NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Say to the LORD, "My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust."2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
God will rescue you from the fowler's snare, from the destroying plague,3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Will shelter you with pinions, spread wings that you may take refuge; God's faithfulness is a protecting shield.4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
You shall not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day,5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor the pestilence that roams in darkness, nor the plague that ravages at noon.6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Though a thousand fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, near you it shall not come.7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
You need simply watch; the punishment of the wicked you will see.8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
You have the LORD for your refuge; you have made the Most High your stronghold.9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent.10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways.11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
With their hands they shall support you, lest you strike your foot against a stone.12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the asp and the viper, trample the lion and the dragon.13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Whoever clings to me I will deliver; whoever knows my name I will set on high.14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
All who call upon me I will answer; I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With length of days I will satisfy them and show them my saving power.16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
