Leviticus 19

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, dicendogli:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 «Parla a tutta l'assemblea de' figliuoli di Israele. Dirai loro: - Siate santi, perchè santo son io, Signore Dio vostro.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Ognuno tema il padre e la madre sua. Osservate i miei sabati. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Non vi rivolgete agl'idoli, e non vi fate dèi di getto. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Se immolerete al Signore un'ostia pacifica per averlo propizio,
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 mangiatela il giorno stesso in che fu immolata, ed il successivo; ma quello che avanzerebbe per il terzo giorno, bruciatelo sul fuoco.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Se uno ne mangerà passati i due giorni, sarà profano e reo d'empietà;
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 porterà la pena del suo peccato per aver violato una cosa santa del Signore, e l'anima sua verrà tolta di mezzo al suo popolo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Quando mieterai le mèssi della tua terra, non taglierai fino al piede ciò che è sulla terra, e non raccoglierai le spighe che rimarranno.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 Nella tua vigna non raccatterai i grappoli e le spighe cadute, ma le lascerai prendere ai poveri ed ai forestieri. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Non ruberete. Non mentirete, e nessuno ingannerà il suo prossimo.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Non giurerai il falso nel nome mio, e non profanerai il nome del Dio tuo. Io il Signore.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Non calunnierai il tuo prossimo, nè l'opprimerai con la forza. Non riterrai presso di te sino all'indomani la paga del tuo operaio.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Non schernirai il sordo, e non metterai inciampi davanti al cieco; ma temerai il Signore Dio tuo, perchè io sono il Signore.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Non farai quel che è ingiusto, e non giudicherai contro giustizia, nè per favorire la persona del povero, nè per ingraziarti il potente. Giudica con giustizia il tuo prossimo.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Non esser accusatore nè seminatore di sospetti nel popolo. Non ti mettere contro il sangue del prossimo tuo. Io il Signore.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Non odierai in cuor tuo il tuo fratello, ma riprendilo pubblicamente, e così non avrai peccato per causa sua.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Non chieder vendetta, e non ricordare l'ingiuria de' tuoi concittadini. Amerai il tuo amico come te stesso. Io il Signore.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Osservate le mie leggi. Non far accoppiare il tuo giumento con animali di altra specie. Non seminare insieme nel tuo campo semi diversi. Non ti metter addosso una veste tessuta di due diverse materie.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Se un uomo dormirà con una schiava promessa sposa [ad un altro] non riscattata a prezzo nè affrancata, saranno battuti ambedue; non però messi a morte, perchè essa non era libera.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 Ma costui per il suo delitto offrirà al Signore davanti al tabernacolo della testimonianza un ariete;
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 il sacerdote pregherà per lui e per il suo peccato innanzi al Signore; gli verrà fatta misericordia, e perdonato il peccato.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Quando sarete entrati nella terra [promessa], e vi pianterete alberi da frutto, li circonciderete; [cioè a dire] i frutti che produrranno saranno immondi per voi e non ne mangerete.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 Il quarto anno, ogni loro frutto sarà riservato in omaggio al Signore.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 Col quinto anno, ne mangerete i frutti, e raccoglierete i pomi che essi faranno. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Non mangerete [carni] col sangue. Non trarrete augurii, nè darete retta ai sogni;
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 non vi taglierete i capelli in tondo, nè la barba [sui lati].
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 Alla morte di qualcuno non vi farete incisioni sulla carne, nè figure o disegni. Io il Signore.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Non prostituire la tua figliuola, acciò la terra non ne resti contaminata, e carica d'empietà.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Osservate i miei sabati, e temete il mio santuario. Io il Signore.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Non vi rivolgete ai maghi, e non consultate per niente gl'indovini in modo da esserne contaminati. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Innanzi ad un capo canuto, alzati in piedi; onora la persona del vecchio, e temi il Signore Dio tuo. Io sono il Signore.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Se un forestiero abiterà nella vostra terra, e prenderà dimora fra voi, non lo disprezzate;
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 ma sia tra voi come un indigeno, ed amatelo come voi medesimi, giacchè foste anche voi forestieri nella terra d'Egitto. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Non commettete ingiustizia alcuna ne' giudizi, nelle lunghezze, nei pesi, nelle misure.
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 Sia giusta la stadera co' suoi pesi, giusto il moggio e il sestario. Io il Signore Dio vostro, che vi trassi dalla terra d'Egitto.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Custodite tutti i miei comandamenti e tutte le leggi, e mettetele in pratica. Io il Signore -».
