¹ [Psalm Of David When he was in the desert of Judah] God, you are my God, I pine for you; my heartthirsts for you, my body longs for you, as a land parched, dreary and waterless.	¹ 'Salmo. Di Davide, quando dimorava nel deserto di Giuda.'
² Thus I have gazed on you in the sanctuary, seeing your power and your glory.	² O Dio, tu sei il mio Dio, all'aurora ti cerco, di te ha sete l'anima mia, a te anela la mia carne, come terra deserta, arida, senz'acqua.
³ Better your faithful love than life itself; my lips wil praise you.	³ Così nel santuario ti ho cercato, per contemplare la tua potenza e la tua gloria.
⁴ Thus I will bless you al my life, in your name lift up my hands.	⁴ Poiché la tua grazia vale più della vita, le mie labbra diranno la tua lode.
⁵ Al my longings fulfil ed as with fat and rich foods, a song of joy on my lips and praise in my mouth.	⁵ Così ti benedirò finché io viva, nel tuo nome alzerò le mie mani.
⁶ On my bed when I think of you, I muse on you in the watches of the night,	⁶ Mi sazierò come a lauto convito, e con voci di gioia ti loderà la mia bocca.
⁷ for you have always been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice;	⁷ Quando nel mio giaciglio di te mi ricordo e penso a te nelle veglie notturne,
⁸ my heart clings to you, your right hand supports me.	⁸ a te che sei stato il mio aiuto, esulto di gioia all'ombra delle tue ali.
⁹ May those who are hounding me to death go down to the depths of the earth,	⁹ A te si stringe l'anima mia e la forza della tua destra mi sostiene.
¹⁰ given over to the blade of the sword, and left as food for jackals.	¹⁰ Ma quelli che attentano alla mia vita scenderanno nel profondo della terra,
¹¹ Then the king shall rejoice in God, al who swear by him shal gain recognition, for the mouths of liarsshall be silenced.	¹¹ saranno dati in potere alla spada, diverranno preda di sciacalli.
