¹ [Song of Ascents] Often as men have attacked me since I was young -- let Israel repeat it-	¹ Canticum graduum. De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine ;
² often as men have attacked me since I was young, they have never overcome me.	² Domine, exaudi vocem meam. Fiant aures tuæ intendentes in vocem deprecationis meæ.
³ On my back ploughmen have set to work, making long furrows,	³ Si iniquitates observaveris, Domine, Domine, quis sustinebit ?
⁴ but Yahweh the upright has shattered the yoke of the wicked.	⁴ Quia apud te propitiatio est ; et propter legem tuam sustinui te, Domine. Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus :
⁵ Let al who hate Zion be thrown back in confusion,	⁵ speravit anima mea in Domino.
⁶ let them be like grass on a roof, dried up before it is cut,	⁶ A custodia matutina usque ad noctem, speret Israël in Domino.
⁷ never to fil the reaper's arm nor the binder's lap.	⁷ Quia apud Dominum misericordia, et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
⁸ And no passer-by wil say, 'The blessing of Yahweh be on you! 'We bless you in the name ofYahweh.'	⁸ Et ipse redimet Israël ex omnibus iniquitatibus ejus.
