2 Samuel 6

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 Davi reuniu de novo todo o escol de Israel, ou seja trinta mil homens,
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 e pôs-se a caminho com toda a sua gente, indo a Baalé de Judá, para trazer dali a arca de Deus, sobre a qual é invocado o nome, o nome do Senhor dos exércitos, que se assenta sobre os querubins.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 Colocaram a arca de Deus num carro novo, e levaram-na da casa de Abinadab, situada na colina. Oza e Aquio, filhos de Abinadab conduziram o carro novo.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 {Oza ia} junto da arca de Deus e Aquio marchava diante dela.
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 Davi e toda a casa de Israel dançavam com todo o entusiasmo diante do Senhor, e cantavam acompanhados de harpas e de cítaras, de tamborins, de sistros e de címbalos.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Quando chegaram à eira de Nacon, Oza estendeu a mão para a arca do Senhor e susteve-a, porque os bois tinham escorregado.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 Então a cólera do Senhor se inflamou contra Oza; feriu-o Deus por causa de sua imprudência, e Oza morreu ali mesmo, perto da arca de Deus.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 Davi contristou-se por ter Deus feito essa brecha, ferindo Oza, e por isso chamou àquele lugar Feres-Oza, nome que traz ainda hoje.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 Naquele dia, Davi teve medo do Senhor, e disse: Como entrará a arca do Senhor em minha casa?
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 E não quis deixá-la entrar em sua casa, na cidade de Davi; mandou levá-la para a casa de Obed-Edom de Get.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 Ficou a arca do Senhor três meses na casa de Obed-Edom de Get, e o Senhor abençoou-o com toda a sua família.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 Foi anunciado ao rei que o Senhor abençoava a casa de Obed-Edom e todos os seus bens por causa da arca de Deus. Foi então Davi e fê-la transportar da casa de Obed-Edom para a cidade de Davi, no meio de grandes regozijos.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 Quando os carregadores da arca do Senhor completavam seis passos, sacrificavam-se um boi e um bezerro cevado.
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 Davi dançava com todas as suas forças diante do Senhor, cingido com um efod de linho.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 O rei e todos os israelitas conduziram a arca do Senhor, soltando gritos de alegria e tocando a trombeta.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 Ao entrar a arca do Senhor na cidade de Davi, Micol, filha de Saul, olhando pela janela, viu o rei Davi saltando e dançando diante do Senhor, e desprezou-o em seu coração.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 A arca foi introduzida e instalada em seu lugar, no centro do tabernáculo que Davi construíra para ela, e Davi ofereceu holocaustos e sacrifícios pacíficos.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 Terminadas essas cerimônias, abençoou o povo em nome do Senhor dos exércitos,
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 e distribuiu a toda a multidão do povo de Israel, tanto aos homens como às mulheres, a cada um, um bolo, um pedaço de carne e uma torta. E retirou-se toda a multidão, indo cada um para a sua casa.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 Voltando Davi para abençoar a família, Micol, filha de Saul, veio-lhe ao encontro e disse-lhe: Como se distinguiu hoje o rei de Israel, dando-se em espetáculo às servas de seus servos, e descobrindo-se sem pudor, como qualquer um do povo!
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Foi diante do Senhor que dancei, replicou Davi; diante do Senhor que me escolheu e me preferiu a teu pai e a toda a tua família, para fazer-me o chefe de seu povo de Israel. Foi diante do Senhor que dancei.
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 E me abaixarei ainda mais, e me aviltarei aos teus olhos, mas serei honrado pelas escravas de que falaste.
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 E Micol, filha de Saul, não teve mais filhos até o dia de sua morte.
