Isaiah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.	1 Visão de Isaías, filho de Amós, acerca de Judá e Jerusalém.
2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. Then al the nations will stream to it,	2 No fim dos tempos acontecerá que o monte da casa do Senhor estará colocado à frente das montanhas, e dominará as colinas. Para aí acorrerão todas as gentes,
3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.	3 e os povos virão em multidão: Vinde, dirão eles, subamos à montanha do Senhor, à casa do Deus de Jacó: ele nos ensinará seus caminhos, e nós trilharemos as suas veredas. Porque de Sião deve sair a lei, e de Jerusalém, a palavra do Senhor.
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.	4 Ele será o juiz das nações, o governador de muitos povos. De suas espadas forjarão relhas de arados, e de suas lanças, foices. Uma nação não levantará a espada contra outra, e não se arrastarão mais para a guerra.
5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.	5 Casa de Jacó, vinde, caminhemos à luz do Senhor.
6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.	6 Vós rejeitastes inteiramente vosso povo, a casa de Jacó, porque ela está cheia de adivinhos do Oriente, e de agoureiros como os filisteus; ela transige com os estrangeiros.
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;	7 A sua terra está cheia de prata e de ouro, e há tesouros sem fim. A sua terra está cheia de cavalos e há um sem-número de carros.
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.	8 A sua terra está cheia de ídolos; os homens se prosternam diante da obra de suas mãos, diante daquilo que seus dedos fabricaram.
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!	9 Os mortais serão abatidos e o homem será humilhado; vós não os perdoareis de maneira nenhuma.
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.	10 Refugiai-vos nos rochedos, escondei-vos debaixo da terra, sob o impulso do terror do Senhor, e do esplendor de sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para aterrorizar a terra.
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.	11 A soberba dos mortais será abatida, e o orgulho dos homens será humilhado. Só o Senhor será exaltado naquele tempo.
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,	12 Porque o Senhor dos exércitos terá um dia {para exercer punição} contra todo ser orgulhoso e arrogante, e contra todo aquele que se exalta, para abatê-lo,
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;	13 contra todos os cedros do Líbano, altos e majestosos, e contra todos os carvalhos de Basã,
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;	14 contra todos os altos montes, e contra todos os outeiros elevados,
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;	15 contra todas as torres altas, e contra todas as muralhas fortificadas,
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.	16 contra todas as naus de Társis e contra todos os objetos de luxo.
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.	17 A pretensão dos mortais será humilhada, o orgulho dos homens será abatido. Só o Senhor será exaltado naquele tempo,
18 When the idols al disappear,	18 e todos os ídolos desaparecerão.
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	19 Refugiai-vos nas cavernas dos rochedos, e nos antros da terra, sob o impulso do terror do Senhor, e do esplendor de sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para aterrorizar a terra.
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,	20 Naquele tempo o homem lançará aos ratos e aos morcegos os ídolos de prata e os ídolos de ouro, que para si tinha feito a fim de adorá-los;
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	21 refugiar-se-á nas cavernas dos rochedos e nas fendas da pedreira, por causa do espanto da presença do Senhor, e do esplendor de sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para aterrorizar a terra.
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?	22 Cessai de confiar no homem, cuja vida se prende a um fôlego: como se pode estimá-lo?
