NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Now, when the wal had been rebuilt and I had hung the doors, the gatekeepers (the singers and theLevites) were then appointed.	1 Cuando estuvieron reconstruidas las murallas y yo coloqué las hojas de las puertas, fueron instalados porteros, como así también cantores y levitas.
2 I entrusted the administration of Jerusalem to my brother Hanani, and to Hananiah the commander ofthe citadel, for he was a more trustworthy, God-fearing man than many others.	2 Puse al frente de Jerusalén a mi hermano Jananí, y designé a Ananías comandante de la ciudadela, porque era un hombre de confianza y temeroso de Dios, más que muchos otros.
3 I said to them, 'The gates of Jerusalem must not be opened until the sun gets hot; and the doors mustbe shut and barred before it begins to go down. Detail guards from the residents of Jerusalem, each to his post,in front of his own house.'	3 Luego les dije: «Las puertas de Jerusalén no se abrirán hasta que comience a calentar el sol, y antes que se haya puesto, se las cerrará con barras. 4 The city was large and spacious but the population was smal , and the houses had not been rebuilt.	4 La ciudad era amplia en todo sentido y espaciosa, pero la población era poco numerosa y no se reconstruían las casas.
5 My God then inspired me to assemble the nobles, the officials and the people for the purpose of takinga census by families. I discovered the genealogical register of those who had returned in the first group, andthere I found entered:	5 Por eso mi Dios me inspiró reunir a los notables, a los magistrados y al pueblo, para hacer el registro genealógico. 6 These are the people of the province who returned from the captivity of the Exile, those whomNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had deported, and who returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his owntown.	6 Estas son las personas de la provincia que volvieron de la cautividad y del exilio. Después de haber sido deportadas por Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, volvieron a Jerusalén y a Judá, cada cual a su ciudad.
7 They were the ones who arrived with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani,Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:	7 Llegaron con Zorobabel, Josué, Nehemías, Azarías, Raamías, Najamaní, Mardoqueo, Bilsán, Mispéret, Bigvai, Nejúm y Baaná. 66 The whole assembly numbered forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty people,	66 Toda la asamblea comprendía 42.360 personas,
67 not counting their slaves and maidservants to the number of seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven. They also had two hundred and forty-five male and female singers.	67 sin contar sus servidores y servidoras, que eran 7.337. Había también 245 cantores y cantoras.

69 A certain number of heads of families contributed to the work. 71 The gifts made by the rest of the people amounted to twenty thousand gold drachmas, two thousandsilver minas, and sixty-seven priestly robes.	71 Lo que entregó el resto del pueblo ascendió a 20.000 monedas de oro, 2.000 monedas de plata y 67 túnicas sacerdotales.
72 The priests, the Levites and some of the people lived in Jerusalem and thereabouts; the singers, thegatekeepers, and the temple slaves in their appropriate towns; and al the other Israelites, in their own towns.Now when the seventh month came round -- the Israelites being in their towns-	72 Los sacerdotes, los levitas, los porteros, los cantores, una parte del pueblo, los empleados del Templo y todo Israel se establecieron en sus ciudades.
