Leviticus 19

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 Parla a tutta l'adunanza de' figliuoli d’Israele, e dirai loro: Siate santi, perocché santo son io il Signore Dio vostro.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Onori ciascheduno il padre suo, e la madre sua: osservate i miei sabati. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Non vi rivolgete a' simulacri, e non vogliate farvi degli dii di getto. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Se immolate al Signore un'ostia pacifica affin d’averlo propizio,
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 Nel dì, in cui fu immolata, e nel dì appresso la mangerete: tutto quello poi che ne resti il terzo giorno lo darete alle fiamme.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Chi dopo i due giorni ne mangerà, sarà profano, e reo d'empietà.
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 E pagherà il fio di sua iniquità per aver profanato il Santo del Signore, ed ei sarà sterminato dalla società del suo popolo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Quando tu segherai la messe de' tuoi campi, non mieterai fino a terra tutta la superficie delle tue terre: né raccoglierai le spighe, che potranno restarvi.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 E nella tua vigna non coglierai i raspolli, né prenderai i granelli che cadono: ma lascerai, che li prendano i poveri e i pellegrini. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Non ruberete. Non direte bugia, e nissuno ingannerà il suo prossimo.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Non ispergiurerai nel mio nome, e non profanerai il nome del Dio tuo. Io il Signore.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Non defraudare il prossimo tuo, e non lo opprimere con prepotenza. La paga dell'operaio che lavora per te, non resterà in tua mano sino al dì di poi.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Non parlerai male d'un sordo, e non porrai inciampo tra' piedi del cieco; ma temerai il Signore Dio tuo, perché io sono il Signore.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Non farai ingiustizia, e non pronunzierai ingiusta sentenza. Non avere riguardo alla persona del povero, e non aver soggezione della faccia dell'uom possente. Giudica il prossimo tuo con giustizia.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Non sarai maldicente, né soffione nel popol tuo. Non cospirerai contro il sangue del prossimo tuo. Io il Signore.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Non odierai il tuo fratello in cuor tuo; ma riprendilo pubblicamente, affinché tu non incorra per causa di lui in peccato.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Non cercar la vendetta, e non conservar la memoria dell'ingiuria de' tuoi concittadini. Amerai l'amico tuo come te stesso. Io il Signore.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Osservate le mie leggi. Non accoppierai il tuo giumento con animale d'altra specie. Non seminerai il tuo campo con seme vario: non ti vestirai d'una vesta tessuta di due materie.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Se un uomo ha che fare con una donna, che sia schiava, e nubile prima che sia riscattata, e fatta libera, saranno battuti ambedue; ma non morranno, perché colei non era libera:
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 Ma quegli offerirà al Signore pel suo delitto un ariete alla porta del tabernacolo del testimonio:
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 E il sacerdote farà orazione per lui e pel suo peccato dinanzi al Signore, e troverà clemenza, e gli sarà rimesso il peccato.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Quando sarete entrati in quella terra, e vi avrete piantati degli alberi fruttiferi, voi rigetterete le prime frutta, che quelli produrranno, le quali avrete per immonde, e non ne mangerete.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 Il quarto anno poi tutti i loro frutti saranno consacrati alla gloria del Signore.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 Il quinto anno ne mangerete i frutti, e raccoglierete tutto quello che ei produrranno. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Non mangerete carni, dentro le quali sia il sangue. Non farete augurii, e non darete retta a' sogni.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 Non vi taglierete i capelli in tondo: e non vi raderete la barba.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 Non farete incisioni sulla vostra carne a causa d’un morto; e non farete figure o segno sopra di voi. Io il Signore.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Non prostituire la tua figliuola, affinché non si contamini la terra, e non si riempia di scelleraggini.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Osservate i miei sabati, e riverite il mio santuario. Io il Signore.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Non andate dietro ai maghi, e non interrogate gli indovini, perocché eglino vi corromperebbero. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Alzati dinanzi alla canizie, e rendi onore alla persona del vecchio: e temi il Signore Dio tuo. Io sono il Signore.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Se un forestiero abita nel vostro paese, e fa sua dimora tra di voi, non lo rimprocciate:
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 Ma sia tra voi, come se tra voi fosse nato, e amatelo come voi stessi: perocché voi pure foste forestieri nella terra d'Egitto. Io il Signore Dio vostro.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Non fate ingiustizia nei vostri giudizii, nella canna, nel peso, nella misura.
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 La stadera, e i pesi sien giusti: giusto l'epha, e l'hin. Io il Signore Dio vostro, che vi trassi dalla terra d’Egitto.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Osservate tutti i miei precetti, e tutti i miei ordini, e mettetegli in pratica. Io il Signore.
