1 [Song of Ascents] Often as men have attacked me since I was young -- let Israel repeat it-	1 Canto delle salite.Quanto mi hanno perseguitato fin dalla giovinezza– lo dica Israele –,
2 often as men have attacked me since I was young, they have never overcome me.	2 quanto mi hanno perseguitato fin dalla giovinezza,ma su di me non hanno prevalso!
3 On my back ploughmen have set to work, making long furrows,	3 Sul mio dorso hanno arato gli aratori,hanno scavato lunghi solchi.
4 but Yahweh the upright has shattered the yoke of the wicked.	4 Il Signore è giusto:ha spezzato le funi dei malvagi.
5 Let al who hate Zion be thrown back in confusion,	5 Si vergognino e volgano le spalletutti quelli che odiano Sion.
6 let them be like grass on a roof, dried up before it is cut,	6 Siano come l’erba dei tetti:prima che sia strappata, è già secca;
7 never to fil the reaper's arm nor the binder's lap.	7 non riempie la mano al mietitorené il grembo a chi raccoglie covoni.
8 And no passer-by wil say, 'The blessing of Yahweh be on you! 'We bless you in the name ofYahweh.'	8 I passanti non possono dire:«La benedizione del Signore sia su di voi,
	9 vi benediciamo nel nome del Signore».
