Psalms 85

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Yahweh, you are gracious to your land, you bringback the captives of Jacob,	1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ ׀ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מִזְמֹור
2 you take away the guilt of your people, you blot out al their sin.Pause	2 רָצִיתָ יְהוָה אַרְצֶךָ בְתָּ [שְׁבוּת כ] (שְׁבִית ק) יַעֲקֹב
3 You retract al your anger, you renounce the heat of your fury.	3 נָשָׂאתָ עֲוֹן עַמֶּךָ כִּסִּיתָ כָל־חַטָּאתָם סֶלָה
4 Bring us back, God our Saviour, appease your indignation against us!	4 אָסַפְתָּ כָל־עֶבְרָתֶךָ הֱשִׁיבֹותָ מֵחֲרֹון אַפֶּךָ
5 Wil you be angry with us for ever? Wil you prolong your wrath age after age?	5 וּבֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ וְהָפֵר כַּעַסְךָ עִמָּנוּ
6 Wil you not give us life again, for your people to rejoice in you?	6 הַלְעֹולָם תֶּאֱנַף־בָּנוּ תִּמְשֹׁךְ אַפְּךָ לְדֹר וָדֹר
7 Show us, Lord, your faithful love, grant us your saving help.	7 הֲלֹא־אַתָּה תָּשׁוּב תְּחַיֵּנוּ וְעַמְּךָ יִשְׂמְחוּ־בָךְ
8 I am listening. What is God's message? Yahweh's message is peace for his people, for his faithful, ifonly they renounce their folly.	8 הַרְאֵנוּ יְהוָה חַסְדֶּךָ וְיֶשְׁעֲךָ תִּתֶּן־לָנוּ
9 His saving help is near for those who fear him, his glory wil dwel in our land.	9 אֶשְׁמְעָה מַה־יְדַבֵּר הָאֵל ׀ יְהוָה כִּי ׀ יְדַבֵּר שָׁלֹום אֶל־עַמֹּו וְאֶל־חֲסִידָיו וְאַל־יָשׁוּבוּ לְכִסְלָה
10 Faithful Love and Loyalty join together, Saving Justice and Peace embrace.	10 אַךְ ׀ קָרֹוב לִירֵאָיו יִשְׁעֹו לִשְׁכֹּן כָּבֹוד בְּאַרְצֵנוּ
11 Loyalty wil spring up from the earth, and Justice wil lean down from heaven.	11 חֶסֶד־וֶאֱמֶת נִפְגָּשׁוּ צֶדֶק וְשָׁלֹום נָשָׁקוּ
12 Yahweh will himself give prosperity, and our soil wil yield its harvest.	12 אֱמֶת מֵאֶרֶץ תִּצְמָח וְצֶדֶק מִשָּׁמַיִם נִשְׁקָף
13 Justice will walk before him, treading out a path.	13 גַּם־יְהוָה יִתֵּן הַטֹּוב וְאַרְצֵנוּ תִּתֵּן יְבוּלָהּ
	14 צֶדֶק לְפָנָיו יְהַלֵּךְ וְיָשֵׂם לְדֶרֶךְ פְּעָמָיו
