1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.	1 Genealogia de Jesus Cristo, filho de David, filho de Abraão.
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;	2 Abraão gerou Isaac, Isaac gerou Jacob, Jacob gerou Judá e seus irmãos,
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;	3 Judá gerou, de Tamar, Farés e Zara, Farés gerou Esron, Esron gerou Arâo,
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;	4 Arão gerou Aminadab, Aminadab gerou Naasson, Naasson gerou Salmon,
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;	5 Salmon gerou Booz de Raab, Booz gerou Obed de Rut, Obed gerou Jessé, Jessé gerou o rei David.
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;	6 David gerou Salomão daquela que foi (mulher) de Urias.
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;	7 Salomão gerou Roboão, Roboão gerou Abias, Abias gerou Asa,
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;	8 Asa gerou Josafat, Josafat gerou Jorão, Jorão gerou Ozias,
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;	9 Ozias gerou Joatão, Joatão gerou Acaz, Acaz gerou Ezequias,
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;	10 Ezequias gerou, Manassés, Manassés gerou Amon, Amon gerou Josias,
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:	11 Josias gerou Joaquim, Joaquim gerou Jeconias e seus Irmãos, na época da deportação para Babilônia.
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;	12 E, depois da deportação para Babilônia, Jeconias gerou Salatíel, Salatiel gerou Zorobabel,
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;	13 Zorobabel gerou Abiud, Abiud gerou Eliacim, Eliacim gerou Azor,
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;	14 Azor gerou Sadoc, Sadoc gerou Aquim, Aquim gerou Eliud,
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;	15 Eliud gerou Eleazar, Eleazar gerou Matan, Matan gerou Jacòb,
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.	16 e Jacob gerou José, o esposo de Maria, da qual nasceu Jesus, chamado Cristo.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.	17 Todas as gerações , pois, desde Abraão até David, são catorze gerações; e, desde David até à deportação para Babilônia, catorze gerações; e, desde a deportação para Babilônia até Cristo, catorze gerações.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.	18 A geração de Jesus Cristo foi deste modo: Estando Maria, sua mãe, desposada com José, achou-se ter concebido (por obra) do Espírito Santo, antes de coabitarem.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.	19 José, seu esposo, sendo justo, e não a querendo difamar, resolveu repudiá-la secretamente.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.	20 Andando ele com isto no pensamento, eis que um anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu em sonhos, e lhe disse; José, filho de David, não temas receber em tua casa Maria, tua esposa, porque o que nela foi concebido é (obra) do Espírito Santo.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.	21 Dará à luz um filho, ao qual porás o nome de Jesus, porque ele salvará o seu povo dos seus pecados.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,	22 Tudo isto aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que foi dito pelo Senhor por meio do profeta, que diz:
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.	23 Eis que a Virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e lhe porão o nome de Emanuel, que significa: Deus connosco (Is. 7, 14).
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:	24 Ao despertar José do sono, fez como lhe tinha mandada o anjo do Senhor, e recebeu em sua casa (Maria), sua esposa,
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.	25 E, sem que ele a tivesse conhecido, deu à luz um filho, e pos-lhe o nome de Jesus.
