Proverbs 13

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 A wise child listens to a father's discipline, a cynic wil not listen to reproof.	1 الابن الحكيم يقبل تأديب ابيه والمستهزئ لا يسمع انتهارا.
2 The fruit of the mouth provides a good meal, but the soul of the treacherous feeds on violence.	2 من ثمرة فمه ياكل الانسان خيرا ومرام الغادرين ظلم.
3 A guard on the mouth makes life secure, whoever talks too much is lost.	3 من يحفظ فمه يحفظ نفسه. ومن يشحر شفتيه فله هلاك.
4 The idler hungers but has no food; hard workers get their fill.	4 نفس الكسلان تشتهي ولا شيء لها ونفس المجتهدين تسمن.
5 The upright hates a lying word, but the wicked slanders and defames.	5 الصدّيق يبغض كلام كذب والشرير يخزي ويخجل.
6 Uprightness stands guard over one whose way is honest, sin causes the ruin of the wicked.	6 البر يحفظ الكامل طريقه والشر يقلب الخاطئ.
7 There are some who, on nothing, pretend to be rich, some, with great wealth, pretend to be poor.	7 يوجد من يتغانى ولا شيء عنده ومن يتفاقر وعنده غنى جزيل.
8 The ransom for life is a person's wealth; but the poor wil not hear the reproof.	8 فدية نفس رجل غناه. اما الفقير فلا يسمع انتهارا.
9 The light of the upright is joyful, the lamp of the wicked goes out.	9 نور الصدّيقين يفرح وسراج الاشرار ينطفئ.
10 Insolence breeds only disputes, wisdom lies with those who take advice.	10 الخصام انما يصير بالكبرياء ومع المتشاورين حكمة.
11 A sudden fortune wil dwindle away, accumulation little by little is the way to riches.	11 غنى البطل يقل والجامع بيده يزداد.
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, desire fulfil ed is a tree of life.	12 الرجاء المماطل يمرض القلب والشهوة المتممة شجرة حياة.
13 Contempt for the word is self-destructive, respect for the commandment wins salvation.	13 من ازدرى بالكلمة يخرب نفسه ومن خشي الوصية يكافأ.
14 The teaching of the wise is a life-giving fountain for eluding the snares of death.	14 شريعة الحكيم ينبوع حياة للحيدان عن اشراك الموت.
15 Good sense wins favour, but the way of the treacherous is hard.	15 الفطنة الجيدة تمنح نعمة. اما طريق الغادرين فاوعر.
16 Anyone of discretion acts by the light of knowledge, the fool parades his fol y.	16 كل ذكي يعمل بالمعرفة والجاهل ينشر حمقا.
17 A bad messenger fal s into misfortune, a trusty messenger brings healing.	17 الرسول الشرير يقع في الشر والسفير الامين شفاء.
18 Whoever rejects discipline wins poverty and scorn; for anyone who accepts correction: honour.	18 فقر وهوان لمن يرفض التأديب. ومن يلاحظ التوبيخ يكرم.
19 Desire fulfil ed is sweet to the soul; fools are loth to turn -- from evil.	19 الشهوة الحاصلة تلذ النفس. اما كراهة الجهال فهي الحيدان عن الشر
20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, whoever mixes with fools wil be ruined.	20 المساير الحكماء يصير حكيما ورفيق الجهال يضر.
21 Evil wil pursue the sinner, but good wil reward the upright.	21 الشر يتبع الخاطئين والصدّيقون يجازون خيرا.
22 The good bequeaths a heritage to children's children, the wealth of the sinner is stored away for theupright.	22 الصالح يورث بني البنين وثروة الخاطئ تذخر للصدّيق.
23 Though the farms of the poor yield much food, some perish for lack of justice.	23 في حرث الفقراء طعام كثير ويوجد هالك من عدم الحق.
24 Whoever fails to use the stick hates his child; whoever is free with correction loves him.	24 من يمنع عصاه يمقت ابنه ومن احبه يطلب له التأديب.
25 The upright eats to the full, the bel y of the wicked goes empty.	25 الصدّيق يأكل لشبع نفسه. اما بطن الاشرار فيحتاج
