2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. 3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.	3 Odamegy számos nép, és így szólnak: »Jöjjetek, menjünk fel az Úr hegyére, Jákob Istenének házához! Hadd tanítson minket útjaira, hogy az ő ösvényein járjunk!« Mert Sionról jön a tanítás, és az Úr igéje Jeruzsálemből.
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.	4 Ítéletet tart majd a nemzetek között, és megfenyít számos népet; ők pedig kardjaikat ekevasakká kovácsolják, és lándzsáikat szőlőmetsző késekké. 5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.	5 Jákob háza, jöjjetek, járjunk az Úr világosságában!
6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.	6 Valóban eltaszítottad népedet, Jákob házát, mert tele van keleti jövendőmondókkal, jósokkal, mint a filiszteusok, és idegeneknek nyújt kezet.
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;	7 Tele van országa ezüsttel, arannyal, és kincseinek se szeri, se száma;
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.	8 tele van országa lovakkal, és nincsen száma szekereinek; tele van országa bálványokkal: kezük művei előtt borulnak le, az előtt, amit ujjaik alkottak.
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!	9 Meghajlik az ember, és megalázza magát a férfi: ne bocsáss meg nekik!
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.	10 Menj a kősziklák közé, rejtőzz el a porban az Úr félelmetes színe elől és fenségének dicsősége elől!
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.	11 Az ember gőgös szeme majd megalázkodik, és megtörik a férfiak büszkesége; egyedül az Úr lesz magasztos azon a napon.
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,	12 Mert felvirrad a Seregek Urának napja minden kevélyre és büszkére, minden felfuvalkodottra, hogy megalázza;
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;	13 Libanonnak minden magas, sudár cédrusára és Básán minden tölgyére,
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;	14 minden magas hegyre és minden kiemelkedő dombra,
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;	15 minden magas toronyra és minden megerősített falra,
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.	16 Tarzis minden hajójára és minden szép bárkára.
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.	17 Meghajlik az emberi gőg, és megalázkodik a férfiak büszkesége; egyedül az Úr lesz magasztos azon a napon,
18 When the idols al disappear,	18 s a bálványok teljesen megsemmisülnek.
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	19 Bemenekülnek majd a kősziklák barlangjaiba, s a szirtek üregeibe az Úr félelmetes színe elől és fenségének dicsősége elől, amikor felkel, hogy megrémítse a földet.
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,	20 Azon a napon odaveti majd az ember a vakondoknak és a denevéreknek ezüstszobrait és aranybálványait, amelyeket magának készített, hogy leboruljon előttük.
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	21 Bemenekül a kősziklák hasadékaiba s a szirtek üregeibe az Úr félelmetes színe elől és fenségének dicsősége elől, amikor felkel, hogy megrémítse a földet.
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?	22 Hagyjátok tehát az embert, mert neki csak lehelet van az orrában. Hiszen mire lehet becsülni?
