Leviticus 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 Yahveh habló a Moisés y a Aarón, diciéndoles:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 Hablad a los israelitas y decidles: De entre todos los animales terrestres podréis comer estos:
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 cualquier animal de pezuña partida, hendida en mitades y que rumia, sí lo podréis comer.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Pero entre los que rumian o tienen pezuña hendida, no comeréis: camello, pues aunque rumia, no tiene partida la pezuña; será impuro para vosotros;
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 ni damán, porque rumia, pero no tiene partida la pezuña; será impuro para vosotros:
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 ni liebre porque rumia, pero no tiene la pezuña partida; será impura para vosotros;
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 ni cerdo, pues aunque tiene la pezuña partida, hendida en mitades, no rumia; será impuro para vosotros.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 No comeréis su carne ni tocaréis sus cadáveres; serán impuros para vosotros.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 De entre todos los animales que viven en las aguas, podréis comer éstos: cuantos tienen aletas y escamas sean de mar o río, los podréis comer.
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 Pero serán cosa abominable para vosotros todos los que carezcan de aletas y escamas, entre todos los que bullen en las aguas, en mares y ríos, y entre todos los demás animales que viven en el agua.
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 Serán abominables para vosotros: no comeréis su carne y tendréis sus cadáveres como abominables.
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 Tendréis por abominable todo cuanto en las aguas carece de aletas y escamas.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 Las siguientes de entre las aves tendréis por inmundas, y no podrán comer por ser abominación: el águila, el quebrantahuesos, el águila marina,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 el buitre, el halcón en todas sus especies,
15 all kinds of raven,	15 toda clase de cuervos,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 el avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota, el gavilán en todas sus especies,
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 el búho, el somormujo, el ibis,
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 el cisne, el pelícano, el calamón,
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 la cigüeña, la garza en todas sus especies, la abubilla y el murciélago.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Será abominable para vosotros todo bicho alado que anda sobre cuatro patas.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Pero de todos los bichos alados que andan sobre cuatro patas, podréis comer aquellos que además de sus cuatro patas tienen zancas para saltar con ellas sobre el suelo.
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 De ellos podréis comer: la langosta en sus diversas especies y toda clase de solam, de jargol y de jagab.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 Cualquier otro bicho alado de cuatro patas será para vosotros abominable.
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 Por estos animales podéis contraer impureza. El que toque su cadáver quedará impuro hasta la tarde.
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 El que levante alguno de sus cadáveres tendrá que lavar sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta la tarde.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 Asimismo todos los animales que tienen pezuña no partida en dos uñas y no rumian, serán impuros para vosotros. Todo aquel que los toque quedará impuro.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 De entre los cuadrúpedos os serán impuros todos los que andan sobre las plantas de sus pies. El que toque sus cadáveres quedará impuro hasta la tarde.
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 El que levante el cadáver de uno de ellos tendrá que lavar sus vestidos, y quedará impuro hasta la tarde; son impuros para vosotros.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 De entre los bichos pequeños que andan arrastrándose por el suelo serán impuros para vosotros: la comadreja, el ratón el lagarto en sus diversas especies,
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 el erizo, el cocodrilo, el camaleón, la salamandra y el topo.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Entre todos los bichos, éstos serán impuros para vosotros. Todo el que toque su cadáver quedará impuro hasta la tarde.
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 Quedará impuro cualquier objeto sobre el que caiga uno de sus cadáveres; ya sea un instrumento de madera, o un vestido, una piel, un saco o cualquier utensilio. Será metido en agua y quedará impuro.
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 Si cae uno de estos cadáveres en una vasija de barro, cuanto haya dentro de ella quedará impuro y romperéis la vasija.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 Toda cosa comestible preparada con dicha agua será impura, y toda bebida que se beba en una de esas vasijas será impura.
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 Cualquier objeto sobre el que caiga alguno de esos cadáveres quedará impuro: el horno y el doble fogón serán derribados; son impuros y los tendréis por impuros.
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 (Solamente las fuentes y cisternas, donde se recogen las aguas, permanecerán puras), pero el que toque sus cadáveres quedará impuro.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 De igual manera cuando caiga alguno de esos cadáveres sobre una semilla que va a sembrarse, quedará pura;
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 mas si cayese alguno de esos cadáveres sobre semilla mojada, la tendréis por impura.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 Cuando muera uno de aquellos animales de los que podéis comer, el que toque su cadáver quedará impuro hasta la tarde.
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 El que coma carne de ese cadáver deberá lavar sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta la tarde. Y el que levante ese cadáver habrá de lavar sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta la tarde.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Todo bicho que anda arrastrándose sobre la tierra es cosa abominable; no se podrá comer.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 No comeréis ningún animal de los que caminan sobre su vientre o sobre cuatro patas o sobre muchos pies, es decir, ningún bicho que se arrastra por el suelo, porque son abominación.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 No os hagáis inmundos con ninguna clase de bicho que se arrastra, ni os hagáis impuros con ellos, para que no os contaminéis por su causa.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Porque yo soy Yahveh, vuestro Dios; santificaos y sed santos, pues yo soy santo. No os haréis impuros con ninguno de esos bichos que se arrastran por el suelo.
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 Pues yo soy Yahveh, el que os he subido de la tierra de Egipto, para ser vuestro Dios. Sed, pues, santos porque yo soy santo.
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 Esta es la ley acerca de los animales, de las aves, y de todos los seres vivientes que se mueven en el agua, y de todos los que andan arrastrándose sobre la tierra;
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 para que hagáis distinción entre lo impuro y lo puro, entre el animal que puede comerse y el que no puede comerse.
