2 I rejoice and delight in you, I sing to your name, Most High.	2 Ti voglio lodare, o Signore, con tutto il mio cuore; voglio cantare tutte le tue gesta;
3 My enemies are in retreat, they stumble and perish at your presence,	3 voglio rallegrarmi ed esultare; voglio cantare il tuo nome, o Eccelso.
4 for you have given fair judgement in my favour, seated on your throne as upright judge.	4 Sconfitti, i miei nemici inciampavano e si dileguavano dal tuo cospetto.
5 You have rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, blotted out their name for ever and ever;	5 Poiché hai preso la mia causa e il mio giudizio; ti sei assiso sul tuo trono, tu, giusto giudice.
6 the enemy is wiped out -- mere ruins for ever -- you have annihilated their cities, their memory hasperished. See,	6 Hai minacciato le genti, hai annientato gli empi, cancellando il loro nome in eterno e per sempre.
7 Yahweh is enthroned for ever, keeping his throne firm for judgement;	7 Sono periti i miei nemici, rovine sempiterne sono diventate le città che hai raso al suolo.
8 he wil himself judge the world in uprightness, wil give a true verdict on the nations.	8 Ecco: il Signore, che siede per sempre, per il giudizio ha eretto il suo trono.
9 May Yahweh be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble!	9 E' lui che giudica il mondo con giustizia, che governa i popoli con equità.
10 Those who revere your name can rely on you, you never desert those who seek you, Yahweh.	10 Una rocca sia il Signore per l'oppresso, una rocca in tempi d'angustia;
11 Sing to Yahweh who dwel s in Zion, tel the nations his mighty deeds,	11 si rifugino in te quanti conoscono il tuo nome. Poiché non hai mai abbandonato, o Signore, coloro che ti cercano.
12 for the avenger of blood does not forget them, he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.	12 Cantate al Signore che dimora in Sion, fra i popoli annunziate le sue gesta;
13 Have pity on me, Yahweh, see my affliction, pull me back from the gates of death,	13 poiché ha cura di quelli che piangono, si ricorda del loro lamento, non dimentica il grido dei miseri.
14 that I may recount al your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion and rejoice in your salvation.	14 Il Signore ha avuto pietà di me, il suo sguardo ha rivolto sulla mia afflizione, che mi hanno inflitto quelli che mi odiano; egli mi strappa dalle porte della morte.
15 The nations have fal en into the trap they made, their feet caught in the snare they laid.	15 Per questo narrerò tutte le sue lodi alle porte della figlia di Sion. Per questo esulterò della tua salvezza.
16 Yahweh has made himself known, given judgement, he has ensnared the wicked in the work of theirown hands.Muted music Pause	16 Sprofondarono le genti nella fossa che fecero, nella rete che tesero s'impigliò il loro piede.
17 May the wicked turn away to Sheol, al the nations forgetful of God.	17 Si rese noto il Signore per il giudizio che egli fece, nell'operato delle sue mani incappò il malvagio.
18 For the needy is not forgotten for ever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing.	18 Scendano i malvagi negli inferi, tutte le genti dimentiche di Dio.
19 Arise, Yahweh; human strength shal not prevail. The nations shal stand trial before you.	19 Poiché non si scorda del misero per sempre, non perisce in eterno l'attesa dei poveri.
20 Strike them with terror, Yahweh; the nations shall know that they are no more than human!Pause	20 Sorgi, o Signore, perché l'uomo non si esalti; al tuo cospetto siano giudicate le genti.
	21 Il tuo terrore, o Signore, poni su di loro. Sappiano le genti che sono esseri umani.
