2 Samuel 6

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 Davide radunò un'altra volta tutti gli uomini scelti d'Israele in numero di trentamila.
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 Poi si levò con tutto il suo popolo e partì da Baalà di Giuda per prelevare l'arca di Dio dedicata al Signore degli eserciti che siede sui cherubini.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 Caricarono l'arca di Dio su un carro nuovo e l'asportarono dalla casa di Abinadàb, che era sulla collina. Uzzà e Achìo, figli di Abinadàb, guidavano il carro nuovo.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 Uzzà stava presso l'arca di Dio e Achìo camminava davanti ad essa.
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 Davide e tutta la casa d'Israele facevano festa alla presenza del Signore con tutte le loro forze, cantando con cetre, arpe, tamburi, sistri e cembali.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Giunti all'aia di Nacon, Uzzà stese la mano verso l'arca di Dio e l'afferrò, perché i buoi avevano deviato.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 Allora si accese l'ira del Signore contro Uzzà e Dio lo abbatté lì per quella temerità ed egli morì presso l'arca di Dio.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 Davide rimase costernato dal fatto che il Signore avesse investito con impeto Uzzà. Così fu quel luogo chiamato Perez-Uzzà fino ad oggi.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 In quel giorno Davide ebbe timore del Signore e disse: "Come potrà venire da me l'arca del Signore?".
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 Davide non volle trasportare presso di sé l'arca del Signore nella Città di Davide, ma la fece condurre alla casa di Obed-Edom, di Gat.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 L'arca del Signore rimase per tre mesi nella casa di Obed-Edom, di Gat; il Signore benedisse Obed-Edom e tutta la sua casa.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 Fu riferito al re Davide: "Il Signore ha benedetto la casa di Obed-Edom e tutte le sue cose a causa dell'arca di Dio". Allora Davide andò e trasportò con festa l'arca di Dio dalla casa di Obed-Edom alla Città di Davide.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 Quando i portatori dell'arca del Signore ebbero fatto sei passi, egli sacrificò un bue e un vitello grasso.
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 Davide danzava con tutto l'ardore davanti al Signore, cinto di un efod di lino.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 Così Davide e tutta la casa d'Israele trasportarono l'arca del Signore con acclamazioni e con suono di corno.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 Quando l'arca del Signore stava entrando nella Città di Davide, Mikal, figlia di Saul, si affacciò alla finestra e visto il re Davide saltare e danzare davanti al Signore, lo disprezzò in cuor suo.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 L'arca del Signore fu introdotta e messa al suo posto in mezzo alla tenda che Davide aveva eretto per essa. Poi Davide offrì olocausti e sacrifici davanti al Signore.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 Terminato di offrire l'olocausto e i sacrifici, Davide benedisse il popolo nel nome del Signore degli eserciti.
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 Poi distribuì a tutto il popolo, a tutta la moltitudine d'Israele, uomini e donne, una focaccia di pane, un pezzo di carne, un pugno di uva passa. E tutto il popolo se ne ritornò, ognuno a casa sua.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 Quando Davide fece ritorno per benedire la sua casa, gli uscì incontro Mikal, figlia di Saul, e disse: "Come si è fatto onore oggi il re d'Israele, che si è spogliato sotto gli occhi delle serve dei suoi servi, proprio come si spoglia uno dei tanti sfaccendati!".
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Davide rispose a Mikal: "Voglio danzare alla presenza del Signore, che mi ha preferito a tuo padre e a tutta la sua casa, stabilendomi principe sul popolo del Signore, su Israele; sì, alla presenza del Signore
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 mi renderò spregevole ancor più di così e sarò umile ai suoi occhi, ma presso le serve di cui mi parli, presso di loro, voglio coprirmi di gloria".
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 Mikal, figlia di Saul, non ebbe figli fino al giorno della sua morte.
