2 I rejoice and delight in you, I sing to your name, Most High.	2 (Alef) Renderò grazie al Signore con tutto il cuore,annuncerò tutte le tue meraviglie.
3 My enemies are in retreat, they stumble and perish at your presence,	3 Gioirò ed esulterò in te,canterò inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo,
4 for you have given fair judgement in my favour, seated on your throne as upright judge.	4 (Bet) mentre i miei nemici tornano indietro,davanti a te inciampano e scompaiono,
5 You have rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, blotted out their name for ever and ever;	5 perché hai sostenuto il mio diritto e la mia causa:ti sei seduto in trono come giudice giusto.
6 the enemy is wiped out -- mere ruins for ever -- you have annihilated their cities, their memory hasperished. See,	6 (Ghimel) Hai minacciato le nazioni, hai sterminato il malvagio,il loro nome hai cancellato in eterno, per sempre.
7 Yahweh is enthroned for ever, keeping his throne firm for judgement;	7 Il nemico è battuto, ridotto a rovine per sempre.È scomparso il ricordo delle città che hai distrutto.
8 he wil himself judge the world in uprightness, wil give a true verdict on the nations.	8 (He) Ma il Signore siede in eterno,stabilisce il suo trono per il giudizio:
9 May Yahweh be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble!	9 governerà il mondo con giustizia,giudicherà i popoli con rettitudine.
10 Those who revere your name can rely on you, you never desert those who seek you, Yahweh.	10 (Vau) Il Signore sarà un rifugio per l’oppresso,un rifugio nei momenti di angoscia.
11 Sing to Yahweh who dwel s in Zion, tel the nations his mighty deeds,	11 Confidino in te quanti conoscono il tuo nome,perché tu non abbandoni chi ti cerca, Signore.
12 for the avenger of blood does not forget them, he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.	12 (Zain) Cantate inni al Signore, che abita in Sion,narrate le sue imprese tra i popoli,
13 Have pity on me, Yahweh, see my affliction, pull me back from the gates of death,	13 perché egli chiede conto del sangue versato,se ne ricorda, non dimentica il grido dei poveri.
14 that I may recount al your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion and rejoice in your salvation.	14 (Het) Abbi pietà di me, Signore,vedi la mia miseria, opera dei miei nemici,tu che mi fai risalire dalle porte della morte,
15 The nations have fal en into the trap they made, their feet caught in the snare they laid.	15 perché io possa annunciare tutte le tue lodi;alle porte della figlia di Sionesulterò per la tua salvezza.
16 Yahweh has made himself known, given judgement, he has ensnared the wicked in the work of theirown hands.Muted music Pause	16 (Tet) Sono sprofondate le genti nella fossa che hanno scavato,nella rete che hanno nascosto si è impigliato il loro piede.
17 May the wicked turn away to Sheol, al the nations forgetful of God.	17 Il Signore si è fatto conoscere, ha reso giustizia;il malvagio è caduto nella rete, opera delle sue mani.
18 For the needy is not forgotten for ever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing.	18 (Iod) Tornino i malvagi negli inferi,tutte le genti che dimenticano Dio.
19 Arise, Yahweh; human strength shal not prevail. The nations shal stand trial before you.	19 (Caf) Perché il misero non sarà mai dimenticato,la speranza dei poveri non sarà mai delusa.
20 Strike them with terror, Yahweh; the nations shall know that they are no more than human!Pause	20 Sorgi, Signore, non prevalga l’uomo:davanti a te siano giudicate le genti.
	21 Riempile di spavento, Signore,riconoscano le genti di essere mortali.
