¹ The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.	¹ Genealogia de Jesus Cristo, filho de Davi, filho de Abraão.
² Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;	² Abraão gerou Isaac. Isaac gerou Jacó. Jacó gerou Judá e seus irmãos.
³ And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;	³ Judá gerou, de Tamar, Farés e Zara. Farés gerou Esron. Esron gerou Arão.
⁴ And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;	⁴ Arão gerou Aminadab. Aminadab gerou Naasson. Naasson gerou Salmon.

⁶ And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;	⁶ O rei Davi gerou Salomão, daquela que fora mulher de Urias.
⁷ And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;	⁷ Salomão gerou Roboão. Roboão gerou Abias. Abias gerou Asa.
⁸ And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;	⁸ Asa gerou Josafá. Josafá gerou Jorão. Jorão gerou Ozias.
⁹ And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;	⁹ Ozias gerou Joatão. Joatão gerou Acaz. Acaz gerou Ezequias.
¹⁰ And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;	¹⁰ Ezequias gerou Manassés. Manassés gerou Amon. Amon gerou Josias.
¹¹ And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:	¹¹ Josias gerou Jeconias e seus irmãos, no cativeiro da Babilônia.
¹² And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;	¹² E, depois do cativeiro da Babilônia, Jeconias gerou Salatiel. Salatiel gerou Zorobabel.
¹³ And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;	¹³ Zorobabel gerou Abiud. Abiud gerou Eliacim. Eliacim gerou Azor.
¹⁴ And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;	¹⁴ Azor gerou Sadoc. Sadoc gerou Aquim. Aquim gerou Eliud.
¹⁵ And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;	¹⁵ Eliud gerou Eleazar. Eleazar gerou Matã. Matã gerou Jacó.
¹⁶ And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.	¹⁶ Jacó gerou José, esposo de Maria, da qual nasceu Jesus, que é chamado Cristo.
¹⁷ So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.	¹⁷ Portanto, as gerações, desde Abraão até Davi, são catorze. Desde Davi até o cativeiro da Babilônia, catorze gerações. E, depois do cativeiro até Cristo, catorze gerações.
¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.	¹⁸ Eis como nasceu Jesus Cristo: Maria, sua mãe, estava desposada com José. Antes de coabitarem, aconteceu que ela concebeu por virtude do Espírito Santo.
¹⁹ Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.	¹⁹ José, seu esposo, que era homem de bem, não querendo difamá-la, resolveu rejeitá-la secretamente.
²⁰ But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.	²⁰ Enquanto assim pensava, eis que um anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu em sonhos e lhe disse: “José, filho de Davi, não temas receber Maria por esposa, pois o que nela foi concebido vem do Espírito Santo.
²¹ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.	²¹ Ela dará à luz um filho, a quem porás o nome de Jesus, porque ele salvará o seu povo de seus pecados”.
²² Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,	²² Tudo isto aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que o Senhor falou pelo profeta:
²³ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.	²³ Eis que uma Virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, que se chamará Emanuel ( Is 7,14 ), que significa: Deus conosco.
²⁴ Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:	²⁴ Despertando, José fez como o anjo do Senhor lhe havia mandado e recebeu em sua casa sua esposa.
²⁵ And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.	²⁵ E, sem que ele a tivesse conhecido, ela deu à luz o seu filho, que recebeu o nome de Jesus.
