu próximo para que não incorras em pecado por sua causa.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Não te vingarás; não guardarás rancor contra os filhos de teu povo. Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. Eu sou o Senhor.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Guardareis os meus mandamentos. Não juntarás animais de espécies diferentes. Não semearás no teu campo grãos de espécies diferentes. Não usarás roupas tecidas de duas espécies de fios.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Se um homem se deitar com uma mulher escrava desposada com outro, mas não resgatada nem posta em liberdade, serão ambos castigados, mas não morrerão, porque ela não era livre.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 Em expiação o homem oferecerá ao Senhor à entrada da tenda de reunião, um carneiro como sacrifício de reparação.
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 O sacerdote fará por ele a expiação diante do Senhor com o carneiro do sacrifício de reparação pelo pecado cometido; e o seu pecado lhe será perdoado.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Quando entrardes na terra e tiverdes plantado toda sorte de árvores frutíferas considerareis os seus primeiros frutos como incircuncisos; eles o serão durante três anos, e não se comerá deles.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 No quarto ano todos os seus frutos serão consagrados ao Senhor com ações de graças.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 No quinto ano comereis de seus frutos para que a árvore continue a produzi-los. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Não comereis nada que contenha sangue. Não praticareis a adivinhação nem a magia.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 Não cortareis o cabelo em redondo, nem rapareis a barba pelos lados.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 Não fareis incisões na vossa carne por um morto, nem fareis figura alguma no vosso corpo. Eu sou o Senhor.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Não prostituas tua filha, para que a terra não se entregue à prostituição e não se encha de crimes.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Observareis meus sábados e respeitareis meu santuário. Eu sou o Senhor.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Não vos dirijais aos espíritas nem aos adivinhos: não os consulteis, para que não sejais contaminados por eles. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Levanta-te diante dos cabelos brancos; honra a pessoa do velho, e teme a teu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Se um estrangeiro vier habitar convosco na vossa terra, não o oprimireis,
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 mas esteja ele entre vós como um compatriota, e tu o amarás como a ti mesmo, porque fostes já estrangeiros no Egito. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Não cometereis injustiça nos juízos, nem na vara, nem no peso, nem na medida.
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 Tereis balanças justas, pesos justos, um efá justo e um hin justo. Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus que vos tirei do Egito.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Observareis todas as minhas leis e meus mandamentos, e os praticareis. Eu sou o Senhor".
