Leviticus 11

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 "Parlate ai figli d'Israele: Questi sono gli animali che mangerete fra tutti quelli che sono sopra la terra:
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 ogni ruminante che ha lo zoccolo spaccato e l'unghia divisa.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Soltanto questi non mangerete fra i ruminanti e fra gli animali dallo zoccolo spaccato: il cammello, perché è ruminante, ma non ha lo zoccolo spaccato, è impuro per voi;
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 l'irace, perché è ruminante, ma non ha lo zoccolo spaccato, è impuro per voi;
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 la lepre, perché è ruminante, ma non ha lo zoccolo spaccato, è impura per voi;
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 il maiale, perché ha lo zoccolo spaccato e l'unghia divisa ma non è un ruminante, è impuro per voi.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 Non mangerete la loro carne e non toccherete i loro cadaveri; sono impuri per voi.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 Fra tutti gli animali che si trovano nell'acqua questi mangerete: tutti quelli che hanno pinne e squame, nelle acque dei mari e dei fiumi;
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 tutti quelli che non hanno pinne e squame, nei mari e nei fiumi, ogni biscia d'acqua e tutti gli esseri viventi che si trovano nell'acqua sono abominevoli per voi.
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 Essi sono abominevoli e non mangerete della loro carne e terrete in abominio i loro cadaveri.
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 Tutti gli animali acquatici che non hanno pinne e squame sono un abominio per voi.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 Questi considererete abominevoli fra gli uccelli e non mangerete perché sono un abominio: l'aquila, l'ossifraga e la strige,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 il nibbio e le varie specie di rapaci;
15 all kinds of raven,	15 le varie specie di corvi;
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano e le varie specie di sparvieri;
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 il gufo, il martin pescatore e l'ibis;
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 il cigno e il pellicano e la fòlaga;
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 la cicogna, le varie specie di aironi, l'upupa e il pipistrello.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Ogni insetto alato che cammina su quattro zampe è un abominio per voi.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Soltanto questi mangerete fra tutti gli insetti alati che camminano su quattro zampe: quelli che hanno due zampe sopra i piedi per saltare sopra la terra;
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 fra di essi potrete mangiare: ogni specie di locuste, ogni specie di cavallette, ogni specie di grilli e ogni specie di acridi.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro zampe è un abominio per voi.
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 Da questi animali contrarrete impurità; chiunque toccherà i loro cadaveri sarà impuro fino a sera;
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 chiunque solleva il loro cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 Tutti gli animali che hanno lo zoccolo spaccato, ma la cui unghia non è divisa e non sono ruminanti, sono impuri per voi; chiunque li tocca contrae impurità.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 Fra i quadrupedi, qualsiasi animale che cammina sulla pianta dei piedi è impuro per voi; chiunque ne tocca il cadavere resta impuro fino a sera;
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 chi ne solleva il cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera. Sono animali impuri per voi.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 Fra gli animali che strisciano sopra la terra sono impuri per voi: la talpa, il topo e ogni specie di lucertola;
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 il geco, il toporagno, il ramarro, la tartaruga e il camaleonte.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Questi sono impuri per voi fra gli animali striscianti; chiunque li tocca, quando sono morti, resta impuro fino a sera.
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 Qualsiasi cosa su cui cadessero quando sono morti è impura; qualsiasi utensile di legno o vestito o pelle o sacco, qualsiasi utensile con cui si lavora sia messo nell'acqua; resta impuro fino a sera e poi è considerato puro.
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 Qualsiasi recipiente di argilla entro cui cada uno di questi animali: tutto ciò che c'è dentro è impuro e il recipiente lo romperete.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 Qualsiasi commestibile su cui cada quell'acqua è impuro, e ogni bevanda in qualsiasi recipiente si trovi, è impura.
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 Qualsiasi cosa su cui cada un loro cadavere è impura: forno e fornello siano distrutti: sono impuri e impuri siano considerati da voi.
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 Però le fonti, i pozzi e i bacini d'acqua saranno puri. Chi tocca i loro cadaveri diventa impuro.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 Se un loro cadavere cade su una qualsiasi specie di semente da seminare, la semente resta pura;
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 se è stata versata dell'acqua sulla semente e cade su di essa un loro cadavere, la semente è impura per voi.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 Se muore un animale di cui vi potete cibare, chi tocca il cadavere è impuro fino a sera.
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 Chi mangia di questo cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera; chi trasporta tale cadavere lavi le sue vesti; resta impuro fino a sera.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Ogni animale che striscia sopra la terra è un abominio: non mangiatelo.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 Tutti gli animali che camminano sul ventre, che camminano su quattro o più zampe o che strisciano sopra la terra non mangiateli, ché sono cosa abominevole.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 Non rendetevi abominevoli con un qualsiasi animale strisciante e non contaminatevi con essi così da diventare impuri.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Io infatti sono il Signore Dio vostro! Santificatevi e siate santi, perché io sono santo. Non contaminatevi con qualsiasi animale strisciante sopra la terra.
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 Sì; io sono il Signore che vi ha fatto uscire dalla terra d'Egitto per essere vostro Dio. Siate santi perché io sono santo!".
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 Questa è la legge relativa alle bestie terrestri, agli uccelli e a ogni animale che si muove nell'acqua e a ogni animale che striscia sopra la terra.
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 Ciò ha lo scopo di separare l'impuro dal puro, gli animali che si possono mangiare da quelli che non è lecito mangiare.
