1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise child is a father's joy, a foolish child a mother's grief.	1 Proverbi di Salomone. Un figlio saggio dà gioia al padre, un figlio stolto è la tristezza di sua madre.
2 Treasures wickedly come by give no benefit, but uprightness brings delivery from death.	2 Non fanno profitto i tesori iniqui, ma la giustizia libera dalla morte.
3 Yahweh does not let the upright go hungry, but he thwarts the greed of the wicked.	3 Il Signore non fa morire di fame un giusto, ma reprime l'ingordigia degli empi.
4 A slack hand brings poverty, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.	4 Produce indigenza una mano indolente, una mano svelta invece arricchisce.
5 Reaping at harvest-time is the mark of the prudent, sleeping at harvest-time is the sign of theworthless.	5 Chi ammassa d'estate è un uomo assennato, ma chi dorme al raccolto è un uomo spregevole.
6 Blessings are on the head of the upright, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.	6 Le benedizioni del Signore sono sul capo del giusto, ma dolore immaturo chiude la bocca degli empi.
7 The upright is remembered with blessings, the name of the wicked rots away.	7 La memoria del giusto è in benedizione, il nome degli empi invece marcisce.
8 The wise of heart takes orders, but a gabbling fool heads for ruin.	8 Il saggio di cuore accetta i precetti, lo stolto di labbra va invece in rovina.
9 Anyone whose ways are honourable walks secure, but whoever fol ows crooked ways is soonunmasked.	9 Chi cammina sincero, cammina sicuro, ma chi imbocca le vie tortuose è smascherato.
10 A wink of the eye brings trouble, a bold rebuke brings peace.	10 Chi strizza l'occhio, procura tristezza, ma chi corregge con forza, procura la pace.
11 The mouth of the upright is a life-giving fountain, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.	11 Sorgente di vita, la bocca del giusto, ma la bocca degli empi racchiude la violenza.
12 Hatred provokes disputes, but love excuses al offences.	12 L'odio procura i litigi, ma tutte le colpe ricopre l'amore.
13 On the lips of the discerning is found wisdom, on the back of a fool, the stick.	13 Sulla bocca dell'uomo assennato si trova saggezza, ma il bastone è per la schiena dell'insensato.
14 Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool makes ruin imminent.	14 I saggi fan tesoro della scienza, ma la bocca dello stolto è una rovina imminente.
15 The wealth of the rich is their stronghold, poverty is the undoing of the weak.	15 I beni del ricco sono la sua roccaforte, ma la rovina dei poveri è la loro indigenza.
16 The wage of the upright affords life, but sin is al the wicked earns.	16 Il salario del giusto procura la vita, ma il guadagno dell'empio è la rovina.
17 Whoever abides by discipline, walks towards life, whoever ignores correction goes astray.	17 Va verso la vita chi custodisce la disciplina, ma chi trascura la correzione sbanda.
18 Liars' lips are a cover for hatred, whoever utters slander is a fool.	18 Occultano l'odio le labbra giuste, ma chi sparge calunnie è uno stolto.
19 A flood of words is never without fault; whoever controls the lips is wise.	19 Troppe parole non son senza colpa, ma chi frena la lingua è un uomo prudente.
20 The tongue of the upright is purest silver, the heart of the wicked is of trumpery value.	20 Argento colato è la lingua del giusto, ma il cuore degli empi è cosa da poco.
21 The lips of the upright nourish many peoples, but fools die for want of sense.	21 Le labbra del giusto nutron le folle, gli stolti invece muoiono in povertà.
22 The blessing of Yahweh is what brings riches, to this, hard toil has nothing to add.	22 La benedizione del Signore arricchisce, ma niente vi aggiunge lo sforzo.
23 A fool takes pleasure in doing wrong, the intel igent in cultivating wisdom.	23 Allo stolto dà gioia compiere il male, ma agir con saggezza all'uomo sensato.
24 What the wicked fears overtakes him, what the upright desires comes to him as a present.	24 Ciò che l'empio teme gli arriva, ma ai giusti vien dato ciò che desiderano.
25 When the storm is over, the wicked is no more, but the upright stands firm for ever.	25 Passa l'uragano e l'empio non c'è più, il giusto invece resta saldo in eterno.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, smoke to the eyes, so the sluggard to the one who sends him.	26 Come l'aceto per i denti e il fumo per gli occhi, così è il pigro per chi l'ha inviato.
27 The fear of Yahweh adds length to life, the years of the wicked wil be cut short.	27 Il timore del Signore aumenta i giorni, ma gli anni degli empi sono accorciati.
28 The hope of the upright is joy, the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.	28 L'attesa dei giusti è la gioia ma la speranza degli empi va in fumo.
29 The way of Yahweh is a rampart for the honest, for evil-doers nothing but ruin.	29 Il Signore è un rifugio per l'onesto, ma una rovina per chi opera il male.
30 The upright wil never have to give way, but the land wil offer no home for the wicked.	30 Il giusto mai vacillerà, ma gli empi non abiteranno la terra.
31 The mouth of the upright utters wisdom, the tongue that deceives wil be cut off.	31 La bocca del giusto espande sapienza, ma la lingua perversa verrà estirpata.
32 The lips of the upright know about kindness, the mouth of the wicked about deceit.	32 Le labbra del giusto spandono benevolenza, ma la bocca degli empi cose perverse.
