Proverbs 10

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise child is a father's joy, a foolish child a mother's grief.	1 امثال سليمان-الابن الحكيم يسرّ اباه والابن الجاهل حزن امه.
2 Treasures wickedly come by give no benefit, but uprightness brings delivery from death.	2 كنوز الشر لا تنفع. اما البر فينجي من الموت.
3 Yahweh does not let the upright go hungry, but he thwarts the greed of the wicked.	3 الرب لا يجيع نفس الصدّيق ولكنه يدفع هوى الاشرار.
4 A slack hand brings poverty, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.	4 العامل بيد رخوة يفتقر. اما يد المجتهدين فتغني.
5 Reaping at harvest-time is the mark of the prudent, sleeping at harvest-time is the sign of theworthless.	5 من يجمع في الصيف فهو ابن عاقل ومن ينام في الحصاد فهو ابن مخز
6 Blessings are on the head of the upright, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.	6 بركات على راس الصدّيق. اما فم الاشرار فيغشاه ظلم.
7 The upright is remembered with blessings, the name of the wicked rots away.	7 ذكر الصدّيق للبركة واسم الاشرار ينخر.
8 The wise of heart takes orders, but a gabbling fool heads for ruin.	8 حكيم القلب يقبل الوصايا وغبي الشفتين يصرع.
9 Anyone whose ways are honourable walks secure, but whoever fol ows crooked ways is soonunmasked.	9 من يسلك بالاستقامة يسلك بالامان ومن يعوج طرقه يعرّف.
10 A wink of the eye brings trouble, a bold rebuke brings peace.	10 من يغمز بالعين يسبب حزنا والغبي الشفتين يصرع
11 The mouth of the upright is a life-giving fountain, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.	11 فم الصدّيق ينبوع حياة وفم الاشرار يغشاه ظلم.
12 Hatred provokes disputes, but love excuses al offences.	12 البغضة تهيج خصومات والمحبة تستر كل الذنوب.
13 On the lips of the discerning is found wisdom, on the back of a fool, the stick.	13 في شفتي العاقل توجد حكمة. والعصا لظهر الناقص الفهم.
14 Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool makes ruin imminent.	14 الحكماء يذخرون معرفة. اما فم الغبي فهلاك قريب.
15 The wealth of the rich is their stronghold, poverty is the undoing of the weak.	15 ثروة الغني مدينته الحصينة هلاك المساكين فقرهم.
16 The wage of the upright affords life, but sin is al the wicked earns.	16 عمل الصديق للحياة. ربح الشرير للخطية.
17 Whoever abides by discipline, walks towards life, whoever ignores correction goes astray.	17 حافظ التعليم هو في طريق الحياة ورافض التأديب ضال.
18 Liars' lips are a cover for hatred, whoever utters slander is a fool.	18 من يخفي البغضة فشفتاه كاذبتان ومشيع المذمة هو جاهل.
19 A flood of words is never without fault; whoever controls the lips is wise.	19 كثرة الكلام لا تخلو من معصية. اما الضابط شفتيه فعاقل.
20 The tongue of the upright is purest silver, the heart of the wicked is of trumpery value.	20 لسان الصدّيق فضة مختارة. قلب الاشرار كشيء زهيد.
21 The lips of the upright nourish many peoples, but fools die for want of sense.	21 شفتا الصدّيق تهديان كثيرين. اما الاغبياء فيموتون من نقص الفهم.
22 The blessing of Yahweh is what brings riches, to this, hard toil has nothing to add.	22 بركة الرب هي تغني ولا يزيد معها تعبا.
23 A fool takes pleasure in doing wrong, the intel igent in cultivating wisdom.	23 فعل الرذيلة عند الجاهل كالضحك. اما الحكمة فلذي فهم.
24 What the wicked fears overtakes him, what the upright desires comes to him as a present.	24 خوف الشرير هو يأتيه وشهوة الصدّيقين تمنح.
25 When the storm is over, the wicked is no more, but the upright stands firm for ever.	25 كعبور الزوبعة فلا يكون الشرير. اما الصدّيق فاساس مؤبّد.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, smoke to the eyes, so the sluggard to the one who sends him.	26 كالخل للاسنان وكالدخان للعينين كذلك الكسلان للذين ارسلوه.
27 The fear of Yahweh adds length to life, the years of the wicked wil be cut short.	27 مخافة الرب تزيد الايام. اما سنو الاشرار فتقصر.
28 The hope of the upright is joy, the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.	28 منتظر الصدّيقين مفرح. اما رجاء الاشرار فيبيد.
29 The way of Yahweh is a rampart for the honest, for evil-doers nothing but ruin.	29 حصن للاستقامة طريق الرب. والهلاك لفاعلي الاثم.
30 The upright wil never have to give way, but the land wil offer no home for the wicked.	30 الصدّيق لن يزحزح ابدا والاشرار لن يسكنوا الارض.
31 The mouth of the upright utters wisdom, the tongue that deceives wil be cut off.	31 فم الصدّيق ينبت الحكمة. اما لسان الاكاذيب فيقطع.
32 The lips of the upright know about kindness, the mouth of the wicked about deceit.	32 شفتا الصدّيق تعرفان المرضي وفم الاشرار اكاذيب
