NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 Dávid aztán ismét egybegyűjtötte Izraelnek valamennyi, harmincezer válogatottját.
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 Majd felkerekedett Dávid, s a Júda emberei közül vele tartó egész néppel együtt elment, hogy elhozza az Isten ládáját, amely a kerubok közt rajta ülő Seregek Urának nevéről kapta nevét.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 Fel is tették az Isten ládáját egy új szekérre, s elhozták a gibeai Abinádáb házából. Óza és Ahió, Abinádáb fiai vezették az új szekeret.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 Miközben hozták a gibeai Abinádáb házából, Ahió, őrizve az Isten ládáját, a láda előtt haladt,
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 Dávid pedig s egész Izrael játszott az Úr előtt mindenféle fahangszeren, lanton, hárfán, dobon, csörgőn és cintányéron.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Amikor azonban Nákon szérűjéhez értek, Óza kinyújtotta kezét az Isten ládájára és elkapta, mert a marhák kirúgtak, és csaknem lefordították.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 Erre az Úr haragra gerjedt Óza ellen, s megverte őt vakmerőségéért, úgyhogy ott halt meg az Isten ládája mellett.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 Erre Dávid elszomorodott, hogy az Úr megverte Ózát, és elnevezte azt a helyet Óza megverésének. Úgy is hívják mind a mai napig.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 Majd megijedt Dávid az Úrtól azon napon, és azt mondta: »Hogyan jöjjön az Úr ládája hozzám?«
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 Éppen azért nem akarta magához, a Dávid-városba vinni az Isten ládáját, hanem a geti Obededom házába vitte.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 Így a geti Obededom házában maradt az Úr ládája három hónapig, s az Úr megáldotta érte Obededomot és egész házát.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 Hírül vitték erre Dávid királynak, hogy az Úr megáldotta Obededomot és mindenét az Isten ládájáért. Erre Dávid elment, s vigasság közepette átvitte az Isten ládáját Obededom házából a Dávid-városba. Dávid hét énekkart és áldozati borjút is vitt magával.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 Amikor aztán az Úr ládájának hordozói hat lépést haladtak, bemutatott egy marhát és egy kost.
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 Dávid teljes erejéből táncolt az Úr előtt; közben Dávidot gyolcs efód övezte.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 Így vitte Dávid és Izrael egész háza az Úr bizonyságának ládáját ujjongás és harsonaszó közepett.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 Amikor azonban az Úr ládája Dávid városába jutott, Míkol, Saul lánya, aki az ablakon kinézett, meglátta az Úr előtt ugráló és táncoló Dávid királyt, és megvetette őt szívében.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 Az Úr ládáját aztán bevitték, s elhelyezték a helyére, annak a sátornak a közepére, amelyet Dávid állíttatott neki, majd egészen elégő áldozatokat s békeáldozatokat mutatott be Dávid az Úr előtt.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 Amikor aztán befejezte az egészen elégő áldozatok s a békeáldozatok bemutatását, megáldotta a népet a seregek Urának nevében
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 és juttatott Izrael egész sokaságának, férfinak, asszonynak egyaránt egy-egy cipó kenyeret, egy-egy darab sült marhahúst, meg egy-egy olajjal gyúrt kalácsot. Aztán elment az egész nép, mindenki a maga házába.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 Visszatért Dávid is, hogy megáldja a maga házát. Ekkor Míkol, Saul lánya kiment Dávid elé, és azt mondta: »Milyen dicső volt ma Izrael királya, amikor felfedte magát szolgáinak szolgálói előtt, s olyan mezítelenül jelent meg, mint amilyen mezítelenül jelenik meg valami bohóc.«
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Azt mondta erre Dávid Míkolnak: »Az Úr előtt, aki inkább engem választott, mint apádat s egész házát, s aki engem rendelt az Úr népének, Izraelnek fejedelmévé,
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 igenis játszom, s akár még alábbvaló leszek, mint voltam, akár még inkább megalázom magamat önmagam előtt, akár még ‘dicsőbb’-nek mutatkozom a szolgálók előtt, akikről beszéltél.« –
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 Ezért Míkolnak, Saul lányának nem született gyermeke halála napjáig.
