Leviticus 14

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et lui dit:
2 'This is the law to be applied on the day of the purification of someone who has suffered from acontagious skin-disease. Such a person wil be taken to the priest,	2 “Voici la loi pour le jour de la purification du lépreux, quand on le conduit au prêtre.
3 and the priest wil go outside the camp. If he finds on examination that the person has recovered fromthe disease,	3 Le prêtre sortira du camp pour l’examiner et devra vérifier que la plaie de lèpre est guérie.
4 he wil order the fol owing to be brought for his purification: two live birds that are clean, some cedar wood, scarlet material and hyssop.	4 Alors le prêtre ordonnera qu’on prenne pour celui qui doit être purifié, deux oiseaux purs, vivants, du bois de cèdre, du cramoisi et de l’hysope.
5 He will then order one of the birds to be slaughtered in an earthenware pot over running water.	5 Le prêtre ordonnera d’immoler le premier oiseau sur un vase d’argile, au-dessus d’une eau vive.
6 He will then take the live bird, the cedar wood, the scarlet material and the hyssop and dip all this(including the live bird) into the blood of the bird slaughtered over running water.	6 Il prendra l’oiseau encore vivant, le bois de cèdre, le cramoisi et l’hysope, et il plongera le tout dans le sang de l’oiseau immolé au-dessus de l’eau vive.
7 He will then sprinkle the person to be purified of the skin-disease seven times, and having declared theperson clean, wil set the live bird free to fly off into the countryside.	7 Ensuite il aspergera sept fois celui qui doit être purifié de la lèpre; il le déclarera pur et lâchera l’oiseau vivant en pleine campagne.
8 The person who is being purified will then wash al clothing, shave off al hair, and wash, and wil thenbe clean. After this he will return to the camp, although he wil remain outside his tent for seven days.	8 Celui qui aura été purifié lavera ses vêtements, rasera tout son poil et se baignera dans l’eau: alors il sera pur et il pourra rentrer au camp. Mais il devra d’abord rester sept jours hors de sa tente.
9 On the seventh day he wil shave off all his hair-head, beard and eyebrows; he wil shave off al hishair. After washing his clothing and his body he wil be clean.	9 Le septième jour il se rasera de nouveau: il rasera sa tête, son menton et ses sourcils. Il rasera tout son poil, lavera ses vêtements et se baignera dans l’eau: il sera pur.
10 'On the eighth day he wil take two unblemished lambs, an unblemished ewe one year old, three-tenths of wheaten flour mixed with oil for the cereal offering, and one log of oil.	10 Le huitième jour il prendra deux agneaux sans défaut, une petite brebis née dans l’année, sans défaut, trois mesures de fleur de farine arrosée d’huile pour l’offrande, et une mesure d’huile.
11 The priest who is performing the purification will place the person who is being purified, with all hisofferings, at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh.	11 Le prêtre qui fait la purification présentera l’homme qui vient pour se purifier, ainsi que ses offrandes, devant Yahvé à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
12 He wil then take one of the lambs and offer it as a sacrifice of reparation, as also the log of oil. Withthese he wil make the gesture of offering before Yahweh.	12 Le prêtre prendra alors le premier agneau et la mesure d’huile; il les offrira en sacrifice de réparation et les balancera solennellement devant Yahvé.
13 He wil then slaughter the lamb on that spot inside the holy place where the victims for the sacrificefor sin and for the burnt offering are slaughtered. This reparatory offering, like the sacrifice for sin, wil revert tothe priest: it is especially holy.	13 Il immolera l’agneau à l’endroit où l’on immole les sacrifices pour le péché et l’holocauste, dans un lieu pur, car la victime de réparation est pour le prêtre, comme le sacrifice pour le péché: c’est une chose très sainte.
14 The priest wil then take some blood of this sacrifice and put it on the lobe of the right ear, the thumbof the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person who is being purified.	14 Le prêtre prendra alors du sang du sacrifice de réparation, il en mettra sur l’oreille droite de celui qui vient pour être purifié, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.
15 He wil then take the log of oil and pour a little into the hol ow of his left hand.	15 Le prêtre prendra ensuite la mesure d’huile et il en versera dans sa main gauche.
16 He wil dip a finger of his right hand into the oil in the hollow of his left hand, and sprinkle the oil withhis finger seven times before Yahweh.	16 Il trempera son doigt de la main droite dans l’huile qui est dans sa main gauche et, avec son doigt, il fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé.
17 He wil then take some of the oil left in the hollow of his hand and put it on the lobe of the right ear,the thumb of the right hand, and the big toe of the right foot of the person being purified, in addition to the bloodof the sacrifice of reparation.	17 Avec le reste de l’huile qui est dans sa main, le prêtre fera une onction sur l’oreille droite de celui qui se purifie, par dessus le sang du sacrifice de réparation.
