2 Samuel 6

1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 Jednoga dana David opet skupi svu izabranu momčad u Izraelu, trideset tisuća ljudi.
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 Zatim David i sva vojska što je bila s njim krenu na put i odoše u Baalu Judinu da odande donesu Kovčeg Božji, što nosi ime Jahve Sebaota koji stoluje nad kerubinima.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 Kovčeg Božji metnuše na nova kola, iznijevši ga iz kuće Abinadabove, koja je stajala na brežuljku. Uza i Ahjo, Abinadabovi sinovi, pratili su kola.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 Uza je stupao kraj Kovčega Božjeg, a Ahjo išao pred njim.
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 David i sav dom Izraelov igrahu pred Jahvom iz sve snage pjevajući uza zvuke citara, harfa, bubnjeva, udaraljki i cimbala.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Kad su došli do Nakonova gumna, posegnu Uza rukom za Kovčegom Božjim da ga pridrži jer ga volovi umalo ne prevrnuše.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 Ali se Jahve razgnjevio na Uzu: Bog ga na mjestu udari za taj prijestup, tako da je umro ondje, kraj Kovčega Božjega.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 Davidu bijaše žao što je Jahve onako udario Uzu, i on prozva ono mjesto Peres Uza, kako se zove i dan-danas.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 Toga se dana David uplaši Jahve i reče u sebi: »Kako bi mogao doći k meni Kovčeg Jahvin?«
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 Zato David ne htjede dovesti Kovčeg Jahvin k sebi, u Davidov grad, nego ga otpremi u kuću Obed-Edoma iz Gata.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 I ostade Jahvin Kovčeg u kući Obed-Edomovoj u Gatu tri mjeseca i Jahve blagoslovi Obed-Edoma i svu njegovu obitelj.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 Kad su kralju javili da je Jahve blagoslovio Obed-Edomovu obitelj i sav njegov posjed zbog Kovčega Božjeg, ode David i ponese Kovčeg Božji iz Obed-Edomove kuće gore u Davidov grad s velikim veseljem.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 Tek što su nosioci Kovčega Božjeg pokročili šest koraka, David žrtvova vola i tovna ovna.
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 David je igrao iz sve snage pred Jahvom, a bio je ogrnut samo lanenim oplećkom.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 Tako su David i sav Izraelov dom nosili gore Kovčeg Jahvin kličući i trubeći u rog.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 A kad je Kovčeg Jahvin ulazio u Davidov grad, Šaulova je kći Mikala gledala kroz prozor i vidjela kralja Davida kako skače i vrti se pred Jahvom i prezre ga ona u svome srcu.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 Tada unesoše Kovčeg Jahvin i postaviše ga usred šatora koji mu bijaše razapeo David. Onda David prinese pred Jahvom paljenice i pričesnice.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 Pošto je prinio paljenice i pričesnice, David blagoslovi narod imenom Jahve Sebaota.
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 Potom razdijeli među sav narod, među sve mnoštvo Izraelovo, ljudima i ženama, svakome po jedan kruh, komad mesa i kolač od suhoga grožđa. Zatim se raziđe sav narod, svaki svojoj kući.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 Kad se David vratio kući da blagoslovi svoju obitelj, Šaulova kći Mikala iziđe ususret Davidu i reče mu: »Kako se časno danas ponio Izraelov kralj kad se otkrio pred očima sluškinja slugu svojih kao što se otkriva prost čovjek!«
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Ali David odgovori Mikali: »Pred Jahvom ja igram! Tako mi živoga Jahve, koji me izabrao mjesto tvog oca i mjesto svega njegova doma da me postavi za kneza nad Izraelom, narodom Jahvinim: pred Jahvom ću igrati!
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 I još ću se dublje poniziti. Bit ću neznatan u tvojim očima, ali pred sluškinjama o kojima govoriš, pred njima ću biti u časti.«
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 A Mikala, Šaulova kći, ne imade poroda do dana svoje smrti.
