Isaiah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.	1 הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר חָזָה יְשַׁעְיָהוּ בֶּן־אָמֹוץ עַל־יְהוּדָה וִירוּשָׁלִָם
2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. Then al the nations will stream to it,	2 וְהָיָה ׀ בְּאַחֲרִית הַיָּמִים נָכֹון יִהְיֶה הַר בֵּית־יְהוָה בְּרֹאשׁ הֶהָרִים וְנִשָּׂא מִגְּבָעֹות וְנָהֲרוּ אֵלָיו כָּל־הַגֹּויִם
3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.	3 וְהָלְכוּ עַמִּים רַבִּים וְאָמְרוּ לְכוּ ׀ וְנַעֲלֶה אֶל־הַר־יְהוָה אֶל־בֵּית אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב וְיֹרֵנוּ מִדְּרָכָיו וְנֵלְכָה בְּאֹרְחֹתָיו כִּי מִצִּיֹּון תֵּצֵא תֹורָה וּדְבַר־יְהוָה מִירוּשָׁלִָם
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.	4 וְשָׁפַט בֵּין הַגֹּויִם וְהֹוכִיחַ לְעַמִּים רַבִּים וְכִתְּתוּ חַרְבֹותָם לְאִתִּים וַחֲנִיתֹותֵיהֶם לְמַזְמֵרֹות לֹא־יִשָּׂא גֹוי אֶל־גֹּוי חֶרֶב וְלֹא־יִלְמְדוּ עֹוד מִלְחָמָה׃ פ
5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.	5 בֵּית יַעֲקֹב לְכוּ וְנֵלְכָה בְּאֹור יְהוָה
6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.	6 כִּי נָטַשְׁתָּה עַמְּךָ בֵּית יַעֲקֹב כִּי מָלְאוּ מִקֶּדֶם וְעֹנְנִים כַּפְּלִשְׁתִּים וּבְיַלְדֵי נָכְרִים יַשְׂפִּיקוּ
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;	7 וַתִּמָּלֵא אַרְצֹו כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב וְאֵין קֵצֶה לְאֹצְרֹתָיו וַתִּמָּלֵא אַרְצֹו סוּסִים וְאֵין קֵצֶה לְמַרְכְּבֹתָיו
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.	8 וַתִּמָּלֵא אַרְצֹו אֱלִילִים לְמַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו יִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַאֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ אֶצְבְּעֹתָיו
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!	9 וַיִּשַּׁח אָדָם וַיִּשְׁפַּל־אִישׁ וְאַל־תִּשָּׂא לָהֶם
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.	10 בֹּוא בַצּוּר וְהִטָּמֵן בֶּעָפָר מִפְּנֵי פַּחַד יְהוָה וּמֵהֲדַר גְּאֹנֹו
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.	11 עֵינֵי גַּבְהוּת אָדָם שָׁפֵל וְשַׁח רוּם אֲנָשִׁים וְנִשְׂגַּב יְהוָה לְבַדֹּו בַּיֹּום הַהוּא׃ ס
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,	12 כִּי יֹום לַיהוָה צְבָאֹות עַל כָּל־גֵּאֶה וָרָם וְעַל כָּל־נִשָּׂא וְשָׁפֵל
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;	13 וְעַל כָּל־אַרְזֵי הַלְּבָנֹון הָרָמִים וְהַנִּשָּׂאִים וְעַל כָּל־אַלֹּונֵי הַבָּשָׁן
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;	14 וְעַל כָּל־הֶהָרִים הָרָמִים וְעַל כָּל־הַגְּבָעֹות הַנִּשָּׂאֹות
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;	15 וְעַל כָּל־מִגְדָּל גָּבֹהַ וְעַל כָּל־חֹומָה בְצוּרָה
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.	16 וְעַל כָּל־אֳנִיֹּות תַּרְשִׁישׁ וְעַל כָּל־שְׂכִיֹּות הַחֶמְדָּה
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.	17 וְשַׁח גַּבְהוּת הָאָדָם וְשָׁפֵל רוּם אֲנָשִׁים וְנִשְׂגַּב יְהוָה לְבַדֹּו בַּיֹּום הַהוּא
18 When the idols al disappear,	18 וְהָאֱלִילִים כָּלִיל יַחֲלֹף
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	19 וּבָאוּ בִּמְעָרֹות צֻרִים וּבִמְחִלֹּות עָפָר מִפְּנֵי פַּחַד יְהוָה וּמֵהֲדַר גְּאֹונֹו בְּקוּמֹו לַעֲרֹץ הָאָרֶץ
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,	20 בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יַשְׁלִיךְ הָאָדָם אֵת אֱלִילֵי כַסְפֹּו וְאֵת אֱלִילֵי זְהָבֹו אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ־לֹו לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹת לַחְפֹּר פֵּרֹות וְלָעֲטַלֵּפִים
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	21 לָבֹוא בְּנִקְרֹות הַצֻּרִים וּבִסְעִפֵי הַסְּלָעִים מִפְּנֵי פַּחַד יְהוָה וּמֵהֲדַר גְּאֹונֹו בְּקוּמֹו לַעֲרֹץ הָאָרֶץ
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?	22 חִדְלוּ לָכֶם מִן־הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר נְשָׁמָה בְּאַפֹּו כִּי־בַמֶּה נֶחְשָׁב הוּא׃ פ
	23 וּבְנֵי צִיֹּון גִּילוּ וְשִׂמְחוּ בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם כִּי־נָתַן לָכֶם אֶת־הַמֹּורֶה לִצְדָקָה וַיֹּורֶד לָכֶם גֶּשֶׁם מֹורֶה וּמַלְקֹושׁ בָּרִאשֹׁון
	24 וּמָלְאוּ הַגֳּרָנֹות בָּר וְהֵשִׁיקוּ הַיְקָבִים תִּירֹושׁ וְיִצְהָר
	25 וְשִׁלַּמְתִּי לָכֶם אֶת־הַשָּׁנִים אֲשֶׁר אָכַל הָאַרְבֶּה הַיֶּלֶק וְהֶחָסִיל וְהַגָּזָם חֵילִי הַגָּדֹול אֲשֶׁר שִׁלַּחְתִּי בָּכֶם
	26 וַאֲכַלְתֶּם אָכֹול וְשָׂבֹועַ וְהִלַּלְתֶּם אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה עִמָּכֶם לְהַפְלִיא וְלֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּ עַמִּי לְעֹולָם
	27 וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי בְקֶרֶב יִשְׂרָאֵל אָנִי וַאֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְאֵין עֹוד וְלֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּ עַמִּי לְעֹולָם׃ ס
