Isaiah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.	1 Palabra que Isaías, hijo de Amós, recibió en una visión, acerca de Judá y de Jerusalén:
2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. Then al the nations will stream to it,	2 Sucederá al fin de los tiempos que la montaña de la Casa del Señor será afianzada sobre la cumbre de las montañas y se elevará por encima de las colinas. Todas las naciones afluirán hacia ella
3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.	3 y acudirán pueblos numerosos, que dirán; ¡Vengan, subamos a la montaña del Señor, a la Casa del Dios de Jacob! El nos instruirá en sus caminos y caminaremos por sus sendas». Porque de Sión saldrá la Ley y de Jerusalén, la palabra del Señor.
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.	4 El será juez entre las naciones y árbitro de pueblos numerosos Con sus espadas forjarán arados y podaderas con sus lanzas. No levantará la espada una nación contra otra ni se adiestrarán más para la guerra.
5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.	5 ¡Ven, casa de Jacob, y caminemos a la luz del Señor!
6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.	6 Sí, tú has desechado a tu pueblo a la casa de Jacob. porque están llenos de adivinos de Oriente, de astrólogos, como los filisteos, y estrechan la mano de los extranjeros.
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;	7 Su país está lleno de plata y oro y sus tesoros no tienen fin. Su país está lleno de caballos y sus carros de guerra no tienen fin.
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.	8 Su país está lleno de ídolos; ellos se postran ante la obra de sus manos, ante lo que fabricaron sus propios dedos.
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!	9 El hombre será doblegado y el mortal, humillado –tú no podrías perdonarlos –
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.	10 ¡Entra en la roca y escóndete en el polvo, lejos del Terror del Señor y del esplendor de su majestad!
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.	11 La mirada altanera del hombre será humillada, la arrogancia humana será abatida. y sólo el Señor será exaltado en aquel día.
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,	12 Porque habrá un día para el Señor de los ejércitos contra todo lo arrogante y altanero, contra todo lo alto y encumbrado,
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;	13 contra todos los cedros del Líbano, altaneros y elevados, contra todas las encinas de Basán
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;	14 contra todas las montañas altivas, contra todas las colinas encumbradas,
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;	15 contra todas las altas torres, contra todo muro fortificado,
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.	16 contra todas las naves de Tarsis, contra todos los barcos suntuosos.
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.	17 El orgullo del hombre será humillado, la arrogancia humana será abatida, y sólo el Señor será exaltado en aquel día,
18 When the idols al disappear,	18 y hasta el último de los ídolos desaparecerá.
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	19 ¡Entren en las cavernas de las rocas y en las cuevas del suelo. lejos del Terror del Señor y del esplendor de su majestad, cuando él se levante para llenar la tierra de espanto!
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,	20 Aquel día, el hombre arrojará a los topos y a los murciélagos los ídolos de plata y los ídolos de oro que se había fabricado para adorarlos,
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	21 y se meterá en las hendiduras de las rocas y en las grietas de los peñascos, lejos del Terror del Señor y del esplendor de su majestad, cuando él se levante para llenar la tierra de espanto.
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?	22 ¡Dejen entonces al hombre que sólo tiene aliento en sus narices! ¿En qué se lo puede estimar?
