Leviticus 11

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e ad Aronne e disse loro:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 «Parlate agli Israeliti dicendo: “Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie che sono sulla terra.
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 Potrete mangiare di ogni quadrupede che ha l’unghia bipartita, divisa da una fessura, e che rumina.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Ma fra i ruminanti e gli animali che hanno l’unghia divisa, non mangerete i seguenti: il cammello, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia divisa, lo considererete impuro;
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 l’iràce, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia divisa, lo considererete impuro;
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 la lepre, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia divisa, la considererete impura;
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 il porco, perché ha l’unghia bipartita da una fessura, ma non rumina, lo considererete impuro.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 Non mangerete la loro carne e non toccherete i loro cadaveri; li considererete impuri.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 Fra tutti gli animali acquatici ecco quelli che potrete mangiare: potrete mangiare tutti quelli, di mare o di fiume, che hanno pinne e squame.
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 Ma di tutti gli animali che si muovono o vivono nelle acque, nei mari e nei fiumi, quanti non hanno né pinne né squame saranno per voi obbrobriosi.
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 Essi saranno per voi obbrobriosi; non mangerete la loro carne e riterrete obbrobriosi i loro cadaveri.
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 Tutto ciò che non ha né pinne né squame nelle acque sarà per voi obbrobrioso.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 Fra i volatili saranno obbrobriosi questi, che non dovrete mangiare, perché obbrobriosi: l’aquila, l’avvoltoio e l’aquila di mare,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 il nibbio e ogni specie di falco,
15 all kinds of raven,	15 ogni specie di corvo,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano e ogni specie di sparviero,
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 il gufo, l’alcione, l’ibis,
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 il cigno, il pellicano, la fòlaga,
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 la cicogna, ogni specie di airone, l’ùpupa e il pipistrello.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Sarà per voi obbrobrioso anche ogni insetto alato che cammina su quattro piedi.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Però fra tutti gli insetti alati che camminano su quattro piedi, potrete mangiare quelli che hanno due zampe sopra i piedi, per saltare sulla terra.
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 Perciò potrete mangiare i seguenti: ogni specie di cavalletta, ogni specie di locusta, ogni specie di acrìdi e ogni specie di grillo.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro piedi sarà obbrobrioso per voi;
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 infatti vi rendono impuri: chiunque toccherà il loro cadavere sarà impuro fino alla sera
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 e chiunque trasporterà i loro cadaveri si dovrà lavare le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 Riterrete impuro ogni animale che ha l’unghia, ma non divisa da fessura, e non rumina: chiunque li toccherà sarà impuro.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 Considererete impuri tutti i quadrupedi che camminano sulla pianta dei piedi; chiunque ne toccherà il cadavere sarà impuro fino alla sera.
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 E chiunque trasporterà i loro cadaveri si dovrà lavare le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera. Tali animali riterrete impuri.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 Fra gli animali che strisciano per terra riterrete impuro: la talpa, il topo e ogni specie di sauri,
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 il toporagno, la lucertola, il geco, il ramarro, il camaleonte.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Questi animali, fra quanti strisciano, saranno impuri per voi; chiunque li toccherà morti, sarà impuro fino alla sera.
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà morto qualcuno di essi, sarà impuro: si tratti di utensile di legno oppure di veste o pelle o sacco o qualunque altro oggetto di cui si faccia uso; si immergerà nell’acqua e sarà impuro fino alla sera, poi sarà puro.
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 Se ne cade qualcuno in un vaso di terra, quanto vi si troverà dentro sarà impuro e spezzerete il vaso.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 Ogni cibo che serve di nutrimento, sul quale cada quell’acqua, sarà impuro; ogni bevanda potabile, qualunque sia il vaso che la contiene, sarà impura.
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà qualche parte del loro cadavere, sarà impuro; il forno o il fornello sarà spezzato: sono impuri e li dovete ritenere tali.
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 Però, una fonte o una cisterna, cioè una raccolta di acqua, resterà pura; ma chi toccherà i loro cadaveri sarà impuro.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 Se qualcosa dei loro cadaveri cade su qualche seme che deve essere seminato, questo sarà puro;
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 ma se è stata versata acqua sul seme e vi cade qualche cosa dei loro cadaveri, lo riterrai impuro.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 Se muore un animale, di cui vi potete cibare, colui che ne toccherà il cadavere sarà impuro fino alla sera.
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 Colui che mangerà di quel cadavere si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera; anche colui che trasporterà quel cadavere si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Ogni essere che striscia sulla terra sarà obbrobrioso; non se ne mangerà.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 Di tutti gli animali che strisciano sulla terra non ne mangerete alcuno che cammini sul ventre o cammini con quattro piedi o con molti piedi, poiché saranno obbrobriosi.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 Non rendete le vostre persone contaminate con alcuno di questi animali che strisciano; non rendetevi impuri con essi e non diventate, a causa loro, impuri.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Poiché io sono il Signore, vostro Dio. Santificatevi dunque e siate santi, perché io sono santo; non rendete impure le vostre persone con alcuno di questi animali che strisciano per terra.
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 Poiché io sono il Signore, che vi ho fatto uscire dalla terra d’Egitto per essere il vostro Dio; siate dunque santi, perché io sono santo.
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 Questa è la legge che riguarda i quadrupedi, gli uccelli, ogni essere vivente che si muove nelle acque e ogni essere che striscia per terra,
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 per distinguere ciò che è impuro da ciò che è puro, l’animale che si può mangiare da quello che non si deve mangiare”».
