1 God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth!	1 Uram, bosszúállás Istene, bosszúállás Istene, jelenj meg!
2 Arise, judge of the world, give back the proud what they deserve!	2 Kelj fel, ó föld bírája, fizess meg a kevélyeknek!
3 How long are the wicked, Yahweh, how long are the wicked to triumph?	3 Meddig fognak, Uram, a bűnösök, meddig fognak még a bűnösök dicsekedni?
4 They bluster and boast, they flaunt themselves, all the evil-doers.	4 Fecsegnek, vakmerően gonoszságot beszélnek és kérkednek mind a gonosztevők.
5 They crush your people, Yahweh, they oppress your heritage,	5 Népedet, Uram, elnyomják, örökségedet sanyargatják.
6 they murder the widow and the stranger, bring the orphan to a violent death.	6 Meggyilkolják az özvegyet s a jövevényt, lemészárolják az árvákat.
7 They say, 'Yahweh is not looking, the God of Jacob is taking no notice.'	7 Azt mondják: »Nem látja ezt az Úr, Nem veszi észre Jákob Istene.«
8 Take notice yourselves, you coarsest of people! Fools, when wil you learn some sense?	8 Eszméljetek, ti oktalanjai a népnek, ostobák mikor tértek észhez?
9 Shal he who implanted the ear not hear, he who fashioned the eye not see?	9 A fül plántálója ne hallana, s a szem alkotója ne látna?
10 Shal he who instructs nations not punish? Yahweh, the teacher of al people,	10 Ne büntetne, aki dorgálja a népeket, aki tudományra tanítja az embert?
11 knows human plans and how insipid they are.	11 Ismeri az Úr az emberek gondolatait és tudja, hogy hiábavalók.
12 How blessed are those you instruct, Yahweh, whom you teach by means of your law,	12 Boldog az az ember, akit te oktatsz, Uram, és megtanítasz törvényedre,
13 to give them respite in evil times, til a pit is dug for the wicked.	13 hogy megóvd őt a gonosz napoktól, amíg a bűnös számára a verem el nem készül.
14 Yahweh will not abandon his people, he wil not desert his heritage;	14 Mert nem taszítja el népét az Úr, és nem hagyja el örökségét.
15 for judgement will again become saving justice, and in its wake al upright hearts will fol ow.	15 Mert az ítélkezés visszatér az igazsághoz, és követik mind az igazszívűek.
16 Who rises up on my side against the wicked? Who stands firm on my side against al evil-doers?	16 Ki kel fel értem a gonoszok ellen, ki áll mellém a gonosztevőkkel szemben?
17 If Yahweh did not come to my help, I should soon find myself dwel ing in the silence.	17 Ha az Úr nem nyújtott volna segítséget, már-már a némaság helyén lakoznék a lelkem.
18 I need only say, 'I am slipping,' for your faithful love, Yahweh, to support me;	18 Ha azt mondtam: »Inog a lábam«, megsegített a te irgalmad, Uram.
19 however great the anxiety of my heart, your consolations soothe me.	19 Bármilyen sok fájdalmam volt szívemben, vigasztalásaid felvidítottak engem.
20 Are you partner to a destructive court, that gives disorder the status of law?	20 Lehet-e köze hozzád a hamisság ítélőszékének, amely nyomorúságot szerez a törvény ellenére?
21 They make an attack on the life of the upright, and condemn innocent blood.	21 Az igaz életére leskelődnek ők, s elítélik az ártatlan vért.
22 No! Yahweh is a stronghold to me, my God is my rock of refuge.	22 De nekem oltalmam lett az Úr, és menedékem sziklája az én Istenem;
23 He turns back their guilt on themselves, annihilates them for their wickedness, he annihilates them,Yahweh our God.	23 Ő megtorolja rajtuk hamisságukat, saját gonoszságukkal semmisíti meg őket; Megsemmisíti őket az Úr, a mi Istenünk.
