1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 - Davide riunì di nuovo tutti gli uomini più valenti d'Israele, in numero di trentamila
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 e con tutti quelli della tribù di Giuda che erano con lui si levò e partì per trasportare l'arca di Dio, sulla quale fu invocato il nome del Signore degli eserciti, che siede sopra di essa in mezzo ai Cherubini.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 E collocata l'arca di Dio sopra un carro nuovo, la trasportarono dalla casa di Abinadab che era in Gabaa; Oza e Aio, figliuoli di Abinadab, conducevano il carro nuovo.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 Levatala adunque dalla casa di Abinadab che era in Gabaa, Aio, che custodiva l'arca di Dio, la precedeva,
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 mentre Davide e tutto Israele danzavano innanzi al Signore, sonando ogni genere di strumenti di legno: cetre, lire, timpani, sistri e cembali.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Giunti che furono all'aia di Nacon, Oza stese la mano verso l'arca di Dio e la sostenne, perchè i buoi ricalcitravano e l'avevano fatta piegare.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 Il Signore si adirò grandemente contro Oza e lo colpì a causa della sua temerità ed egli morì in quel luogo presso l'arca di Dio.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 Davide si contristò perchè il Signore aveva percosso Oza, e quel luogo fu chiamato " Punizione di Oza ", sino al giorno d'oggi.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 Temette poi Davide il Signore in quel giorno e disse: «Come entrerà in mia casa l'arca del Signore?»;
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 nè volle che l'arca del Signore fosse trasportata presso di sè nella città di Davide, ma la fece condurre in casa di Obededom di Get.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 E l'arca del Signore restò tre mesi nella casa di Obededom Geteo e il Signore benedisse Obededom e tutta la famiglia di lui.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 Essendo poi stato annunziato a Davide che il Signore aveva benedetto Obededom e tutto ciò che gli apparteneva, a cagione dell'arca di Dio, se ne andò e trasportò con giubilo l'arca di Dio dalla casa di Obededom nella città di Davide. Davide aveva con sè sette cori di musici, e inoltre un vitello da immolare.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 E quando quei che portavano l'arca avevano fatto sei passi immolavasi un bue ed un ariete
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 e Davide, cinto di un efod di lino, danzava con tutte le sue forze davanti al Signore.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 Così Davide e tutta la casa d'Israele accompagnavano l'arca del testamento del Signore con giubilo e al suono di trombe.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 All'entrare dell'arca del Signore nella città di Davide, Micol figlia di Saul guardando da una finestra vide il re Davide che saltava e danzava dinanzi al Signore e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 Introdotta poi l'arca del Signore e collocata al suo posto, in mezzo alla tenda che era stata rizzata per lei da Davide, questi offrì al Signore olocausti e vittime pacifiche dinanzi al Signore.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 Quand'ebbe finito di offrire gli olocausti e le vittime pacifiche, benedisse il popolo in nome del Signore degli eserciti
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 e distribuì a tutta la moltitudine d'Israele, uomini e donne, una torta di pane a ciascuno, una porzione di carne di bue arrostito, e un pasticcio di farina fritta coll'olio. Poi tutto il popolo se ne andò ciascuno a casa sua.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 Anche Davide fece ritorno a casa per benedirla e Micol figlia di Saul gli andò incontro dicendo: «Che onore oggi pel re d'Israele che si scopriva alla presenza delle ancelle dei suoi servi, spogliandosi come farebbe un buffone!».
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Ma Davide rispose a Micol: «Davanti al Signore, che elesse me piuttosto che tuo padre o qualsiasi altro della tua casa e mi comandò di essere il duce del popolo del Signore in Israele,
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 danzerò e mi renderò ancora più vile di quel che abbia fatto; e mi renderò abbietto agli occhi miei, e con tutto ciò apparirò più glorioso alle serve di cui tu parlasti».
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 Ora Micol figlia di Saul non ebbe figliuoli fino al giorno della sua morte.
