Psalms 91

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,	1 Tú que vives al amparo del Altísimo y resides a la sombra del Todopoderoso,
2 Say to the LORD, "My refuge and fortress, my God in whom I trust."	2 di al Señor: «Mi refugio y mi baluarte, mi Dios, en quien confío».
3 God will rescue you from the fowler's snare, from the destroying plague,	3 El te librará de la red del cazador y de la peste perniciosa;
4 Will shelter you with pinions, spread wings that you may take refuge; God's faithfulness is a protecting shield.	4 te cubrirá con sus plumas, y hallarás un refugio bajo sus alas.
5 You shall not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day,	5 No temerás los terrores de la noche, ni la flecha que vuela de día,
6 Nor the pestilence that roams in darkness, nor the plague that ravages at noon.	6 ni la peste que acecha en las tinieblas, ni la plaga que devasta a pleno sol.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, near you it shall not come.	7 Aunque caigan mil a tu izquierda y diez mil a tu derecha, tú no serás alcanzado:
8 You need simply watch; the punishment of the wicked you will see.	8 Con sólo dirigir una mirada, verás el castigo de los malos,
9 You have the LORD for your refuge; you have made the Most High your stronghold.	9 porque hiciste del Señor tu refugio y pusiste como defensa al Altísimo.
10 No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent.	10 No te alcanzará ningún mal, ninguna plaga se acercará a tu carpa,
11 For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways.	11 porque hiciste del Señor tu refugio y pusiste como defensa al Altísimo
12 With their hands they shall support you, lest you strike your foot against a stone.	12 Ellos te llevarán en sus manos para que no tropieces contra ninguna piedra;
13 You shall tread upon the asp and the viper, trample the lion and the dragon.	13 caminarás sobre leones y víboras, pisotearás cachorros de león y serpientes.
14 Whoever clings to me I will deliver; whoever knows my name I will set on high.	14 «El se entregó a mí, por eso, yo lo glorificaré; lo protegeré, porque conoce mi Nombre;
15 All who call upon me I will answer; I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.	15 me invocará, y yo le responderé. Estará con él en el peligro, lo defenderé y lo glorificaré;
16 With length of days I will satisfy them and show them my saving power.	16 le haré gozar de una larga vida y le haré ver mi salvación».
