1 [Psalm Of David When he was in the desert of Judah] God, you are my God, I pine for you; my heartthirsts for you, my body longs for you, as a land parched, dreary and waterless.	1 Salmo di David. Esaudisci, o Dio, l'orazione mia, mentre ti invoco: dal timore dell'inimico custodisci l'anima mia.
2 Thus I have gazed on you in the sanctuary, seeing your power and your glory.	2 Tu m'hai difeso dalla cospirazione de' maligni: dalla turba di gente data a mal fare.
3 Better your faithful love than life itself; my lips wil praise you.	3 Perocché affilarono come spade le loro lingue, tesero il loro arco (amara cosa) per saettare al buio l'innocente.
4 Thus I will bless you al my life, in your name lift up my hands.	4 Lo saetteranno all'improvviso, e non temeranno: si sono ostinati nello scellerato disegno.
5 Al my longings fulfil ed as with fat and rich foods, a song of joy on my lips and praise in my mouth.	5 Preser consiglio di nascondere i loro lacci, e dissero: Chi gli scoprirà?
6 On my bed when I think of you, I muse on you in the watches of the night,	6 Studiarono invenzioni per fare del male: gli indagatori venner meno nell'indagare.
7 for you have always been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice;	7 Si alzerà l'uomo a grandi disegni: ma Dio sarà esaltato.
8 my heart clings to you, your right hand supports me.	8 Le ferite, ch'ei fanno son ferite di frecce lanciate da fanciullini; e senza forza son rimaste le loro lingue per loro danno.
9 May those who are hounding me to death go down to the depths of the earth,	9 Si sbigottirono tutti quei che li videro, e ogni uomo si intimorì. E annunziarono le opere di Dio, e me ditarono sopra le cose fatte da lui.
10 given over to the blade of the sword, and left as food for jackals.	10 Il giusto si allegrerà nel Signore, e in lui spererà, e lode avranno tutti gli uomini di cuore retto.
11 Then the king shall rejoice in God, al who swear by him shal gain recognition, for the mouths of liarsshall be silenced.
