Psalms 94

1 God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth!	1 Lauda, ovver cantico dello stesso Davidde. Venite, esultiamo nel Signore, cantiam le lodi di Dio Salvator nostro:
2 Arise, judge of the world, give back the proud what they deserve!	2 Corriamo a presentarci davanti a lui coll'orazione, e co' salmi celebriamo le sue lodi.
3 How long are the wicked, Yahweh, how long are the wicked to triumph?	3 Imperocché il Signore è un Dia grande, e un re grande sopra tutti gli Dei.
4 They bluster and boast, they flaunt themselves, all the evil-doers.	4 Perocché l'ampiezza tutta della terra egli tiene nella sua mano, e a lui gli altissimi monti appartengono.
5 They crush your people, Yahweh, they oppress your heritage,	5 Perocché di lui è il mare, ed egli lo fece, e dalle mani di lui fu fondata l'arida terra.
6 they murder the widow and the stranger, bring the orphan to a violent death.	6 Venite, adoriamolo, e prostriamoci, e spargiamo lagrime dinanzi al Signore, di cui siamo fattura:
7 They say, 'Yahweh is not looking, the God of Jacob is taking no notice.'	7 Imperocché egli è il Signore Dio nostro, e noi popolo de' suoi paschi, e pecorelle di suo governo.
8 Take notice yourselves, you coarsest of people! Fools, when wil you learn some sense?	8 Oggi se la voce di lui udirete, non vogliate indurare i vostri cuori;
9 Shal he who implanted the ear not hear, he who fashioned the eye not see?	9 Come nel luogo dell'altercazione al di della tentazione nel deserto, dove tentaron me i padri vostri, fecer prova di me, e videro le opere mie.
10 Shal he who instructs nations not punish? Yahweh, the teacher of al people,	10 Per quarant'anni fui disgustato altamente con quella generazione, e dissi: Costoro van sempre errando col cuore.
11 knows human plans and how insipid they are.	11 Ed eglino non han conosciutele mie vie; ond'io giurai sdegnato: Non entreranno nella mia requie.
12 How blessed are those you instruct, Yahweh, whom you teach by means of your law,
13 to give them respite in evil times, til a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 Yahweh will not abandon his people, he wil not desert his heritage;
15 for judgement will again become saving justice, and in its wake al upright hearts will fol ow.
16 Who rises up on my side against the wicked? Who stands firm on my side against al evil-doers?
17 If Yahweh did not come to my help, I should soon find myself dwel ing in the silence.
18 I need only say, 'I am slipping,' for your faithful love, Yahweh, to support me;
19 however great the anxiety of my heart, your consolations soothe me.
20 Are you partner to a destructive court, that gives disorder the status of law?
21 They make an attack on the life of the upright, and condemn innocent blood.
22 No! Yahweh is a stronghold to me, my God is my rock of refuge.
23 He turns back their guilt on themselves, annihilates them for their wickedness, he annihilates them,Yahweh our God.
