1 Like flowing water is a king's heart in Yahweh's hand; he directs it wherever he pleases.	1 - Una derivazione d'acqua è il cuore del re in mano a Dio, a tutto ciò che vuole Egli lo piega.
2 All actions are straight in the doer's own eyes, but it is Yahweh who weighs hearts.	2 Tutte le vie dell'uomo sono rette ai suoi occhi, ma chi pesa i cuori è Dio.
3 To do what is upright and just is more pleasing to Yahweh than sacrifice.	3 Praticar la carità e la giustizia, è più gradito a Dio che le vittime.
4 Haughty eye, proud heart, lamp of the wicked, nothing but sin.	4 Alterigia d'occhi è gonfiezza di cuore; la lucerna degli empi è il peccato.
5 The hardworking is thoughtful, and al is gain; too much haste, and all that comes of it is want.	5 I disegni del sollecito prosperano sicuramente; ogni pigro invece è sempre nella miseria.
6 To make a fortune with the help of a lying tongue: such is the idle fantasy of those who look for death.	6 Chi ammassa tesori con lingua bugiarda, è fatuo e malaccorto e s'impiglierà in lacci di morte.
7 The violence of the wicked proves their ruin, for they refuse to do what is right.	7 Le rapine dei tristi li travolgeranno, perchè non vollero operare con giustizia.
8 The way of the felon is devious, the conduct of the innocent straight.	8 La via perversa dell'uomo è stravagante e chi è schietto ha un fare dritto.
9 Better the corner of a roof to live on than a house shared with a quarrelsome woman.	9 Meglio starsene in un angolo della terrazza che con donna attaccabrighe e far camera comune.
10 The soul of the wicked is intent on evil, to such a person no neighbour can ever do right.	10 L'animo, dell'empio vuol male, non sentirà compassione pel prossimo.
11 When a cynic is punished, simpletons grow wiser, but someone of understanding acquires knowledgeby instruction.	11 Quando l'insolente pagherà il fio, l'ingenuo diventerà più savio; e se frequenterà il sapiente, apprenderà scienza.
12 The Upright One watches the house of the wicked; he hurls the wicked to destruction.	12 Il giusto si prende pensiero della casa dell'empio per stornare i cattivi dal male.
13 Whoever refuses to listen to the cry of the weak, wil in turn plead and not be heard.	13 Chi chiude l'orecchio al grido del misero, se anch'egli griderà non sarà udito.
14 Anger is mol ified by a covert gift, raging fury by a present under cover of the cloak.	14 Un dono di sottomano acquieta lo sdegno; e un regalo intascato, l'ira più violenta.
15 Doing what is right fills the upright with joy, but evil-doers with terror.	15 È una gioia pel giusto fare giustizia e pei malfattori, una costernazione.
16 Whoever strays far from the way of prudence wil rest in the assembly of shadows.	16 L'uomo che travia dal cammino della dottrina, nell'assemblea dei giganti avrà dimora.
17 Pleasure-lovers stay poor, no one wil grow rich who loves wine and good living.	17 Chi ama le gozzoviglie andrà in miseria; chi ama il vino e i grassi bocconi, non arricchirà.
18 The wicked is a ransom for the upright; and the law-breaker for the honest.	18 Pel giusto, l'empio espierà, e in luogo dei buoni, l'iniquo.
19 Better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and irritable woman.	19 Meglio vivere in terra deserta, che con donna accattabrighe e collerica.
20 The wise has valuables and oil at home, but a fool soon runs through both.	20 Nella dimora del giusto c'è un tesoro vistoso, c'è dell'aroma; ma l'uomo stolto lo dissiperà.
21 Whoever pursues uprightness and faithful love will find life, uprightness and honour.	21 Chi persegue rettitudine e carità, troverà vita, giustizia e gloria.
22 A sage can scale a garrisoned city and shatter the rampart on which it relied.	22 Il saggio salì alla città dei forti e distrusse la potenza in cui essa confidava.
23 Watch kept over mouth and tongue keeps the watcher safe from disaster.	23 Chi custodisce la sua bocca e la sua lingua, custodisce dalle angustie l'anima sua.
24 Insolent, haughty -- the name is 'Cynic'; overweening pride marks such behaviour.	24 Superbo ed arrogante ha nome l'insipiente che sdegnosamente fa il superbo.
25 The idler's desires are the death of him, since his hands wil do no work.	25 Le voglie ammazzano il pigro, perchè le sue mani rifuggirono dall'operare,
26 Al day long the godless is racked by desire, the upright gives without ever refusing.	26 tutto il giorno si pasce di brame e desiderii, mentre il giusto darà senza risparmio.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrent, above al if it is offered for bad motives.	27 Le vittime degli empi sono un abominio, perchè frutto d'iniquità.
28 The false witness wil perish, but no one who knows how to listen wil ever be silenced.	28 Il testo menzognero perirà, ma l'uomo che ascolta parlerà trionfalmente.
29 The wicked man's strength shows on his face, but the honest it is whose steps are firm.	29 L'uomo empio fa faccia tosta; e l'uomo retto emenda la sua condotta.
30 No wisdom, no understanding, no advice is worth anything before Yahweh.	30 Non c'è sapienza, nè prudenza, nè consiglio contro Dio.
31 Fit out the cavalry for the day of battle, but the victory is Yahweh's.	31 Pel dì della battaglia si prepara il cavallo; ma è il Signore che dà la salvezza.
