NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.	1 Visione che ebbe Isaia, figlio di Amoz, su Giuda e Gerusalemme.
2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. Then al the nations will stream to it,	2 Avverrà che nei tempi futuri il monte della casa del Signore sarà stabilito in cima ai monti e si ergerà al di sopra dei colli. Tutte le genti affluiranno ad esso,
3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.	3 e verranno molti popoli dicendo: "Venite, saliamo sul monte del Signore, al tempio del Dio di Giacobbe, perché c'istruisca nelle sue vie e camminiamo nei suoi sentieri". Poiché da Sion uscirà la legge e da Gerusalemme la parola del Signore.
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.	4 Egli sarà giudice tra le genti e arbitro di popoli numerosi. Muteranno le loro spade in zappe e le loro lance in falci; una nazione non alzerà la spada contro un'altra e non praticheranno più la guerra.
5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.	5 Casa di Giacobbe, vieni, camminiamo nella luce del Signore!
6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.	6 Sì, tu hai rigettato il tuo popolo, la casa di Giacobbe, poiché sono pieni di indovini e di maghi simili ai Filistei e patteggiano con gli stranieri.
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;	7 Il suo paese è pieno d'oro e d'argento, e non vi è limite ai suoi tesori; il suo paese è pieno di cavalli e non vi è limite ai suoi carri;
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.	8 il suo paese è pieno di idoli. Si curvano davanti all'opera delle loro mani, davanti a ciò che fabbricarono le loro dita.
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!	9 Il mortale sarà abbassato, l'uomo sarà umiliato; non perdonare loro!
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.	10 Entra nelle rocce, nasconditi nella polvere, davanti al terrore del Signore, davanti allo splendore della sua maestà.
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.	11 Gli altezzosi tra i mortali saranno umiliati, la superbia degli uomini sarà abbassata; soltanto il Signore sarà esaltato in quel giorno.
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,	12 Poiché il Signore degli eserciti ha un giorno contro tutto ciò che è altero e superbo, contro tutto ciò che è elevato per umiliarlo,
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;	13 contro tutti i cedri del Libano alti ed elevati, contro tutte le querce di Basan,
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;	14 contro tutti i monti superbi, contro tutte le colline elevate,
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;	15 contro tutte le alte torri, contro tutti i muri fortificati,
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.	16 contro tutte le navi di Tarsis, contro tutte le imbarcazioni lussuose.
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.	17 Sarà abbassata l'alterigia dei mortali e umiliato l'orgoglio degli uomini; solo il Signore sarà esaltato in quel giorno.
18 When the idols al disappear,	18 Gli idoli saranno del tutto sterminati.
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	19 Entreranno nelle caverne delle rocce, e negli antri della terra, davanti al terrore del Signore, e davanti alla gloria della sua maestà quando si leverà a far tremare la terra.
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,	20 In quel giorno gli uomini getteranno ai topi e ai pipistrelli i loro idoli d'oro e i loro idoli d'argento, che si erano fabbricati per adorarli,
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	21 quando entreranno nei crepacci delle rocce e nelle spaccature dei massi, davanti al terrore del Signore, e davanti allo splendore della sua maestà, quando si leverà a scuotere la terra.
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?	22 Cessate di confidare nell'uomo, nelle cui narici vi è solo un soffio: perché lo si dovrebbe stimare?