18 The rest of the oil in the hol ow of his hand he will put on the head of the person who is being purified.This is how the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for such a person before Yahweh.	18 Et ce qui reste d’huile dans la main du prêtre, il le mettra sur la tête de celui qui se purifie en demandant pour lui miséricorde.
19 'The priest wil then offer the sacrifice for sin, and perform the rite of expiation for uncleanness for theperson who is being purified. After this, he wil slaughter the burnt offering	19 Le prêtre fera alors le rite de l’expiation et de la réparation sur celui qui se purifie de son impureté, après quoi il immolera l’holocauste.
20 and offer this and the cereal offering on the altar. So, when the priest has performed the rite ofexpiation for him the person wil be clean.	20 Le prêtre fera fumer l’holocauste et l’offrande sur l’autel, puis il demandera pour lui miséricorde: alors il sera pur.
21 'If he is poor and cannot afford al this, he need take only one lamb, the one for the sacrifice ofreparation, and this will be presented with the gesture of offering to perform the rite of expiation for him. And forthe cereal offering he wil only take one-tenth of wheaten flour mixed with oil, and the log of oil,	21 La personne pauvre, qui n’a que peu de moyens, prendra un seul agneau pour le sacrifice de réparation: ce sera une offrande balancée, pour la réparation de son impureté. Elle ne prendra qu’une mesure de fleur de farine pétrie dans l’huile pour l’offrande, une mesure d’huile,
22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever he can afford, one for a sacrifice for sin and theother for the burnt offering.	22 deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons selon ses moyens: l’un pour le sacrifice pour le péché, l’autre pour l’holocauste.
23 He wil bring these on the eighth day to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting beforeYahweh, for his purification.	23 Le huitième jour il les apportera au prêtre pour sa purification, à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous, devant Yahvé.
24 The priest wil take the lamb for the sacrifice of reparation and the log of oil, and present them beforeYahweh with the gesture of offering.	24 Alors le prêtre prendra l’agneau pour le sacrifice de réparation et la mesure d’huile, et il les balancera devant Yahvé.
25 He wil then slaughter the lamb for the sacrifice of reparation, take some of its blood and put it on thelobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the big toe of the right foot of the person who is beingpurified.	25 Après avoir immolé l’agneau du sacrifice de réparation, le prêtre prendra du sang du sacrifice de réparation et en mettra sur l’oreille droite de celui qui vient se purifier, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.
26 He wil pour the oil into the hol ow of his left hand,	26 Le prêtre versera ensuite de l’huile dans sa main gauche,
27 and with his finger sprinkle the oil in the hol ow of his left hand seven times before Yahweh.	27 il prendra avec le doigt de sa main droite de l’huile dans sa main gauche et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé.
28 He wil then put some of the oil on the lobe of the right ear, the thumb of the right hand and the bigtoe of the right foot of the person who is being purified, as he did with the blood of the sacrifice of reparation.	28 Le prêtre mettra de l’huile qui est dans sa main sur l’oreille droite de celui qui vient se purifier, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit, à l’endroit où il a déjà mis le sang de la victime de réparation.
29 The remainder of the oil in the hol ow of his hand he wil put on the head of the person who is beingpurified, thus performing the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh.	29 Ce qui restera d’huile dans la main du prêtre, il la mettra sur la tête de celui qui vient se purifier et demandera pour lui miséricorde.
30 Of the two turtledoves or two young pigeons -- whatever he has been able to afford -- he wil offer	30 Il offrira l’une des tourterelles ou l’un des jeunes pigeons qu’il aura amenés en sacrifice pour le péché,
31 a sacrifice for sin with one, and with the other a burnt offering with a cereal offering -- whatever hehas been able to afford. This is how the priest will perform before Yahweh the rite of expiation for the person whois being purified.	31 l’autre sera immolé en holocauste, avec l’offrande. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera devant Yahvé l’expiation pour celui qui vient se purifier.
32 'Such is the law concerning someone with a contagious skin-disease who cannot afford the means ofpurification.'	32 Voilà la loi pour la purification du lépreux dont les moyens sont modestes.”
33 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said:	33 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron et leur dit:
34 'When you reach Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, if I infect a house with adisease in the country which you are to possess,	34 “Lorsque vous entrerez dans le pays de Canaan et que vous le posséderez, si je frappe de la lèpre une maison du pays que vous possédez,
35 the owner wil come and inform the priest and say, "I have seen something like a skin-disease in thehouse."	35 le propriétaire de la maison viendra dire au prêtre: J’ai vu comme une tache de lèpre dans la maison.
