Leviticus 19

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Így szól az Úr Mózeshez:
2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.	2 »Szólj Izrael fiainak egész gyülekezetéhez és mondd nekik: Szentek legyetek, mert én, az Úr, a ti Istenetek, szent vagyok!
3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.	3 Ki-ki tisztelje atyját és anyját. Szombatjaimat tartsátok meg: én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek.
4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.	4 Ne forduljatok a bálványok felé, és ne csináljatok magatoknak öntött isteneket: én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek.
5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.	5 Ha békeáldozatot vágtok az Úrnak, akkor, hogy az kedves legyen,
6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.	6 aznap, amelyen levágjátok, meg a következőn meg kell ennetek: ami harmadnapra marad belőle, azt égessétek el tűzben.
7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.	7 Ha valaki a két nap után eszik belőle, szentségtelen lesz és istentelenségben vétkes;
8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.	8 viselje is gonoszságát, mert megszentségtelenítette az Úr szentségét: vesszen el az ilyen ember népéből.
9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;	9 Amikor földed terményeit aratod, ne arasd le egész a föld színéig és ne szedd össze az elmaradt kalászokat;
10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.	10 szőlődben se szedd össze az elmaradt gerezdeket, s a lehullott szemeket: hadd szedjék össze a szegények és a jövevények – én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek.
11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.	11 Ne lopjatok, ne tagadjatok le semmit és ne csalja meg egyiktek a másikat!
12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.	12 Ne esküdjél nevemre hamisan, hogy meg ne szentségtelenítsd Istened nevét – én vagyok az Úr!
13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.	13 Ne keress ürügyet felebarátod ellen, és erőszakkal se nyomd el őt! Napszámosod bére ne maradjon reggelig tenálad!
14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.	14 Ne átkozz süketet és ne tégy gáncsot vak elé: féld az Urat, a te Istenedet – mert én vagyok az Úr!
15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.	15 Ne kövess el jogtalanságot és ne ítélj igazságtalanul! Ne nézd a szegény személyét, s ne légy tekintettel a hatalmas arcára: igazság szerint ítélj felebarátodnak.
16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.	16 Ne légy rágalmazó, se besúgó a nép között. Ne törj felebarátod vérére – én vagyok az Úr!
17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.	17 Ne gyűlöld testvéredet szívedben, hanem fedd meg nyíltan, hogy ne legyen bűnöd miatta.
18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.	18 Ne állj bosszút, s ne emlékezzél meg polgártársaid igazságtalanságáról: szeresd felebarátodat, mint te magadat – én vagyok az Úr!
19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.	19 Tartsátok meg törvényeimet. Ne párosítsd állatodat másféle állattal, ne vesd be szántódat kétféle maggal, ne öltözzél kétféléből szőtt ruhába.
20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.	20 Ha valaki olyan asszonnyal hál és közösül, aki másnak sem váltságdíjjal ki nem váltott, sem szabadsággal meg nem ajándékozott rabszolganője és jegyese: veréssel lakoljanak mind a ketten, de halállal ne bűnhődjenek, mert a nő nem volt szabad.
21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,	21 Vétkéért pedig vigyen a férfi áldozatul egy kost az Úrnak, a bizonyság sátrának ajtajához,
22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.	22 s a pap könyörögjön érte és vétkéért az Úr előtt, s ő megkegyelmez neki és megbocsátja bűnét.
23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;	23 Ha majd bejuttok földetekre és gyümölcsfákat ültettek rajta, ne távolítsátok el előbőrüket, azaz az első gyümölcsüket; a gyümölcs, amelyet hoznak, tisztátalan legyen nektek: ne egyetek belőle.
24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;	24 A negyedik esztendőben pedig minden gyümölcsüket hálaadásul az Úrnak kell szentelni.
25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.	25 Az ötödik esztendőben aztán egyétek gyümölcsüket és gyűjtsétek be a termést, amelyet hoznak. Én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek!
26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.	26 A vérével semmit ne egyetek. Ne jósolgassatok, álmokra ne adjatok.
27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.	27 Hajatokat ne vágjátok kerekre, szakállatokat le ne nyírjátok.
28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.	28 Halott miatt testeteket be ne vagdaljátok, semmiféle jelet vagy bélyeget se csináljatok magatokra. Én vagyok az Úr!
29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.	29 Lányodat ne add paráználkodásra, hogy gyalázatossá ne legyen az ország, s meg ne teljék gonoszsággal.
30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	30 Szombatjaimat tartsátok meg, s szentélyemet féljétek. Én vagyok az Úr!
31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.	31 Ne forduljatok a halottidézőkhöz és semmit se kérdezzetek a jósoktól, hogy tisztátalanná ne tegyétek magatokat általuk. Én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek!
32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.	32 Ősz fő előtt kelj fel, s tiszteld az öreg ember személyét: félj az Úrtól, a te Istenedtől: én vagyok az Úr!
33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.	33 Ha jövevény lakik földeteken, s tartózkodik köztetek, ne tegyetek szemrehányást neki:
34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.	34 olyan legyen köztetek, mint a bennszülött, s úgy szeressétek, mint önmagatokat, hisz ti is jövevények voltatok Egyiptom földjén. Én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek!
35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.	35 Ne kövessetek el jogtalanságot az ítéletben, a hosszmértékben, a súlymértékben s az űrmértékben:
36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;	36 igaz mérleg, igaz súly, igaz véka, igaz meszely legyen köztetek. Én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek, aki kihoztalak titeket Egyiptom földjéről.
37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '	37 Tartsátok meg minden parancsomat s minden rendeletemet s mindent azok szerint tegyetek: én vagyok az Úr!«
