Genesis 36

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 These are the descendants of Esau, that is, Edom.	1 La descendencia de Esaú –es decir, de Edom– es la siguiente:
2 Esau chose his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamahdaughter of Anah, son of Zibeon the Horite,	2 Esaú tomó sus esposas de entre las mujeres cananeas: a Adá, hija de Elón, el hitita; a Oholibamá, hija de Aná, que a su vez era hijo de Sibeón, el jivita;
3 Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.	3 y a Basmat, hija de Ismael y hermana de Nebaiot.
4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel,	4 Adá fue madre de Elifaz; Basmat, madre de Reuel
5 Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the sons of Esau born to him in Canaan.	5 y Oholibamá, madre de Ieús, Ialam y Coré. Estos son los hijos que Esaú tuvo en Canaán.
6 Esau took his wives, his sons and daughters, al the members of his household, his livestock, al hiscattle and al the goods he had acquired in Canaan and left for Seir, away from his brother Jacob.	6 Después Esaú tomó a sus mujeres, a sus hijos e hijas, y a toda su servidumbre, su ganado, todos sus animales, y todos sus bienes que había adquirido en Canaán, y emigró a Seír, lejos de su hermano Jacob.
7 For they had acquired too much to live together. The land in which they were at that time could notsupport them both because of their livestock.	7 Porque los dos tenían demasiadas posesiones para vivir juntos, y el territorio donde residían no daba abasto para tanto ganado.
8 That is why Edom settled in the mountainous region of Seir. Esau is Edom.	8 Así Esaú se estableció en la montaña de Seír. Esaú es Edom.
9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of Edom, in the mountainous region of Seir.	9 Esta es la descendencia de Esaú, padre de Edom, en la montaña de Seír.
10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz son of Esau's wife Adah, and Reuel son of Esau's wifeBasemath.	10 Los nombres de sus hijos son los siguientes: Elifaz, hijo de Adá, mujer de Esaú, y Reuel, hijo de Basmat, mujer de Esaú.
11 The sons of Eliphaz were: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz.	11 Los hijos de Elifaz fueron: Temán, Omar, Sefó, Gaetam y Quenaz.
12 Eliphaz son of Esau had Timna for concubine and she bore him Amalek. These were the sons ofEsau's wife Adah.	12 Elifaz, el hijo de Esaú, también tuvo una esclava, Timná, que fue madre de Amalec. Estos son los descendientes de Adá, la mujer de Esaú.
13 These were the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the sons ofEsau's wife Basemath.	13 Los hijos de Reuel fueron: Nájat, Zéraj, Samá y Mizá. Estos son los descendientes de Basmat, la mujer de Esaú.

15 These are the chieftains of Esau. The descendants of Eliphaz, Esau's eldest son: the chieftains ofTeman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,	15 Los clanes de los hijos de Esaú son los siguientes: Los hijos de Elifaz, el primogénito de Esaú, fueron los clanes de Temán, Omar, Sefó, Quenaz,
16 Gatam and Amalek. These are the chieftains of Eliphaz in Edom and are descended from Adah.	16 Coré, Gaetam y Amalec. Estos son los clanes de Elifaz en el país de Edom, los que descienden de Adá.
17 The descendants of Esau's son Reuel: the chieftains of Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah.These are the chieftains of Reuel in Edom and are descended from Esau's wife Basemath.	17 Los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú, fueron los clanes de Nájat, Zéraj, Samá y Mizá. 18 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah: the chieftains of Jeush, Jalam and Korah. 19 These were the sons of Esau -- that is, Edom -- and these are their chieftains.	19 Estos son los hijos de Esaú –es decir, de Edom– con sus respectivos clanes.
20 These are the sons of Seir the Horite, natives of the country: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,	20 Los hijos de Seír, el hurrita, que vivían en aquella región son los siguientes: Lotán, Sobal, Sibeón, Aná,
21 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan; these were the Horite chieftains descended from Seir, in Edom.	21 Disón, Eser y Disán. Estos son los clanes de los hurritas, hijos de Seír, en el país de Edom.
22 The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam, and Lotan's sister was Timna.	22 Los hijos de Lotán fueron Jorí y Hemam, y la hermana de Lotán fue Timná.
23 These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam.	23 Los hijos de Sobal fueron Alván, Manájat, Ebal, Sefó y Onam.
24 These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah, Anah -- the Anah who found the hot springs in the desert whilepasturing his father Zibeon's donkeys.	24 Los hijos de Sibeón: Aiá y Aná. Este es el mismo Aná que encontró las aguas termales en el desierto, mientras apacentaba los rebaños de su padre Sibeón.
25 These are the children of Anah: Dishon, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.	25 Los hijos de Aná fueron Disón y Oholibamá, hija de Aná.
26 These are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Cheran.	26 Los hijos de Disón fueron Jemdam, Esbán, Itrán y Querán.
27 These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan.	27 Los hijos de Eser fueron Bilhán, Zaaván y Acán.
28 These are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.	28 Los hijos de Disán fueron Us y Arán.
29 These are the Horite chieftains: the chieftains of Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,	29 Los clanes de los hurritas fueron Lotán, Sobal, Sibeón, Aná,
30 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These are the chieftains of the Horites, by their clans, in Seir.	30 Disón, Eser y Disán. Estos son, uno por uno los clanes de los hurritas en el territorio de Seír.
31 These are the kings who reigned in Edom before an Israelite king.	31 Los reyes que reinaron en el país de Edom antes que ningún rey reinara sobre los israelitas son los siguientes:
32 In Edom reigned Bela son of Beor; his city was cal ed Dinhabah.	32 Belá, hijo de Beor, reinó en Edom, y el nombre de su ciudad era Dinhabá.
33 Bela died and Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded.	33 Cuando murió Belá, lo sucedió Iobab, hijo de Zéraj, de Bosrá.
34 Jobab died and Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded.	34 Cuando murió Iobab, lo sucedió Jusam, del país de los temanitas.
35 Husham died and Hadad son of Bedad succeeded; he defeated the Midianites in Moab, and his citywas called Avith.	35 Cuando murió Jusam, lo sucedió Hadad, hijo de Bedad, el que derrotó a Madián en el campo de Moab; el nombre de su ciudad era Avit.
36 Hadad died and Samlah of Masrekah succeeded.	36 Cuando murió Hadad, lo sucedió Samlá, de Masrecá.
37 Samlah died and Shaul of Rehoboth-ha-Nahar succeeded.	37 Cuando murió Samlá, lo sucedió Saúl, de Rejobot del Río.
38 Shaul died and Baal-Hanan son of Achbor succeeded.	38 Cuando murió Saúl, lo sucedió Baal Janán, hijo de Acbor.
39 Baal-Hanan died and Hadad succeeded; his city was called Pau and his wife's name was Mehetabeldaughter of Matred, from Mezahab.	39 Cuando murió Baal Janán, hijo de Acbor, lo sucedió Hadad; el nombre de su ciudad era Pau, y el nombre de su mujer, Mehetabel, hija de Matred, que a su vez era hija de Mezahab.
40 These are the names of the chieftains of Esau -- according to their clans and localities: the chieftainsof Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,	40 Los clanes de Esaú –cada uno con sus familias, sus localidades y sus nombres– son los siguientes: Timná, Alvá, Iétet.
41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,	41 Oholibamá, Elá, Pinón
42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,	42 Quenaz, Temán, Mibsar,
43 Magdiel and Iram. These are the chieftains of Edom, as settled in the territory which they own. Esauwas Edom's ancestor.	43 Magdiel e Iram. Estos son los clanes de Edom que residen en sus propios territorios. Esaú es el padre de Edom.
