Proverbs 10

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise child is a father's joy, a foolish child a mother's grief.	1 Il figlio saggio è la consolazione del padre, mentre il figlio stolto è l'afflizione della madre.
2 Treasures wickedly come by give no benefit, but uprightness brings delivery from death.	2 A nulla gioveranno i tesori male acquistati, ma la giustizia libera dalla morte.
3 Yahweh does not let the upright go hungry, but he thwarts the greed of the wicked.	3 Il Signore non lascerà deluse le brame del giusto, ma sventerà le insidie degli empi.
4 A slack hand brings poverty, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.	4 La mano pigra produce miseria, ma il braccio operoso accumula ricchezze. Chi s'appoggia a menzogne si pasce di vento, ed è come se corresse dietro a uccelli che volano.
5 Reaping at harvest-time is the mark of the prudent, sleeping at harvest-time is the sign of theworthless.	5 Chi fa le sue provvisioni al tempo della messe è saggio figliolo; chi poltrisce nell'estate si fa disonore.
6 Blessings are on the head of the upright, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.	6 Sopra il capo elei giusti scendono le benedizioni del Signore, ma l'iniquità ricopre la faccia degli empi.
7 The upright is remembered with blessings, the name of the wicked rots away.	7 La memoria del giusto è benedetta, invece marcirà il nome degli empi.
8 The wise of heart takes orders, but a gabbling fool heads for ruin.	8 L'uomo saggio accetta gli avvertimenti, ma lo stolto è flagellato dai labbri.
9 Anyone whose ways are honourable walks secure, but whoever fol ows crooked ways is soonunmasked.	9 Chi procede con rettitudine va sicuro, ma chi prendo vie perverse sarà scoperto.
10 A wink of the eye brings trouble, a bold rebuke brings peace.	10 Chi strizza l'occhio farà del male, e lo stolto sarà flagellato dalle labbra.
11 The mouth of the upright is a life-giving fountain, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.	11 Sorgente di vita è la bocca del giusto, ma la bocca degli empi racchiude iniquità.
12 Hatred provokes disputes, but love excuses al offences.	12 L'odio eccita le contese: la carità ricopre tutti i peccati.
13 On the lips of the discerning is found wisdom, on the back of a fool, the stick.	13 Sulle labbra del saggio si trova la sapienza, e la verga sul dorso di chi non ha giudizio.
14 Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool makes ruin imminent.	14 I saggi nascondono il loro sapere, la bocca dello stolto è vicina alla confusione.
15 The wealth of the rich is their stronghold, poverty is the undoing of the weak.	15 I beni del ricco sono la sua città forte, la paura dei poveri viene dalla loro miseria.
16 The wage of the upright affords life, but sin is al the wicked earns.	16 Il lavoro del giusto è per la vita, i guadagni dell'empio vanno nel peccato.
17 Whoever abides by discipline, walks towards life, whoever ignores correction goes astray.	17 Chi tien conto della disciplina, è nella via della vita, chi non cura la correzione è fuori di strada.
18 Liars' lips are a cover for hatred, whoever utters slander is a fool.	18 Le labbra bugiarde nascondono l'odio, chi dice contumelie è un insensato.
19 A flood of words is never without fault; whoever controls the lips is wise.	19 Nel molto parlare non roancherà il peccato, ma chi sa frenare le sue labbra ha somma prudenza.
20 The tongue of the upright is purest silver, the heart of the wicked is of trumpery value.	20 La lingua del giusto è come argento fino, ma il cuore degli empi non vai niente.
21 The lips of the upright nourish many peoples, but fools die for want of sense.	21 Le labbra del giusto istruiscono moltissimi; chi non ha ricevuto istruzione morirà por mancanza di giudizio.
22 The blessing of Yahweh is what brings riches, to this, hard toil has nothing to add.	22 La benedizione di Dio è quella che fa ricchi, e non avrà per compagno l'afflizione.
23 A fool takes pleasure in doing wrong, the intel igent in cultivating wisdom.	23 Come per gioco lo stolto fa i delitti, ma la sapienza dell'uomo è la prudenza.
24 What the wicked fears overtakes him, what the upright desires comes to him as a present.	24 Cadrà addosso all'empio ciò che egli paventa; ai giusti sarà dato quello che desiderano.
25 When the storm is over, the wicked is no more, but the upright stands firm for ever.	25 Come tempesta che passa sparirà l'empio, ma il giusto resterà come base eterna.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, smoke to the eyes, so the sluggard to the one who sends him.	26 Come l'aceto ai denti e il fumo agli occhi, cosi il pigro per quelli che lo hanno mandato.
27 The fear of Yahweh adds length to life, the years of the wicked wil be cut short.	27 Il timore del Signore allunga la vita, ma gli anni degli empi saranno accorciati.
28 The hope of the upright is joy, the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.	28 L'attesa dei giusti unirà nella gioia, ma la speranza degli empi andrà in fumo.
29 The way of Yahweh is a rampart for the honest, for evil-doers nothing but ruin.	29 La via del Signore è la forza del semplice e lo spavento dei malfattori.
30 The upright wil never have to give way, but the land wil offer no home for the wicked.	30 Il giusto non vacillerà in eterno, ma gli empi non dimoreranno nel paese.
31 The mouth of the upright utters wisdom, the tongue that deceives wil be cut off.	31 La bocca del giusto darà sapienza, la lingua dei malvagi sarà estirpata.
32 The lips of the upright know about kindness, the mouth of the wicked about deceit.	32 Le labbra del giusto considerano cose gradite, e la bocca degli empi le cose perverse.
