1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.	1 Libro della generazione di Gesù Cristo figliuolo di David, figliuolo d'Abramo.
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;	2 Abramo generò Isacco: Isacco generò Giacobbe: Giacobbe generò Giuda, e i suoi fratelli.
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;	3 Giuda ebbe di Tamar Fares, e Zara: Fares generò Esron: Esron generò Aram.
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;	4 Aram generò Aminadab: Aminadab generò Naasson: Naasson generò Salmon.
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;	5 Salmon ebbe di Raab Booz: Booz ebbe di Rulh Obed: Obed generò Jesse:e Jesse generò David Re.
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;	6 David Re ebbe Salomone di quella, che era stata (moglie) d'Uria.
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;	7 Salomone generò Roboamo: Roboamo generò Abìa: Abìa generò Asa.
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;	8 Asa generò Giosafatte: Giosafatte generò Joram: Joram generò Ozia.
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;	9 Ozia generò Gioatam: Gioatam generò Achaz: e Achaz generò Ezechìa.
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;	10 Ezechìa generò Manasse: Manasse generò Amon: Amon generò Giosia.
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:	11 Giosìa generò Gieconia, e i suoi fratelli imminente la trasmigrazione in Babilonia.
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;	12 E dopo la trasmigrazione di Babilonia Gieconia generò Salatici: Salatici generò Zorobabel.
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;	13 Zorobabel generò Abiud: Abiud generò Eliacim: Eliacim generò Azor.
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;	14 Azor generò Sadoc: Sadoc generò Achim: Achim generò Eliud.
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;	15 Eliud generò Eleazar: Eleazar generò Matan: Matan generò Giacobbe.
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.	16 Giacobbe generò Giuseppe, sposo di Maria: della quale nacque Gesù chiamato il Cristo.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.	17 Da Abramo dunque sino a Davidde sono in tutto quattordici generazioni: da Davidde sino alla trasmigrazione di Babilonia quattordici generazioni: e dalla trasmigrazione di Babilonia sino a Cristo quattordici generazioni.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.	18 La nascita di Gesù Cristo fu in questo modo. Essendo stata la madre di lui Maria sposata a Giuseppe, si scoperse gravida di Spirito santo, prima che stessero insieme.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.	19 Or Giuseppe marito di lei, essendo uomo giusto, e non volendo esporla all'infamia, prese consiglio di segretamente rimandarla.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.	20 Ma, mentre egli stava in questo pensiero, un Angelo del Signore gli apparve in sogno, dicendo: Giuseppe, figliuolo di Davidde, non temere di prendere Maria tua consorte: imperocché ciò, che in essa è stato conceputo, è dallo Spirito santo.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.	21 Ella partorirà un figliuolo, cui tu porrai nome Gesù; imperocché ei sarà, che libererà il suo popolo da' suoi peccati.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,	22 Tutto questo segui, affinchè si adempisse, quanto era stato detto dal Signore per mezzo del Profeta, che dice:
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.	23 Ecco che la Vergine sarà gravida: e partorirà un figliuolo, e lo chiameranno per nome Emanuele: che interpretato significa Dio con noi.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:	24 Risvegliatosi adunque Giuseppe dal sonno, fece come ordinato gli avea l'Angelo del Signore, e prese con seco la sua consorte.
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.	25 Ed egli non la conosceva, sino aquando partorì il suo figliuolo primogenito, e chiamollo per nome Gesù.
