1 [For the choirmaster On oboe and harp Psalm Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with my whole heart, Irecount al your wonders,	1 - Al corifeo: [sull'aria] «Muori per il figlio». Salmo di David.
2 I rejoice and delight in you, I sing to your name, Most High.	2 Ti loderò, o Signore, con tutto il mio cuore, celebrerò tutte le tue meraviglie;
3 My enemies are in retreat, they stumble and perish at your presence,	3 m'allieterò ed esulterò in te, inneggerò al tuo nome, o Altissimo.
4 for you have given fair judgement in my favour, seated on your throne as upright judge.	4 Mentre si volgono in fuga i miei nemici, son fiaccati e periscono in faccia a te.
5 You have rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, blotted out their name for ever and ever;	5 Perchè hai appoggiato il mio diritto e la mia causa, ti sei assiso in tribunale, o giudice di giustizia.
6 the enemy is wiped out -- mere ruins for ever -- you have annihilated their cities, their memory hasperished. See,	6 Hai rampognato le genti e l'empio è perito; il nome loro hai cancellato in eterno e per tutti i secoli.
7 Yahweh is enthroned for ever, keeping his throne firm for judgement;	7 Del nemico son finite le spade per sempre, e le loro città hai distrutto: perì con chiasso la memoria loro!
8 he wil himself judge the world in uprightness, wil give a true verdict on the nations.	8 Ma il Signore in eterno sta: ha stabilito per il giudizio il suo trono.
9 May Yahweh be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble!	9 E giudica il mondo con equità, regge i popoli con giustizia.
10 Those who revere your name can rely on you, you never desert those who seek you, Yahweh.	10 Ed è il Signore un rifugio all'oppresso, un aiuto a tempo opportuno, nella tribolazione.
11 Sing to Yahweh who dwel s in Zion, tel the nations his mighty deeds,	11 E sperano in te, quei che conoscono il tuo nome, perché tu non abbandoni chi ti cerca, o Signore.
12 for the avenger of blood does not forget them, he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.	12 Inneggiate al Signore che abita in Sion, proclamate tra le genti le sue gesta.
13 Have pity on me, Yahweh, see my affliction, pull me back from the gates of death,	13 Perchè il vendicatore del sangue s'è ricordato di loro, non ha dimenticato il grido degli oppressi.
14 that I may recount al your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion and rejoice in your salvation.	14 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, mira l'afflizione mia per opera de' miei nemici,
15 The nations have fal en into the trap they made, their feet caught in the snare they laid.	15 tu che m' hai tratto su dalle porte della morte, perch'io celebri tutte le tue lodi[e] alle porte della figlia di Sion
16 Yahweh has made himself known, given judgement, he has ensnared the wicked in the work of theirown hands.Muted music Pause	16 esulti per la salvezza [venutami] da te. Sprofondate son le genti nella rovina ch'avevan preparata, nel laccio stesso ch'avevan nascosto restò impigliato il loro piede.
17 May the wicked turn away to Sheol, al the nations forgetful of God.	17 S'è fatto conoscere il Signore col far giustizia: nell'opera delle proprie mani restò preso il peccatore.
18 For the needy is not forgotten for ever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing.	18 Sian travolti gli empi negli Inferi, le genti tutte che dimenticano Dio!
19 Arise, Yahweh; human strength shal not prevail. The nations shal stand trial before you.	19 Perché non per sempre sarà il povero nell'oblio, la paziente attesa de' miseri non sarà frustrata per sempre.
20 Strike them with terror, Yahweh; the nations shall know that they are no more than human!Pause	20 Sorgi, o Signore! Non s'inorgoglisca l'uomo: sian giudicate le genti al tuo cospetto.
	21 Imponi, o Signore, sovr'esse un legislatore [dalla mano di ferro], perché conoscan le genti, che son uomini [e nulla più].
