1 [Psalm Of David When he was in the desert of Judah] God, you are my God, I pine for you; my heartthirsts for you, my body longs for you, as a land parched, dreary and waterless.	1 [Ein Psalm Davids, als er in der Wüste Juda war.]
2 Thus I have gazed on you in the sanctuary, seeing your power and your glory.	2 Gott, du mein Gott, dich suche ich, meine Seele dürstet nach dir. Nach dir schmachtet mein Leib wie dürres, lechzendes Land ohne Wasser.
3 Better your faithful love than life itself; my lips wil praise you.	3 Darum halte ich Ausschau nach dir im Heiligtum, um deine Macht und Herrlichkeit zu sehen.
4 Thus I will bless you al my life, in your name lift up my hands.	4 Denn deine Huld ist besser als das Leben; darum preisen dich meine Lippen.
5 Al my longings fulfil ed as with fat and rich foods, a song of joy on my lips and praise in my mouth.	5 Ich will dich rühmen mein Leben lang, in deinem Namen die Hände erheben.
6 On my bed when I think of you, I muse on you in the watches of the night,	6 Wie an Fett und Mark wird satt meine Seele, mit jubelnden Lippen soll mein Mund dich preisen.
7 for you have always been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice;	7 Ich denke an dich auf nächtlichem Lager und sinne über dich nach, wenn ich wache.
8 my heart clings to you, your right hand supports me.	8 Ja, du wurdest meine Hilfe; jubeln kann ich im Schatten deiner Flügel.
9 May those who are hounding me to death go down to the depths of the earth,	9 Meine Seele hängt an dir, deine rechte Hand hält mich fest.
10 given over to the blade of the sword, and left as food for jackals.	10 Viele trachten mir ohne Grund nach dem Leben, aber sie müssen hinabfahren in die Tiefen der Erde.
