Leviticus 11

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 - Di poi il Signore parlò a Mosè ed Aronne, dicendo:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 «Dite a' figli d'Israele: - Gli animali che v'è lecito di mangiare fra tutti gli animali della terra son questi:
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 Dei quadrupedi, mangerete tutti quelli che hanno l'unghia fessa, e ruminano.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Quelli che ruminano bensì ed hanno l'unghia ma non fessa, come il cammello e gli altri, non li mangerete, e li considererete come immondi.
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 Il coniglio che rumina ma non ha l'unghia fessa, è immondo;
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 così pure la lepre, anche essa rumina ma non ha fessa l'unghia,
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 ed il porco che ha l'unghia fessa ma non rumina.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 Di questi animali non mangerete le carni nè toccherete i cadaveri, perchè per voi sono immondi.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 Ecco ora gli animali che vivono nell'acque, dei quali v'è lecito mangiare: tutti quelli che hanno pinne e squame, stiano nel mare o nei fiumi o nei laghi, li mangerete.
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 Ma quelli che si muovono e vivono nell'acque e non hanno pinne o squame, per voi saranno tutti abominevoli
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 ed esecrandi; non ne mangerete le carni, e ne eviterete i cadaveri.
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 Tutti gli abitatori delle acque che non hanno pinne e squame, saranno immondi.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 Fra gli uccelli ecco quelli che non dovete mangiare, e che dovete evitare: l'aquila, il grifone, l'aquila marina,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 il nibbio, l'avvoltoio e le sue specie,
15 all kinds of raven,	15 il corvo e tutte le specie che lo rassomigliano,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano, lo sparviero e le sue specie,
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 il gufo, lo smergo, l'ibi,
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 il cigno, il pellicano, il porfirione,
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 la cicogna, l'airone e le sue specie, l'upupa ed il pipistrello.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Ogni animale volante che cammina su quattro zampe sarà per voi abominevole.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Tutti quelli però che camminano bensì su quattro zampe, ma hanno quelle di dietro più lunghe, e con esse saltano sulla terra,
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 potete mangiarli come il bruco e le sue specie, l'attaco, l'ofiomaco e la cavalletta, ciascuno con le sue specie.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 Tutti gli altri volatili con quattro zampe saranno per voi esecrabili;
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 chiunque li toccherà morti diverrà e rimarrà immondo sino alla sera;
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 che se sarà necessario che egli porti qualcuna di queste bestie morte, si laverà le vesti, e sarà immondo sino al tramonto del sole.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 Ogni animale che ha l'unghia ma non fessa, e che non rumina, sarà immondo; chi lo tocca resterà contaminato.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 Di tutti gli animali che camminano con quattro zampe, sono immondi quelli che hanno piedi somiglianti a mani. Chi avrà toccato i loro corpi morti sarà contaminato sino a sera.
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 Chi avrà portato di tali bestie morte si laverà le vesti, e sarà immondo fino a sera, perchè tutti questi animali sono immondi per voi.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 Degli animali che camminano sulla terra saranno da annoverarsi tra gl'immondi: la mustela, il topo ed il coccodrillo, ciascuno con le sue specie;
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 il migale, il camaleonte, lo stellione, la lucertola e la talpa.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Son tutti immondi. Chi li toccherà dopo morti sarà immondo fino a sera;
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 ciò su cui cadrà qualcosa de' loro corpi diverrà contaminato; sia un utensile di legno, un vestito, una pelle, un tessuto di peli, ed a qualunque uso serva, verrà lavato con acqua, sarà immondo fino a sera, e poi rimarrà mondato.
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 Un vaso di coccio nel quale sia caduta qualcuna di quelle cose resterà macchiato e perciò dovrà essere spezzato.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 Qualunque cibo di cui vi servite se sopra vi fosse caduta di quell'acqua [contaminata], diverrà immondo, ed immondo ogni liquido che si bevesse da qualunque vaso [contaminato].
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 Qualunque oggetto sul quale cada qualcosa di quelle bestie morte sarà immondo; siano fornelli o marmitte, diverranno immondi, e saranno spezzati.
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 Ma le fonti, le cisterne e tutti i serbatoi di acqua rimarranno mondi. Chi però toccherà quei corpi morti si contaminerà.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 Se ne cadrà sulla sementa, non la contaminerà.
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 Ma se qualcuno avrà bagnato con acqua quella sementa, e poi verrà toccata da quei corpi morti, subito rimarrà contaminata.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 Se sarà morto uno di quelli animali de' quali v'è permesso mangiare, chi ne toccherà il corpo sarà immondo fino a sera;
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 anche chi ne mangerà o ne porterà qualche parte si laverà le vesti, e sarà immondo fino a sera.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Ogni animale che striscia sulla terra sarà abominevole, e non verrà preso per cibo.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 Di quelli che avendo quattro zampe camminano sul petto, o che hanno molti piedi, o che si trascinano lungo terra, non mangerete, perchè sono abominevoli.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 Non vogliate contaminare l'anime vostre, e non toccate nessuno di questi animali, per non diventar immondi.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Io infatti sono il Signore Dio vostro; siate santi, perchè santo son io. Non macchiate le anime vostre con nessun rettile che si muove sulla terra.
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 Io infatti sono il Signore, che v'ho cavati dalla terra d'Egitto per essere il vostro Dio. Sarete santi, perchè io son santo.
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 Quest'è la legge riguardante gli animali, gli uccelli, e tutti gli esseri viventi che si muovono nell'acqua o strisciano sulla terra,
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 acciò conosciate la differenza tra mondo ed immondo, e sappiate che cosa dovete mangiare e che cosa rifiutare -».
