Leviticus 11

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 O senhor disse a Moisés e a Aarão: "Dize aos israelitas o seguinte:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 entre todos os animais da terra, eis o que podereis comer:
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 podereis comer todo animal que tem a unha fendida e o casco dividido, e que rumina.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Mas não comereis aqueles que só ruminam ou só têm a unha fendida. A estes, tê-los-eis por impuros: tal como o camelo, que rumina mas não tem o casco fendido.
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 E como o coelho igualmente, que rumina mas não tem a unha fendida; tê-los-eis por impuros.
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 E como a lebre também, que rumina, mas não tem a unha fendida; tê-la-eis por impura,
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 E enfim, como o porco, que tem a unha fendida e o pé dividido, mas não rumina; tê-lo-eis por impuro.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 Não comereis da sua carne e não tocareis nos seus cadáveres: vós os tereis por impuros.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 Entre os animais que vivem na água, eis que podereis comer: podereis comer tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas, nas águas, no mar e nos rios.
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 Mas tereis em abominação todos os que não têm barbatanas nem escama, nos mares e nos rios, entre todos os animais que vivem nas águas e entre todos os seres vivos que nelas se encontram.
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 A estes, tê-los-eis em abominação: não comereis de sua carne e tereis em abominação os seus cadáveres.
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 Todos os que nas águas não têm barbatanas nem escamas, tê-los-eis em abominação.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 "Entre as aves, eis as que tereis abominação e de cuja carne não comereis, porque é uma abominação:
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 a águia, o falcão e o abutre, o milhafre e toda variedade de falcões,
15 all kinds of raven,	15 toda espécie de corvo,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 a avestruz, a andorinha, a gaivota e toda espécie de gavião,
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 o mocho, a coruja e o íbis,
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 o cisne, o pelicano, o alcatraz
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 e a cegonha, toda variedade de garça, a poupa e o morcego.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Todo volátil que anda sobre quatro pés vos será uma abominação.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Todavia, entre os insetos voláteis que andam sobre quatro pés podereis comer aqueles que, além de seus quatro pés, têm pernas para saltar em cima da terra.
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 Eis, pois, os que podereis comer: toda espécie de gafanhotos, assim como as variedades de solam, de hargol e de hagab.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 Qualquer outro volátil que tenha quatro pés vos será uma abominação.
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 Tornar-vos-eis imundos se os tocardes: se alguém tocar os seus cadáveres será impuro até a tarde,
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 e aquele que levar os seus cadáveres lavará suas vestes e será impuro até a tarde.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 Tereis por impuro todo animal que tenha a unha fendida, mas que não tem o pé dividido e não rumina; se alguém o tocar será imundo.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 Tereis também por impuros todos os quadrúpedes que andam nas plantas dos pés; se alguém tocar seus cadáveres será impuro até a tarde;
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 e aquele que levar os seus cadáveres lavará suas vestes e será impuro até a tarde. Tereis esses animais por impuros.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 Entre os animais que se movem em cima da terra, eis os que tereis por impuro: a toupeira, o rato e toda variedade de lagartos,
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 o musaranho, a rã, a tartaruga, a lagartixa e o camaleão.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Tais são os répteis que tereis por impuros, quem os tocar mortos será impuro até a tarde.
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 Todo objeto o qual caírem os seus cadáveres será impuro: vasos de madeira, vestes, peles, sacos e qualquer outro utensílio. Por-se-á esse objeto na água e ele será imundo até a tarde; depois disso será puro.
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 Se cair uma parte desses cadáveres num vaso de terra, tudo o que se encontrar nele será impuro, e quebrareis esse vaso.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 Todo alimento preparado com água {desse vaso} será impuro; toda bebida, seja qual for o recipiente que a contenha, será impura.
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 Todo objeto sobre o qual cair alguma coisa dos seus cadáveres será impuro; o forno e o fogão serão destruídos: serão impuros, e vós os tereis como tais.
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 Contudo, as fontes e as cisternas em que há depósito de água ficarão puras, mas aquele que tocar os cadáveres será impuro.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 Se cair alguma coisa dos seus cadáveres sobre uma semente qualquer, esta ficará pura.
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 Mas se se derramar água sobre a semente e alguma coisa dos seus cadáveres cair sobre ela, tê-la-eis por impura.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 Se morrer algum animal que vos é lícito comer, aquele que tocar o seu cadáver será impuro até a tarde.
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 Quem comer de sua carne lavará suas vestes e será impuro até a tarde; e aquele que levar esse cadáver lavará suas vestes e ficará impuro até a tarde.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Todo animal que se arrasta sobre a terra vos será uma coisa abominável: não se comerá dele.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 Não comereis animal algum que se arrasta sobre a terra, tanto aqueles que se arrastam sobre o ventre como aqueles que andam sobre quatro ou mais pés: tê-los-eis em abominação.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 Não vos torneis abomináveis, comendo um desses répteis, e não vos façais impuros por eles, porque vos tornaríeis imundos.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Pois eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus. Vós vos santificareis e sereis santos, porque eu sou santo. Não vos contaminareis com esses animais que se arrastam sobre a terra,
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 porque eu sou o Senhor que vos tirou da terra do Egito para ser o vosso Deus. Sereis santos porque eu sou santo.
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 Tal é a lei relativa aos quadrúpedes, às aves, a todos os seres vivos que se movem na águas e a todos aqueles que se arrastam sobre a terra.
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 Essa lei vos fará discernir o que é puro do que é impuro, o animal que pode ser comido do que não pode."
