2 Samuel 6

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 David again mustered al the picked troops of Israel, thirty thousand men.	1 David reunió nuevamente a lo más selecto de Israel –treinta mil hombres–
2 Setting off with the whole force then with him, David went to Baalah of Judah, from there to bring up theark of God, who bears the title 'Yahweh Sabaoth, enthroned on the winged creatures'.	2 y con todo el pueblo que lo acompañaba se dirigió hacia Baalá de Judá, para subir de allí el Arca de Dios, la cual es llamada con el Nombre, el nombre del Señor de los ejércitos, que tiene su trono sobre los querubines.
3 They transported the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of Abinadab's house which is on thehil . Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the cart,	3 Luego cargaron el Arca de Dios en un carro nuevo y se la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab, que está sobre la colina. Uzá y Ajió, los hijos de Abinadab, conducían el carro.
4 Uzzah walked alongside the ark of God and Ahio went in front.	4 Uzá iba al lado del Arca, y Ajió avanzaba delante de ella.
5 David and the whole House of Israel danced before Yahweh with al their might, singing to theaccompaniment of harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.	5 Mientras tanto, David y toda la casa de Israel hacían grandes festejos en honor del Señor, cantando al son de cítaras, arpas, tamboriles, címbalos y platillos.
6 When they came to Nacon's threshing-floor, Uzzah reached his hand out to the ark of God andsteadied it, as the oxen were making it tilt.	6 Cuando llegaron a la era de Nacón, Uzá extendió su mano hacia el Arca de Dios y la sostuvo, porque los bueyes habían resbalado.
7 This roused Yahweh's anger against Uzzah, and for this crime God struck him down on the spot, andthere he died beside the ark of God.	7 Entonces la ira del Señor se encendió contra Uzá, y Dios lo hirió allí mismo por ese error. Así el murió junto al Arca de Dios.
8 David resented Yahweh's having broken out against Uzzah, and the place was given the name Perez-Uzzah, which it still has today.	8 David se conmovió, porque el Señor había acometido contra Uzá, y aquel lugar se llamó Peres Uzá –que significa "Brecha de Uzá"– hasta el día de hoy.
9 That day David felt afraid of Yahweh. 'How can the ark of Yahweh come to be with me?' he said.	9 Aquel día, David tuvo miedo del Señor y dijo: «¿Cómo va a entrar en mi casa el Arca del Señor?».
10 So David decided not to take the ark of Yahweh with him into the city of David but diverted it to thehouse of Obed-Edom of Gath.	10 Y no quiso trasladar el Arca del Señor a su casa, a la Ciudad de David, sino que mandó que la llevaran a la casa de Obededom de Gat.
11 The ark of Yahweh remained in the house of Obed-Edom of Gath for three months, and Yahwehblessed Obed-Edom and his whole family.	11 El Arca del Señor permaneció tres meses en la casa de Obededom de Gat, y el Señor bendijo a Obededom y a toda su familia.
12 King David was informed that Yahweh had blessed Obed-Edom's family and everything belonging tohim on account of the ark of God. David accordingly went and, amid great rejoicing, brought the ark of God upfrom Obed-Edom's house to the City of David.	12 Cuando informaron a David: «El Señor ha bendecido a la familia de Obededom y todos sus bienes a causa del Arca de Dios», David partió e hizo subir el Arca de Dios desde la casa de Obededom a la Ciudad de David, con gran alegría.
13 When the bearers of the ark of Yahweh had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fat sheep.	13 Los que transportaban el Arca del Señor avanzaron seis pasos, y él sacrificó un buey un ternero cebado.
14 And David danced whirling round before Yahweh with al his might, wearing a linen loincloth.	14 David, que sólo llevaba ceñido un efod de lino, iba danzando con todas sus fuerzas delante del Señor.
15 Thus with war cries and blasts on the horn, David and the entire House of Israel brought up the ark ofYahweh.	15 Así, David y toda la casa de Israel subieron el Arca del Señor en medio de aclamaciones y al sonido de trompetas.
16 Now as the ark of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul was watching from thewindow and when she saw King David leaping and whirling round before Yahweh, the sight of him fil ed her withcontempt.	16 Mientras el Arca del Señor entraba en la Ciudad de David, Mical, la hija de Saúl, se asomó por la ventana. Y al ver al rey David que saltaba y danzaba delante del Señor, lo despreció en su corazón.
17 They brought the ark of Yahweh in and put it in position, inside the tent which David had erected for it;and David presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices in Yahweh's presence.	17 Luego introdujeron el Arca del Señor y la instalaron en su sitio, en medio de la carpa que David había levantado para ella, y David ofreció holocaustos y sacrificios de comunión delante del Señor.
18 And when David had finished presenting burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name ofYahweh Sabaoth.	18 Cuando David terminó de ofrecer el holocausto y los sacrificios de comunión, bendijo al pueblo en nombre del Señor de los ejércitos.
19 To al the people, to the whole multitude of Israelites, men and women, he then distributed to each aloaf of bread, a portion of dates and a raisin cake. Then the people al went back to their homes.	19 Después repartió a todo el pueblo, a toda la multitud de Israel, hombres y mujeres, una hogaza de pan, un pastel de dátiles y uno de pasas de uva por persona. Luego todo el pueblo se fue, cada uno a su casa.
20 As David was coming back to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him.'Much honour the king of Israel has won today,' she said, 'making an exhibition of himself under the eyes of hisservant-maids, making an exhibition of himself like a buffoon!'	20 Cuando David se volvía para bendecir a su casa, le salió al encuentro Mical, la hija de Saúl, y le dijo: «¡Hoy sí que se ha lucido el rey de Israel, mostrándose desnudo a la vista de las esclavas de sus servidores, como se desnudaría un inútil cualquiera!».
21 David replied to Michal, 'I was dancing for Yahweh, not for them. As Yahweh lives, who chose me inpreference to your father and his whole family to make me leader of Israel, Yahweh's people, I shal dancebefore Yahweh and	21 Pero David replicó a Mical: «Lo hice delante del Señor, que me eligió en lugar de tu padre y de toda su casa, para constituirme jefe del pueblo del Señor, de Israel. He bailado ante el Señor,
22 lower myself even further than that. In your eyes I may be base, but by the maids you speak of, bythem, I shal be held in honour!'	22 y me humillaré todavía más, envileciéndome así a tus ojos. En cambio, esas esclavas de que hablas, ellas sí me considerarán digno de honra».
23 And to the day of her death, Michal, daughter of Saul, had no children.	23 Y Mical, hija de Saúl, no tuvo hijos hasta el día de su muerte.