36 The priest wil order the house to be emptied before he goes to examine the infection, or everything inthe house wil become unclean; after which, the priest wil go inside and examine the house;	36 Le prêtre, avant d’entrer, ordonnera de vider toute la maison pour que rien de ce qui est dedans ne soit impur. Ensuite le prêtre entrera pour voir la maison.
37 and if on examination he finds the wal s of the house pitted with reddish or greenish depressionswhich appear to be eating away the wall,	37 Il regardera la tache et, si cette tache fait sur les murs de la maison, comme des crevasses profondes vertes ou rouges,
38 the priest wil then go out of the house, to the door, and shut it up for seven days.	38 il fermera la maison pour sept jours.
39 On the seventh day, the priest will come back and if on examination he finds that the infection hasspread over the walls of the house,	39 Le septième jour le prêtre reviendra et examinera: si la tache s’est développée sur les murs de la maison,
40 he wil order the infected stones to be removed and thrown into some unclean place outside the town.	40 le prêtre ordonnera d’enlever toutes les pierres à l’endroit de la tache et de les jeter hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.
41 He wil then have all the inside of the house scraped, and the plaster that comes off will be emptied inan unclean place outside the town.	41 Il fera ensuite gratter tout l’intérieur de la maison. On répandra la poussière que l’on aura grattée à l’extérieur de la ville dans un lieu impur,
42 The stones wil then be replaced with new ones and the house given a new coat of plaster.	42 on remplacera les pierres qu’on a enlevées par de nouvelles pierres, on prendra un nouvel enduit et on en crépira la maison.
43 'If the infection spreads again after the stones have been removed and the house scraped andreplastered,	43 Mais voilà: la tache recommence à se développer dans la maison; pourtant on a enlevé les pierres et on a gratté la maison, on a mis un nouvel enduit.
44 the priest wil come and examine it. If he finds that the infection has spread, this means that there is acontagious disease in the house: it is unclean.	44 Dans ce cas le prêtre entrera pour examiner la maison: si la tache s’est développée, c’est une lèpre caractérisée dans la maison: elle est impure.
45 It must be pul ed down and the stones, woodwork and al the plaster be taken to an unclean placeoutside the town.	45 Alors on démolira la maison: ses pierres, ses charpentes et tout le mortier de la maison seront jetés hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.
46 'Anyone who enters the house while it is closed wil be unclean until evening.	46 Celui qui sera entré dans la maison pendant le temps où elle a été condamnée, sera impur jusqu’au soir.
47 Anyone who sleeps there wil wash his clothes. Anyone who eats there will wash his clothes.	47 Celui qui aura dormi ou mangé dans la maison, lavera ses habits.
48 But if the priest finds, when he comes to examine the infection, that it has not spread in the housesince it was plastered, he wil declare the house clean, for the infection is cured.	48 Si le prêtre entre et voit que, depuis le nouvel enduit, la tache ne s’est pas développée dans la maison, il déclarera la maison pure: la tache est guérie.
49 'As a sacrifice for the defilement of the house, he wil take two birds, some cedar wood, scarletmaterial and hyssop.	49 Pour faire le rite de réparation pour la maison, le prêtre prendra deux oiseaux, du bois de cèdre, du cramoisi et de l’hysope.
50 He wil slaughter one of the birds in an earthenware pot over running water.	50 Il immolera le premier oiseau sur un vase d’argile au-dessus d’une eau vive.
51 He wil then take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet material and the live bird, dip them into theblood of the slaughtered bird and into the running water and sprinkle the house seven times;	51 Il prendra ensuite le bois de cèdre, l’hysope, le cramoisi et l’oiseau vivant; il les plongera dans le sang de l’oiseau immolé au-dessus de l’eau vive et, par sept fois, il fera l’aspersion de la maison.
52 and after offering the sacrifice for the defilement of the house with the blood of the bird, the runningwater, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the scarlet material,	52 Il fera le rite de la réparation pour la maison avec le sang de l’oiseau et avec l’eau vive, avec l’oiseau vivant, le bois de cèdre, l’hysope et le cramoisi.
53 he wil set the live bird free to fly out of the town into the countryside. Once the rite of expiation hasbeen performed for the house in this way it wil be clean.	53 Il lâchera alors l’oiseau vivant en dehors de la ville, en pleine campagne, et c’est ainsi qu’il fera le rite de réparation pour la maison: alors elle sera pure.
54 'Such is the law governing all kinds of skin-disease and tinea,	54 Voilà la loi concernant la tache de lèpre,
55 diseases of clothing and houses,	55 la lèpre du vêtement ou de la maison,
56 swel ings, scabs and spots. It defines the occasions when things are unclean and when clean.	56 qu’il s’agisse de la tumeur, des plaques ou des taches;
57 Such is the law on skin-diseases.'	57 ainsi on saura le jour où l’on est impur et le jour où l’on est pur. C’est la loi sur la lèpre.”
