1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 Indi raunò nuovamente Davidde tutti i soldati scelti d'Israele, trenta mila.
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 E si mosse David, e tutta la gente che era con lui della tribù di Giuda, per andare a prendere l’arca di Dio, la quale prende nome dal Signore degli eserciti, che in essa risiede sopra i Cherubini.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 E posero l’arca di Dio sopra un carro nuovo, e la levarono dalla casa di Abinadab abitante in Gabaa; e Oza, e Ahio figliuoli di Abinadab conducevano il carro nuovo.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 E avendo levata l’arca di Dio dalla casa di Abinadab abitante di Gabaa, il quale la custodiva, Ahio andava innanzi all'arca.
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 E David, e tutto Israele sonavano al Signore ogni specie di strumenti di legno, e cetre, e lire, e timpani, e sistri, e cimbali.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Ma arrivati che furono all'aja di Nachon, Oza stese la mano all’arca di Dio, e la tenne: perchè i bovi ricalcitravano e l'avean fatta piegare.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 E il Signore si sdegnò altamente contro Oza, e lo punì di sua temerità: ed ei sì morì nello stesso luogo presso all'arca di Dio.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 E David si afflisse, perché il Signore avea punito Oza, e fino al dì d'oggi fu nomato quel luogo, Punizione d'Oza.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 E David temè il Signore in quel giorno, e disse: Come entrerà ella in mia casa l’arca del Signore?
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 E non volle che l'arca del Signore andasse a posarsi in casa sua nella città di David: ma la fece porre nella casa di Obededom di Geth.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 E abitò l'arca del Signore in Geth nella casa di Obededom per tre mesi: e il Signore benedisse Obededom, e tutta la sua casa.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 E fu detto al re David, come il Signore avea benedetto Obededom, e tutte le cose sue per riguardo all'arca di Dio. Andò adunque David, e condusse l'arca di Dio dalla casa di Obededom, nella città di David con gaudio: e David avea seco sette cori (di musici), e un vitello da immolare.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 E quando quei che portavan l'arca del Signore, avean fatto sei passi, egli immolava un bue, e un ariete.
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 E David saltava a tutta forza dinanzi al Signore: ed era cinto di un Ephod di lino.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 E David, e tutta la casa d'Israele conducevan l’arca del testamento del Signore con giubilo, e a suon di tromba.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 E quando l'arca del Signore fu entrata nelle città di David, Michol figliuola di Saul mirando da una finestra, vide il re David che ballava, e saltava dinanzi al Signore: e in cuor suo lo disprezzò.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 Or l’arca del Signore fu introdotta, e collocata a suo posto in mezzo al tabernacolo, che aveale alzato Davidde: e Davidde offerse olocausti, e vittime pacifiche dinanzi al Signore.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 E finito che ebbe di offerire olocausti, le vittime pacifiche, benedisse il popolo nel nome del Signore degli eserciti.
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 E donò a tutta la moltitudine d’Israele, uomini, e donne, a ciascuno una torta di pasta, e un pezzo di carne di bue arrostita, e del fior di farina fritta coll’olio: e tutto il popolo se ne tornò ciascuno a casa sua.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 E David tornò a casa sua per benedirla: e Michol figliuola di Saul al suo arrivo andogli incontro, e disse: bella figura che ha fatto oggi il re d'Israele, spogliandosi alla presenza delle serve de' servi suoi, egli che si è fatto veder nudo, come farebbe un buffone!
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Ma David disse a Michol: Al cospetto del Signore, il quale elesse me invece del padre tuo, e di tutta la sua famiglia, e mi ha comandato di essere capo del popolo del Signore in Israele,
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 Io ballerò, e mi abbasserò più ancora di quel che ho fatto: e sarò abbietto negli occhi miei, e comparirò vie più glorioso dinanzi alle serve che tu hai nominate.
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 Or non ebbe Michol figliuola di Saul verun figliuolo sino al giorno della sua morte.
