Leviticus 19

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 Habla en estos términos a toda la comunidad de Israel: Ustedes serán santos, porque yo, el Señor su Dios, soy santo.
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Respetarán a su madre y a su padre, y observarán mis sábados. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 No se volverán hacia los ídolos ni se fabricarán dioses de metal fundido. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Cuando ofrezcan al Señor un sacrificio de comunión, lo harán de tal manera que les sea aceptado.
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 La víctima deberá ser comida el mismo día en que ofrezcan el sacrificio, o al día siguiente, y lo que quede para el tercer día, será quemado.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Y si alguien come algo al tercer día, la víctima no le será aceptada, porque se ha convertido en algo nocivo.
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 El que la coma, cargará con su culpa, porque ha profanado lo que está consagrado al Señor: esa persona será excluida de su pueblo.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 En el momento de recoger la cosecha, no segarás todo el campo hasta sus bordes, ni volverás a buscar las espigas que queden.
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 No sacarás hasta el último racimo de tu viña ni recogerás los frutos caídos, sino que los dejarás para el pobre y el extranjero. Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Ustedes no robarán, no mentirán ni se engañarán unos a otros.
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 No jurarán en falso por mi Nombre, porque profanarían el nombre de su Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 No oprimirás a tu prójimo ni lo despojarás; y no retendrás hasta la mañana siguiente el salario del jornalero.
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 No insultarás a un ciego, sino que temerás a tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 No cometerás ninguna injusticia en los juicios. No favorecerás arbitrariamente al pobre ni te mostrarás complaciente con el rico: juzgarás a tu prójimo con justicia.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 No difamarás a tus compatriotas, ni pondrás en peligro la vida de tu prójimo. Yo soy el señor.
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 No odiarás a tu hermano en tu corazón: deberás reprenderlo convenientemente, para no cargar con un pecado a causa de él.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 No serás vengativo con tus compatriotas ni les guardarás rencor. Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Yo soy el Señor.
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Ustedes observarán mis preceptos. No cruzarás tu ganado con animales de otra especie. No sembrarás en tu campo dos clases distintas de semilla. No usarás ropa confeccionada con materiales diversos.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Si un hombre tiene relaciones sexuales con una esclava reservada a otro hombre, pero que no ha sido rescatada ni puesta en libertad, se pagará una indemnización: ellos no serán castigados con la pena de muerte, porque la mujer no es libre.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 El hombre llevará un carnero a la entrada de la Carpa del Encuentro, como sacrificio de reparación al Señor.
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 El sacerdote practicará con el carnero el rito de expiación en favor de ese hombre, delante del Señor, por el pecado que cometió, y el pecado le será perdonado.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Cuando entren en la tierra y planten árboles frutales de todas clases, deberán considerar sus frutos como algo prohibido: durante tres años los dejarán incircuncisos, y no se los podrá comer.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 Al cuarto año, todos sus frutos serán consagrados en una fiesta de alabanza al Señor.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 Y sólo en el quinto año, podrán comer los frutos y almacenar el producto para provecho de ustedes mismos. Yo soy el señor, su Dios.
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 Ustedes no comerán nada que tenga sangre. No practicarán la magia ni la adivinación.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 No se cortarán el borde de la cabellera en forma de círculo, ni cortarás el borde de tu barba.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 No se harán incisiones en la carne a causa de los muertos, ni tampoco se harán tatuajes. Yo soy el Señor.
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 No profanarás a tu hija, prostituyéndola, no sea que también la tierra se prostituya y se llene de depravación.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Observarán mis sábados y respetarán mi Santuario. Yo soy el Señor.
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 No acudirán a los espíritus de los muertos ni consultarán a otros espíritus, haciéndose impuros a causa de ellos. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Te levantarás delante del anciano, y serás respetuoso con las personas de edad. Así temerás a tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Cuando un extranjero resida contigo en tu tierra, no lo molestarás.
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 El será para ustedes como uno de sus compatriotas y lo amarás como a ti mismo, porque ustedes fueron extranjeros en Egipto. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 No cometerán ninguna injusticia en los juicios, ni falsearán las medidas de longitud, de peso o de capacidad.
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 Ustedes deberán tener una balanza justa, una pesa justa y una medida justa. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios, que los hice salir de Egipto.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Observen fielmente todos mis preceptos y todas mis leyes. Yo soy el Señor.
