Leviticus 11

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè e ad Aronne, dicendo:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 « Dite ai figli d'Israele: Questi sono gli animali che voi potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie della terra.
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 Dei quadrupedi mangerete tutti quelli che hanno l'unghia fessa e ruminano.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Però quelli che ruminano e hanno l'unghia, ma non fessa, come il cammello e gli altri, non li mangerete e li conterete fra gli animali immondi.
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 Così il coregrillo, che rumina ma non ha l'unghia fessa, è immondo.
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 Parimente la lepre, che rumina, sì, ma non ha l'unghia fessa.
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 Anche il porco, il quale ha l'unghia fessa, ma non rumina.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 Non mangerete le carni di questi animali e non toccherete i loro corpi morti, perchè per voi sono immondi.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 Ecco gli animali acquatici dei quali è lecito mangiare: tutti quelli che hanno pinne e scaglie, sia nel mare che nei fiumi e negli stagni, li mangerete;
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 ma, tra gli animali che si muovono e vivono nelle acque, tutto ciò che non ha pinne e scaglie sarà abominevole per voi.
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 Li avrete in esecrazione, non mangeiete le loro carni, eviterete i loro corpi morti:
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 tutti gli animali acquatici che non hanno pinne e scaglie saranno impuri.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 Tra gli uccelli ecco quelli che non dovete mangiare e devono essere evitati: l'aquila, il grifone, l'aquila marina,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 il nibbio, l'avoltoio secondo la sua specie;
15 all kinds of raven,	15 ogni specie di corvo e simili,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, lo sparviere secondo la sua specie,
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 il gufo, lo smergo, l'ibi,
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 il cigno, l'onocrotalo, il porfirione,
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 la cicogna, il carardio secondo la sua specie, l'upupa e il pipistrello.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Tra i volatili ogni animale che poggia su quattro piedi sarà abominevole per voi.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Però ogni animale che cammina bensì a quattro piedi, ma ha le gambe posteriori, colle quali salta sopra la terra, più lunghe,
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 lo potete mangiare: tal è il bruco nella sua specie, l'attaco, l'ofiomaco e la cavalletta, ciascuno nella sua specie.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 Ma tra i volatili tutti quelli che han soltanto quattro piedi, saran per voi in esecrazione:
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 chiunque toccherà i loro corpi morti resterà contaminato, e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 Se poi sarà necessario che egli porti uno di tali animali morto, laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino al tramonto del sole.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 Ogni animale che ha l'unghia, ma non l'ha fessa, e non rumina, sarà immondo, e chi lo toccherà sarà contaminato.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 Fra tutti gli animali che camminano a quattro piedi saranno immondi quelli che camminano sopra le loro mani: chi toccherà i loro corpi morti sarà impuro fino alla sera.
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 E chi avrà portato simili cadaveri laverà le sue vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera, perchè tutti questi sono immondi per voi.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 Tra gli animali che si muovono sopra la terra saranno annoverati fra gli immondi anche questi: la mustela, il topo, il coccodrillo, ciascuno secondo la sua specie;
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 il migaie, il camaleonte, lo stellione, la lucertola, la talpa.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Tutti questi animali sono immondi: chi ne toccherà i corpi morti sarà immondo fino alla sera;
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 qualunque oggetto sul quale cada qualche cosa dei loro corpi morti resterà contaminato, vaso di legno, o veste, o pelle, o tessuto di peli che sia, per qualunque scopo è usato, si laverà nell'acqua e sarà immondo fino alla sera, ma dopo resterà purificato.
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 Invece il vaso di terra dentro il quale sia caduta una di tali cose resterà contaminato e deve quindi spezzarsi.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 Ogni cibo che mangiate, se vi sarà versata sopra dell'acqua, sarà immondo; ogni liquido che si beve in qualsiasi di questi vasi sarà immondo.
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 Qualunque cosa di tali bestie morte cada sopra un vaso, questo sarà immondo. Se si tratti di fornelli e di marmitte, saranno immondi e dovranno spezzarsi;
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 ma le fontane, le cisterne e tutti i serbatoi d'acqua saranno mondi. Chi toccherà il corpo morto di questi animali sarà immondo.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 Se ne cade sopra la semente, non la renderà immonda;
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 ma se uno versa dell'acqua sopra la semente, e questa poi vien toccata da uno di questi corpi morti, sarà subito contaminata.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 Se uno degli animali, che vi è permesso mangiare, muore da sè, chi ne toccherà il cadavere sarà immondo fino alla sera;
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 e chi ne avrà mangiato o ne avrà portato qualche parte laverà le sue vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Tutto ciò che striscia sulla terra sarà abominevole e non sarà usato come nutrimento.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 Di qualunque rettile, o che abbia quattro piedi o molti, o strisci sopra la terra, non ve ne ciberete, perchè è abominevole.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 Non vogliate contaminare le vostre anime, non toccate alcuna di queste cose, per non diventare immondi.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Siccome io sono il Signore Dio vostro, siate santi, perchè io sono santo; e non contaminate le anime vostre con nessun rettile che striscia sopra la terra.
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 Io sono il Signore che vi ho tratti dalla terra d'Egitto per essere il vostro Dio; e voi sarete santi, perchè io sono santo.
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 Questa è la legge intorno alle bestie e ai volatili e a tutti gli animali viventi che guizzano nell'acqua o striscian sopra la terra,
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 afinchè sappiate discernere il mondo dall'immondo, e conosciate quel che dovete mangiare o rifiutare ».
